  1. Wish I knew how to set up Twitter Ofcourse it's never going to happen- he would either decline the invitation or not turn up. So either way it would show everyone, including his employers, what kind of person he really is.
  2. I've already stated on a previous thread - I do not know why you all get so upset with this 'brave man's' ramblings.Invite him along to the first home game at Ibrox to explain, from the Centre Circle at Half Time, his anti-rangers feelings to the fans.Let us see just how brave he is.Come on you guys, with access to Twitter, - call his bluff. A Rangers Fan for nearly 70 years and hurting
  3. To you guys who do Twitter - why don't you invite Thomson along to the first Home game at Ibrox (whenever that may be) to address the fans at Half Time with his views on Rangers. We are always being told of all the Wars he has reported on - let's see how brave he really is.Perhaps the Home game after that invite this guy Daly to hear his ramblings. Then lastly, how about an invite for the'English'guy who sounds Irish and writes for the Scotsman - he must be very confused.
  4. Correct me if I am wrong,I understood that there were 5 Charges made against RFC and 3 against Whyte by the SFA. Does anyone know the detail of these charges and how the penalties /santions were apportioned to each ?
  5. Fan for 70 Years - Edu is the most useless player I have ever seen in a Ranger's jersey. My opinion has not changed since his first game for us. To save your job Ally start the clearout there.
  6. The Headline says it all 'Lennon's more than just a boss.....he's a SYMBOL of everything that this club stands for' I don't think any of us would disagree with that. What a stupid thing to say. also Billy McNeill should cast his mind back ..... the 'Establishment', that he speaks of, was the one which deprived Willie Woodburn of earning his living all those years ago.It would be interesting to hear his comments on that.
  7. If Celtic want out why do they not go and join the Southern Irish League.I'm sure they would be welcomed there and not feel discriminated against
  8. Might I remind you, there are mainly two types of schools in Scotland-Public Scools and Roman Catholic Schools so it is obvious who is resposible for the segregation.
  9. I am sorry, but I have been a Rangers Fan for close on seventy years and yes I am embarrassed right now, for a team that is representing a Great Institution. Forget all this nonsense about 'Pre-season friendlies',Getting up to match fitness etc,.etc.,our present bunch of players (with very few exceptions) lack BASIC FOOTBALLING SKILLS pure and simple. We can't take Corners,we can't take Free-kicks,we can't take Throw-ins, our back kicks don't sit close enough to opposing wingers ets .,ets.,WHAT DO THEY DO AT MURRAY PARK ? These deficiencies should be practised every day . I never thought I would ever see such a pathetic bunch of players pulling on our blue jerseys and that has been the case for a few years now (forget last season - we didn't win when it mattered -did we ?) I am well aware of the financial constraints on the club - we are unable to sign the Quality players that we did in the past but surely our coaching staff can teach the players we have BASIC FOOTBALLING SKILLS.The lack of these skills is so obvious - thats my embarrassment.

  11. Was lucky to see him play all those years ago.He really was ''the Marvel fae Darvel''.Get well soon Sammy.
  12. I feel I must reiterate what I have already said on this subject....... Whilst I accept that ''Crossing Oneself'' is not a crime, wasn't it the Scottish Parliment, the S.F.A etc.,etc., who recently agreed that ''There is no place for religion in football''( which I agree with incidentally). Surely then making the' Sign of the Cross' on a football park is bringing religion into football. I am sure most of you work beside Roman Catholics. When they arrive at there point of work do they 'Cross ' themselves ? - I think not. Certainly never in my 50 odd years employment in the Steel Industry did I witness such a thing. In my opinion 'Crossing oneself 'is a private matter and as such should be done prior to entering the field of play - end of story
  13. Let us not forget that it was the S.F.A. and The Scottish Executive who said ' there is no place in Scottish Football for religion'.I can only assume that edict covers religious gestures also
  14. Is this the same 'mature, sensible administration who insist that an R.C. should be allowed to become our sovereign - aye right.
  15. So you are suggesting that The poster of this message is a plank is the best of a bad lot. That is no way to determine a Rangers captain. Alternatives ? I would list a few possible alternatives 1. Stefan Klos as Club Captain (apart from anything else he would then be paid for doing something), team captain could then be handed to anyone as appropriate, Prso when in the team, Gavin Rae has already done it and now WS considers him good enough to start in Europe. 2. David Weir right now would be a better alternative even if he is only on loan. Then buy in an Inspirational figure in the summer 3. Kevin Thomson has captained Hibs pretty successfully. YOU used the term 'Bad Lot ' not ME. In case you hadn't noticed BF is head and shoulders above any other player in our squad. His desire and ability are uunquestionable but he is playing in a mediocre team. We should never give our rival fans from the other side of the city a chance to snigger, but they must P..s themselves laughing at your contribution on this site....... for example your 'Possible Alternatives ' for the captaincy:- 1. Stefan Klos : will not be there much longer, Prso : will not play often enough, Gavin Rae : will not be there much longer ( nice to see however, that you recognise WS's contribution - was he not the man who gave BF back the armband and was also his choice as Scotland's captain.) 2. David Weir : An on-loan player our captain ? - I think not . 3. Kevin Thomson :Just in the door. Would it be fair to give him this responsibilty ? - I doubt very much if he would want this reposibility at this stage in his career Which brings us back to my original post - Who would this' Inspirational Figure' be???? However no doubt you will be HAPPY to know that come Thursday BF may not be leading our team out you continue to show an inability to read what was actually said. I have certainly never questioned the ability of 6 6 6 - agreed he is head and shoulders above most of thwe players in that department, however, he is pretty much toes, ankles and knees below the others in terms of dignity and inspirational qualities. The names quoted above were for temporary captains until we make a signing of someone of stature who can bring the best out of others. One thing is for sure, everyone agrees that this team is underperforming, everyone agrees there is no harmony, everyone agrees there is not maximum effort So whatever 6 6 6 is doing in his role as captain, IT AIN'T WORKING. Alba you have the inability to understand the meaning of ability in footballing terms Our present teams problems are NOT underformance, lack of harmony or effort. Our teams problem are lack of ABILITY.Something which no Captain, or even Inspirational Captain, can be held responsible. I will now end this post by saying - I hope for your sake and mine and thousands of others that BF is able to captain our side on Thursday
  16. A SINCERE welcome friend and THATS what I had heard and makes the most sense of all. I too am an oldie having followed them since '54/55. You can join our 'Oldie" club! Got to be honest that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Why the black if that's the case? I was always led to believe it was because red and black are the colours of the burgh of Govan. Sorry for not getting back quicker - I understand that at the time when the red and black socks were introduced there was at least one other club in the 1st Division who wore all red socks

  18. ALBA your comments about Barry Ferguson are nothing short of disgraceful - even if he was our poorest player. You do not say who your choice of captain would be ( forget Prso , incidentally he thinks BF is a great guy and captain) Is there some great inspirational guy wating in the wings to take over the captaincy - I think not. You seem to be like that other guy who comes on here (GTF SDM - I think that's his initials) you don't have any alternatives to offer.
  19. Having been a 'Gers fan for over 65 years,I have always understood that the reason for Red Tops on our socks was to complete our club colours - Red,White and Blue. There was nothing sectarian about it.
  20. Cameron, with his phoney accent, said a month ago on Real Radio that 'religion has no place in football 'then a couple of weeks ago said 'I do not see any problem with the Celtic goalkeeper crossing himself on the park prior to a game' Do I need to say anymore about him.
