Edmiston Drive 3,846
In 1896, when our club was still in its infancy, along came a goalscorer who was to rattle in more goals against the tarriers than any other player, even up to the present day. (35 goals). He was our top scorer for 9 straight seasons, winning 4IAR with Rangers, including captaining the invincible team of 1898-99 which won every game in a perfect league season, and scoring 21 league goals in the 18 games.Add 2 Scottish Cup winner medals to his haul, and RC Hamilton's achievements must surely see him included in the Rangers Hall of Fame? Our man scored 234 goals in 277 competitive games, and even taking into account only League and Scottish Cup matches, it was a record of 184 goals in 209 games. He also managed 76 goals in 75 friendly matches for Rangers. When he turned out for our country, he managed 15 goals in his 11 Scotland caps. There has to be something wrong with the Rangers Hall of Fame system, when the likes of Terry Butcher, Ray Wilkins and even Paul Gascoigne are included, but Robert Cummings Hamilton is not. Are we agreed?100% and people like Dougie Gray played 22 years fro the club.
