CanadianGer 1 Posted January 12, 2009 Share Posted January 12, 2009 I'm not sure the overhaul of the wage structure you are suggesting will improve this. Almost certainly correct, sadly. If I'm honest though, the players we have now and what they are paid beggars belief. When the girls like Mrs B or Steph go to Murray Park and get some photos of the team leaving, its unbelievable to see the likes of Gow leaving in Bentleys! These are players who arrive from minor Scottish clubs and manage under 10 hours a season in some cases. And young players with no track record and everything still to prove. I know that we won't bring Mendes to Rangers for 6 grand a week, but what about Gow? Or Burke from our youth programme if the alternative was to prove himself elsewhere. We'd put some noses severely out of joint but I can't help seeing that bump back to earth as good for lads driving Bentleys when they aren't even in the side. Maybe I'm just an old codger, I remember when Arnold Clark sponsored the team's cars and the young lads were going mad for a new VW Golf - and not the GTI version!
