will a heavy pitch be to our advantage?

No, it won't be to them either (tu)

If the pitch was heavy and it resulted in a more direct game then it would benefit us a lot more than them.

VOH, McManus & Brown aside they don't have a lot of physicality in their side. Guys like Hartley, McGeady, Nakamura and their full backs are better when the ball is played on the deck . We can do that too, but we also have players like JCD, Cuellar, Broadfoot, Dailly, Thomson, McCulloch and even Davis & Adam who would thrive in a direct game.
