  1. At no stage did I say anything about abandoning the club, I love rangers and have done my entire life and will continue until the day u die! However at the end of the day we want success as a club and more importantly after how we battled to win a title, to lose it in these circumstances is heartbreaking especially to that horrible little cretin! I don't know what will happen now but it has been a struggle affording the season ticket for a while and I want to know where we are going before committing! On a side note just because I've not posted alot on here does that make me less of a fan? Your the same idiots posting on here during a game saying ally must go when some of us are there supporting the team!!!
  2. I don't know the ins and outs of all this administration stuff, is it a good move long term? Does whyte have our best interests at heart....I just don't know. All I am is a supporter of the greatest club in the world and after the blood sweat and tears of the past 3 years to win that title, it kills me we are just giving it to them. Ally must be absolutely gutted! With no cup football we've really nothing to play for this season. I now have a big decision re my season ticket for next year.. I've had it for 18 years in a row but until such times as I know where we are going under whyte I'm really not in a financial position to renew it to watch us challenge for 2nd place.
  3. Didnt think i'd be saying this again but thought Mcculloch was excellent today! Held the ball up well, won flick on's and really suprisingly showed some great touches....oh and what a strike! 5-1 to score at any time was great odds, glad I stuck a tenner on. I know it was Dunfermline but thought in patches we played pretty well and showed alot of character after our poor start. Only slight negatives for me are the insistence on playing Papac at LM where he doesnt look comfortable and Bartley in general. I know he is not a RB and just filling in but for a guy to come through at Arsenal under Wenger, I cant believe how bad he is at passing and he needs 3 touches before deciding what to do with the ball.
  4. On his day he was excellent. Really just depends on his attitude and fitness as to how hel do this time round! Either way it's an improvement on what wev got! On a positive note, I remember a phase when we played cousin up front with Naismith and Burke either side and we played some great stuff! I'd hope with aluko and mervan there could be a similar effect?
  5. Love the positivity mate and I really hope your right but I just dont know if we can do it this time. Would be a big lift going onto Saturday if Hearts take something tomorrow.
  6. I want to make it clear I am not in the get Ally out brigade and want nothing more than to see him bring us success but since the Utd game i've been thinking about the signings we have made under Mccoist. Alot of the boys on the bus were saying it's Whyte's fault, he's not given Ally enough money etc....But is that right? We signed 8 players in the summer, none of which with the exception of Aluko has improved our team from last year or presents an asset we could make a profit off from selling on. Money was there in the Summer, we just dint spend it well enough. It may have been a wages thing but if you look at some other SPL teams it shows there is much better value for money out there...... Celtic signed Wanyama for about the same we spent on Ortiz, if they were to sell him in the summer they would easily get 5 million+ and to be fair he is the kind of player we lack. They also got Mathews on a free who again is a very sellable asset and is a decent right back. Aberdeen brought in Arnesen on a free and he would net them a big profit. Motherwell signed Ojamma for fuck all and guaranteed in a year he will be playing in the championship and net well a tidy profit. None of our players would net us a profit at the moment. My point is...Yes money's tight and its far from ideal but we have still spent more money than the rest of the SPL and had we not lost in Europe I believe we would have spent more. Everyone says we wrent ready for Europe etc we should have brought players in, Whittaker getting sent off cost us etc. Fact is we were playing against two teams who's entire wage bill is less than Steven Davis's and over 2 legs we have no excuse for losing. I am not saying Whyte has done everything right but Mccoist made these signings and there is much better value out there. . I can't remember the last player Rangers signed that very few had heard of that turned out to be a value for money signing. Our scouting system is pish and has been for a long while. So your Craig Whyte....what do you do? Throw money at Mccoist and hope he brings in a good enough quality of player or face the remainder of this season with our current squad, get the tax case out of the way and then regroup for next year? I would hate to see that wee rat win a treble but i'm bracing myself for that being a reality, although I still believe we have enough about us to win the league and I think it will be the making of Ally as a manager if he can get the players believing that and playing with fight and charatcer for the rest of the season.
  7. The problem I have is IF Celtic were going out and paying 4/5 million for top players and they were running away with the league, you would have to say fair enough but they havn't spent much at all over the past few seasons. They are brininging in guys like Wanyama and Izagurie on the cheap who are turning out to be players, whereas under Mcoist we spent money on Bedoya, Ortiz and Mckay who aint getting a game. It might be a wages thing, I don't know but surely if they can uncover these types of player so can we and thats nothing to do with our current circumstances. We have still got a better squad (on paper) than the rest of the SPL but probably play the worst football at the moment, so yes Mccoist has had a difficult time of it and all the board room stuff probably has had an effect on the players but we still should be doing better with the money we do have and the players we've got, and that buck ultimatly stops with Coisty.
  8. I genuinly wasn't meaning for this to turn into another thread about Matt Mckay but more to highlight the issue we have with scouting. As much as I hate to admit it, if you look at the players Celtic have brought in for the money they have spent there seems to be a massive difference in quality to what we are unearthing and that needs to change, especially with our finances so tight. As for the Mckay situation, ive only seen the guy play a grand total of about 180 minutes since he's been over here and I do think he looks like a player but then again I thought Mervan was gona be really good (hopefully still will) after coming on against Hibs, so what do I know. . I appreciate he may not have been the player Mccoist thought he was but Bartley and Papac have been played in CM before him this year which is a joke so I'm assuming there has been some sort of fall out. Whatever happens we need to change something because as someone said above, we are to often losing the midfield battle and with our current striking options playing a 4-5-1 may not be the worst idea and hopefully then we'll get a chance to see what MM can do.
  9. I'm reading that line up as a 4-3-3, which is good but if that is the case it seems Papac has been chosen in a CM role which is a nonsense. Either way here's hoping for a positive reaction from the players and the fans today! 2-1 Gers WATP!!
  10. Not sure what to make of Craig moores opinion on why McKay hasn't made an impact at the gers in the evening times today... He says mckays not the type of player ally thought he'd be and Im maybe wrong but Ortiz and bedoya seem to fit into that category aswell. I'm not saying its ally's fault, more our scouts but it's certainly far from ideal either way. From the outside looking in it seems ally has been looking for wide midfielders/wingers and none of them really fit that bill. Now for those so quick to judge us for bringing in trialists I for one would rather, we knew exactly what we were getting, especially now that money is so tight and we can't afford to make mistakes and have players picking up wages for nothing.
  11. Just sums up how bad the journalisim in this country is that this is headline news....Two grown men go for a pint...so what if they are from opposite sides of the old firm. It amazes me people on here still believe every shit story thats printed about us or our players.
  12. I think that's a fantastic shout mate. One of the big differences down south is the fact they are licensed to sell beer in the ground and alot of their stadiums are in and around lively parts of town with plenty bars etc. Which generates income and improves the atmosphere in and around the stadium. Would love to see us do something like this, get entertainment involved for pre/post match. Would also maybe make a difference to the subway loyal and not leave us with a half empty stadium for the last 10 minutes of games.
  13. As much as any of you I was very disappointed yesterday we didnt replace Jelavic or for that matter sign anyone and to be perfectly honest with our current squad, especially in the forward areas it will be very difficult to win the league............BUT not impossible. The one bonus of this is it will force us to play the ball on the deck and when we have done that this season we have scored goals and played reasonably well. I'm hoping Mervan can build on his promising debut and I would urge Ally to sort out any differences he has with Mckay and give him a chance as I think the most effective way forward for us now is 4-3-3. A midfield 3 of Davis, Edu and Mckay(Ness if fit) with a front 3 of Aluko, Mervan and Healy(Lafferty). Provides a bit of pace and creativity from middle to front. As a fellow glass half full bear recently posted there is no point in getting down and giving up or getting on the players/managments backs when we are far from out of this title race. Hartson made a cunt of himself last year when Miller left saying the title was over and although this leaves us even shorter than then, it may galvanise the squad even more and just imagine how good it will feel if we do win it. Unless this Pole turns out to be a world beater, Celtic aint exactly anything to fear and although people say a manager wants a big squad, there may come a time when there is division amongst the Celtic squad as there is so many guys that are not gonna be playing regular and might be an advantage to us having a smaller squad or maybe thats clutching at straws. Either way as worrying as it is, I will be there on Sunday supporting the 11 players we do have on the pitch. No point worrying and getting upset about things we cant control. We are Rangers supporters and no matter how bleak it get at least we know we will always be better than them!!! No Surrender!!!!!
  14. It's looking pretty unlikely that any signings are coming in before 11 but I remain hopeful we can use the jelavic money for some decent free transfers. Estonian guy, got this Cameroon guy on trial and who knows what else is about. Bleak times mind you and I fear we don't have the firepower to win this title now! Hope I'm wrong! ?
  15. So you are basing this on a report from a site that half an hour earlier was listing the players we were after to replace Jelavic to then say we wont be signing anyone.....You must be a very nieve little man....It's transfer deadline day and things change all the time and these kind of stories wind up the weak minded such as yourself...We may not sign anyone as I said but until such times as something official is released or the window shuts forgive me if I dont share your happy go lucky attitude. Oh and "away and fuck off"???? -Great comeback mate, what are you like 12?
  16. You are the most negative cunt going.....Until such times as you have a source for this or proof then stop posting shit! We might not sign anyone but id be surprised and the truth is no-one knows and wont know until 11pm! I'll accept your (i'd hope not satisfied) gloating should the transfer window shut with no-one coming in and I will be the first to admit, as a betting man I wouldnt then bet on us winning the title with your money!
  17. All the doom and gloom aside I firmly believe someone will come in. Just watching sky sports news and qpr are potentially bringing in two strikers.....wouldn't be surprised to see a late bid for mackie or maybe even Campbell. Either way I'm not gona get worried and start slating people, especially when history shows the gers almost always pull a late one out the bag! Let's wait and see what happens in next few hours.
  18. Why would you be raging if Ness went on loan for the rest of the season? With regular games it may allow him to get over the niggling injuries that have halted his progress and he could come back a stronger player next season. Yes he is twice the player Mcculloch is but Ally will always have hims as at least 3rd choice for the CM role so Ness should go and play.
  19. I have always been someone who takes everything I read, in the gutter press of this country, with a pinch of salt. I see another sensationalised headline today in the Daily Rebel and read the delight at the sad tims with their little comments at the bottom. I'm not for a minute burying my head and saying nothing is wrong but the truth is its all speculation and bitching that has got us to this point not facts. First of all Whyte has spent money on signings and new contracts, a good bit of this was subsidised by Bougherras sale but not all of it. I firmly believe many of our signings as John Brown alluded to in the ET last week were back up choices after we didnt qualify for Europe. That was a major setback and I dont blame Whyte for not just throwing more money at the situation to bring in average (big money) signings to compete in only the SPL...who could we attract anyway? And as the first 3 months of the season proved we should have had a good enough squad anyway to win it. Whyte has kept to alot of the promises he made re improving the matchday experience at Ibrox (screens etc) as well as developing the Rangers brand. Im maybe wrong but you dont put in place new marketing strategies etc if you are a conman who wants to make money and do a bunk. I think the scaremongering from the media and the scum has got to alot of people. Yes the tax case could fuck us but Man Utd are in Billions of debt, yes a different situation but they COULD be fucked as well. The DR have printed a non-entity of a story (as usual), so what if he's done that? Many clubs do and if it gives us the opportunity to bring in guys like Mervan, Aluko etc to add to the squad im sure most would accept that. He is clearly doing this as insurance against a potential loss in the tax case. Everyone goes on about its a disgrace we are bringing trialists in and not signing them, the tims take great joy in this but I for one am happy. For too many years Rangers brought in guys on big wages who ended up hopless, why not take a look first and be more prudent. Throwing our money around is how we are here in the first place. Someone said yesterday on here its a joke Hibs are getting a player "we cant afford". Well for a kick-off its not a Liverpool after this guy, its Hibs so Im maybe wrong again but I doubt wer missing out on much. I firmly believe we will sign someone today to replace Jelavic (hopefully 2) and with everything else we will see what happens. Im not saying wer not in trouble but don't listen to that arsehole Alistair Johnston.....This man had the time to get an investor/buyer and failed and all his mates with their millions who are "true Rangers fans", where were they when we needed new investment? Whyte may not be the hero we all want but he's what wev got and until something actually happens and not just speculation started by pathetic tims, I will continue to back him and will always support the Rangers.
  20. Im so sick of the press in this country just printing what they want and validating it with "a source said...."....absolute shite! I dont doubt Jelavic will move in the next two days but listening to Naismith yesterday and everything Jela has said himself, I very much doubt he would demand a move.
  21. Ive never been one to give a player wearing our colours too much stick and the fact he has came through our youth system I really would love to see him kick on BUT for a winger he is so one dimensional and I dont know many other players that are so one footed. I play right back for a pishy amateur team and pace aside id really fancy my chances against wylde...show him onto his right all day and he's got nothing...no tricks, no turns...directness can be good but when people suss you out you need a plan B! Thats why it baffles me the decision to play him on the right as they did when he came on against Celtic. Its either Left mid and develop his creativity or no thanks....In 15 minutes (hard to tell) Mervan looked twice the player and id like to hope he will be starting at left mid against Utd (favoured position for a change).
  22. I think alot of people tend to forget with Edu that he had only 1 season of professional football before he signed for us. He was always gonna be raw. I think he has had some shocking games for Rangers, especially at points last season where if he wasnt hiding he was tripping over the ball. That said he has scored some big goals for us and in the last few months I think he has been excellent. Hopefully some of the knuckle draggers who sit near me at Ibrox will get off the guys back as he seems to be more confident and producing the goods as a result.
  23. I've said on here before I'm slightly concerned that mccoist is not the man for this job and i can count on one hand the decent performences this season BUT what else could he have done today?? The bench looked very weak and we cudnt change anything up top, yes mccoist made signings etc but at the end of the day we just didn't do enough to win today and it's the players fault not allys! People worry about tactics and maybe there is an issue there but at the end of the day, it makes no difference if u don't play well. Title is by no means over but big improvement needed....from the players!!! No Surrender!!!!!
  24. Legend and a great captain for our club. Feel a bit sorry it's ended this way..maybe should have left on a high with Walter but definetly deserves recognition...Lap of honour etc! No surrender davie weir!!!!!!
  25. Not for a minute do I believe that today was a great performance and unfortunately most of the season has been similar or worse.....but....on reflection we did create quite a few chances today against one of the better spl teams. Celtic aren't great and if we can add a striker this month to play beside jelavic we are more than capable of beating them. Mccoist has made some bad decisions but gotta keep the faith! WATP!!!
