CELTIC will give boss Gordon Strachan the cash to draft in FOUR new players during the january transfer window.

Chief Executive Peter Lawwell and his board have sanctioned the mid-season splash to keep thier Spl and Champions League campaigns on course.

It"s understood that will now mean new players in BOTH fullback berths, a class midfielder and a proven striker as the hoops bid to make more history and reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

Strachan is also anxious to keep Rangers at bay and secure his third spl title in a row.

The BHOYS boss ,football development chief John Park and Lawwell have been involved in talks over the last two months, and thier plans where not affected by Celts European progression.

A Club insider said, The Budgeting has been done.

"the ambition remains fierce here. the budget is there for the manager and the desire is there to get the players we need to drive to club to the next stage ".

Aston Villa"s Shaun Maloney is hotly tipped for a Parkhead return, while the Hoops have also been strongly linked with Portsmouths unsettled Left-back Matt Taylor.

However, the futures of Derek Riordan,Bobo Balde,Maceij Zurawski and Evander Sno are all in doubt.

------------

looks like a few in and a couple out in january for them , hopefully we do the same notably another mf and possibly a fullback. buffell ? adam ? ehiogu ? burke ? gow ? papac ? . possibly could look to move on.

Hard to find quality full backs. They cost too much, Murphy of Hibs is a prime example. If ra sellik want all those players then they'd have to spend at least £10million. They dont have that to spend plus teams do not want to sell in January!

£10mil is the minimum for either of the OF really, to improve the team/squad by raising the bar a lot higher.

Hence what we done over the summer.

I can see WGS going in for some Championship FB's....John White (Colchester), Jon Harley (Burnely) would be available for next to nothing, and would jump at the chanc of playing in the CL.

Naylor was pretty good last year, but his form has totally collapsed this season, it's been good watching his wee scoul face getting annoyed when he pings a cross into the stand, and all the tims on the front seats mouthing off at him.

Makes good watching

Celtic wont sign anybody that spectacular in the window. Sean Maloney, woopie fucking doo 'I had one good season and have been shit ever since'

They are worse than us when it comes to being lnked with good players and never getting them:

Keane, Appiah and Tymoshuk to name but three.

Instead of that they ended up with Killen, Donati and Brown

F*ck they even tried to get that boy Reigters(sp) that went to Blackburn, not heard his name all season!

Exactly.

Atleast Beasley and JCD have a bit of a name and a bit of a reputation. You could even squeeze in McCulloch considering he's been playing in The Premiership for two years, and Naismith on the basis that he's seen as a great prospect.
