Glasgow Rangers - The worlds most successful club.

Recommended Posts

Whatever an oirish national or a timmigrant rants on about, there's a sinister side to their view - such as 'the troubles' or 'Rangers are deid'.  They'd like Rangers to be deid, pyoorly because we are the World's most successful club.  Fenian trash that they are.

Yes, we (Rangers that is), have more titles than any other club in the world.  Claiming we are the most successful club in the world though is cringeworthingly embarrassing.

Why? Are we the most successful club in the world or not??? We have won the most titles in Scotland we have won countless cups in Scotland ( we can only beat who we are playing in Scotland) we have won a European cup and contested other European finals ( as recently as 2008) we have played in the champions league plenty of times. Not as if we have only won league titles and trying to claim to be the most successful. Be proud of who we are and what we have achieved and don't let anyone forget we are the most successful.:ukflag:

And will continue to be so.

Good teams come and good teams go, but none have ever been as successful as us over the decades.

Our history, tradition and loyal fans are up there too with the best.

We welcome the chase.

I find the claim embarrassing

We can have the most trophies definition of success, because it is, quite simply, true. Another valid definition of success would be number of games won in your history.

The only thing valid about that definition is if you were talking about Scotland.  You can only compare like for like.  To say Rangers, Linfield and Penerol are more successful than, say, Real Madrid, is just daft; embarrassingly so.

Joe Louis was a more successful boxer than Muhammed Ali.

Margaret Court and Steffi Graf were more successful than Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova and Serena Williams.

Denmark and Greece are more successful on the international stakes than Portugal.

Notts Forest and Aston Villa are more successful in European terms than Arsenal and Tottenham.

It's a subjective thing, so it all depends on which achievements you choose.

Does Marseilles or  Aston Villa's sole European cup win make them a greater European side than Rangers or Arsenal ?

Does Aberdeen winning the Supercup make them greater achievers than the Old Firm ?

And how many of the "great teams" could still pull in 40,000 plus against 4th division teams over a season ?

(I think possibly the two Spanish giants, but then again, maybe not)

At the end of the day there is only one team that has won more trophies available than any other.

Celebrate the fact.

Yes, you are comparing eggs with eggs so judgements like that are more reasonable.  It's nonsense though to say Ahly are a more successful than Arsenal based on the fact they have more Egyptian titles than Arsenal have English.

Exactly.  You can only judge who the most successful team in the world by being subjective, not just by counting national trophies.

No.  I'm not making any claims based simply on the number of trophies won...although Real Madrid's ten European Cups would be strong support for them being the world's most successful club.

No, although I've got to admit I find the Sheep's claim quite funny.  I take it though that the O/P, and the supporters of this claim that we are the WMSC, must therefore think Aberdeen are Scotland's most successful European club.

(Very few clubs can claim to have invented a competition that's for sure; we can with the European Super Cup ;))

Yes but nobody's arguing that we don't have a world class support. We do.

The fact is that the titles we have won have only been available to Scottish teams.  Again, I'm not arguing we are not Scotland's most successful club, or that we shouldn't celebrate that.
