if it was not for Boyd's goals last season, we'd not be in the CL this year.

certain fans should lay off Boyd he has a terrific goalscoring record for us! Boydy will never be a lone striker and a club like Rangers should not be playing with one up front too often. when hes playing up there with another striker he flourishes and i cant imagine Darcheville scoring 30 odd goals this year. He has a big role to play this season as he has the last 1 and a half! :rangers:

And if it wasn't for McGregors saves, we wouldn't be in the group stage.

All if's and but's, how do you know another player wouldn't have scored Boyd's goals?

everyman in the squad has his role

No they don't. Sebo didn't, Murray didn't, Sionko didn't, Svensson didn't.

Just because they are in the squad doesn't mean they should have some aura around them that means they are should be untouched by the hand of criticism. Players who are perfoming get credit, those who are not recieve criticism.

It's the same in any workplace, football should be no different.

if u work in a cake factory and ure job is to put the cherries ontop of the cakes u wouldnt expect to be critised for a dodgy sponge, boyd paid to score goals and thats what he does

and he does that well most of the time.

but this team now needs a more complete striker than him. I'm sure he'll do well in the SPL when he gets his chance but in europe, no.

But if the cake factory had two decent workers who make good sponge and are not too shabby at cherry placement, surely the guy who's only good at cherry placement should be let go?

  Where is this going Rossco?

Walter knows what hes doing.

By dropping Boyd?

Couldn't agree more mate.

The way walter talked at his interview Boyd was not even in his plans to get on the park to-nite."Third" choice striker at Ibrox(and that's only since Sebo left)

obviously he wont be happy not playing against milan or other champions league teams but hes a player with the ability to find the net he has to learn from the players in the squad that can play the lone role but this mite take away from his attributes u never know. only a few seasons ago he was playing for killie he will only grow with expeience, and if he doesnt then he will not be playing for rangers,he has had no competition for the strikers role now he has it can only be a good thing.if u dont have a challenge u get in ure comfort zone

As PB quite rightly points out, many pro Boyd posters' arguments are based on the premise that he scores a goal every game, when in reality he quite clearly does not!

I wish gers fans would cut players a little slack sometimes. Boyd was considered to be one of our few assets last year, until Walter came in to steady the ship. KB is part of the Rangers squad - not every player can play in every game - but he will play his part when needed. Surely tactics demand that we play different players depending on the formation used. KB will still help us win the SPL this season, so give him a break.

JCD and Boyd are 2 different strikers so the comparisons are way off!

As in ones good enough, and one isnt you mean?

So when Boyd scores again you won't be celebrating?

Ahh, this one again ;)

Maybe this is the plan Walter has - to delegate Boyd to the Rangers cake factory. Maybe we'll see him adding icing to a nice birthday cake :)
