OlegKuznetsov 10,816
Rayo Vallecano launch new ‘social injustice’ kitby Feargal Brennan | Posted on Wednesday, July 1st, 2015 Rayo Vallecano have announced the release of a new socially aware kit for the 2014-15 La Liga season, aimed at highlighting social inequality in Spain. The club are keen to make a public statement regarding issues of social injustice, and their away kit for this season will feature a prominent rainbow-arcoiris feature, with the rainbow representing a firm stance against homophobia. Each colour on the rainbow represents an acknowledgement of a separate injustice in Spanish society: Red for Cancer, Orange for Disability, Yellow for Depression, Green for the Environment, Blue for Child Abuse and Pink for Domestic Violence. Each shirt will also feature the slogan ‘Solidarity’ as a wider message of support from the club towards these issues, with the club’s third kit will featuring a pink diagonal sash as a message of support to those battling with cancer. The Madrid-based club have been commended by the worldwide football community following their official kit launch, with Rayo also announcing that for every shirt sold they will donate €7 (£5) to seven separate charities selected to represent each cause.Rayo are set to play their first pre-season friendly against Hertha BSC on July 15th.I reckon that this idea will be nicked very soon and not so far from home too.
