LaudrupsPatrickBoots 13,510
Scott Brown was swaggering about that pitch today like a world beater, running the game for them while getting away with his usual antics. Throwing our players about like wee boys and getting sneaky wee digs in again. We need someone in this team that isn't afraid to go out there and fucking smash one of their players. Concede the foul, take the booking but send the message to these bastards that they won't have it all their own way. Barton was supposed to be that guy but that went tits up, Halliday could have been that guy today but never stepped up either. We've been missing a midfield enforcer since Warburton came in and it's something that needs addressed. It doesn't always have to be about nice football and keeping possession, sometimes you just need a player to go in there and do the dirty work. Lways think back to Hutton on mcgeady, totally kept him out of the game after crunching him. You need guys like Ian Ferguson in your midfield who bleed blue and fucking hate them. I just don't think we have a player who has it in them. We're too soft.

TMB 14,167
Scott Brown is a player Rangers fans love to hate. The reality is, he's a very average player and always has been. Celtic have several players that are more talented and dangerous to us.

Going out your way to hurt someone isn't the smart idea many think it is. Someone mentioned a player like Ian Ferguson but cast your minds back to the final we lost against Hearts many years ago and the mistakes of that day. No one said anything about going out of your way to hurt someone but to assert yourself in the game early on is crucial for these matches. It is a risk that you might be over zealous and fuck things up but brown would have been a mouse today if we had someone who bullied him from the off. As @TheLoudenTavernier stated we are too soft as a team, no one is taking on that role and it showed today.

It's not going out your way to hurt someone at all. It's a hard, firm challenge that lets your opponent know they're in a battle and can affect their mindset and influence they have on the rest of the game. That scissor tackle from behind was just his reaction to not getting the penalty when Wallace fairly tackled Sinclair, could easily have been a red. IF he is homesic, then we need a good 7 or so months out of him, playing a lot f fotball.... gt him in the shop window. IIRC liverpool wanted an 8m development fee if he had gone to another English club. We got him for 250k.  He looks like a star in the making, i'd love to see him stay for aother 2 years. but we should be wanting 5m and not a penny less for him. The only trouble with that is, what was a yellow card 4-5 years ago, is a red card now. Although you have a point because we committed a lot less fouls than them.

Couldn't agree more, we needed a Souness to clatter Dembele and Sinclair early bells then break up play. WTF is Rossiter? as he could be that player but there seems to be issues about players getting injured atm which is worrying.
