The fact that we are relative paupers in comparison to the greed and wealth flying around down south makes the gesture all the more noble.

As has been said, the English football authorities and clubs should be ashamed; they have money to burn and no mistake.

 

Lower leagues are the lifeblood and we have done our part up here in keeping some smaller teams, ahem, afloat. The big fish down south would do well to remember that as a top-heavy structure with no foundations will eventually topple, no matter how opulent the penthouse is.
