Boab 73
Younger Bears won't really remember me this but its: The Tennents' Sixes was an annual indoor football tournament contested each January by Scottish senior football clubs - usually from the (then) Premier Division, but occasionally with guest participants from the lower divisions of the Scottish Football League, and in one instance English club Manchester City [1] - between 1984 and 1993. The tournament was sponsored by Tennent Caledonian Breweries and organised by the Scottish Football Association. When Tennent Caledonian Breweries withdrew their sponsorship after the 1993 event, the Sixes was discontinued. We have won it twice in 1984 and 1990. Doubt it would come back cause folk are too borin' but would you like it to come back?

Emerson 2
The sixes were good though, maybe if they had a winter shut down and had a tourney that would be good. I remember we beat Dundee 6-4 in one final, exciting games all around.
Frankie 505
No thanks. Let's leave the fun games to the guys who can afford to get injured in informal tournaments.
Bazza 21
No thanks. Let's leave the fun games to the guys who can afford to get injured in informal tournaments. They were good fun to watch, but there are far more important things to concentrate on.
ricardopatrese 0
the sixes were class! remember watchin davie c take the fuckin piss out of selick when he was plain for motherwell - took on 4 sellick players and beat them all twice then stuck it in the pokie. guy was a fuckin genius on square foot of grass let alone an entire pitch. bring them back - gave loads of 5-a-side players an opportunity to see what REAL players can do with a ball. as for frankies response - jeesus - how many guys did you know got injured at sixes ffs? we're talking proper athletes here playing the equivalent of daft bounce games. entertaining for us - piece of piss for them. wheres the harm? it would never happen in england cos too much moneys involved. it SHOULD happen here cos it would take the game BACK to the people in more ways than one. and we've already seen the effect that england's greed is good approach has had on grass-roots football - as if scottish football needed a reminder! watch this space - the english game will go into meltdown in the next 5 years.
