  1. I like the idea of having Rangers-minded players. Issue we have is there aren't many of a great quality available. Shankland would definitely do a job in this team, but we'd need Roofe/Dessers to move on first.
  2. If it goes ahead, I fully expect to see McCausland and Danilo ahead of Lammers and Dessers.
  3. Exactly the sort of opportunity many of the stalwarts of this squad have squandered in the past. Let's hope Clement can fire them up to close the gap this time.
  4. That's true. Visions of having your own statue outside Ibrox but all you get is your season ticket voided and told never to come back. Mind you, £800k and a bit of gardening leave sound a right treat.
  5. "The thing that encouraged me about Frank is that he wanted to do it" If those were the outstanding credentials, he would have found 50,000 candidates at Ibrox every other weekend.
  6. I see. I misread the post. But I still think that's a bit of a pointless comparison tbh as all have played at varying levels of leagues. In regards to their minutes per goals for Rangers, the stats paint a much different picture: Defoe - 99.44 Boyd - 117.08 Roofe - 123.68 Jelavic - 126.03 Morelos - 152.43 Miller - 180.28 Prso - 252.46 Dessers - 254.25 The closest is Prso who was in the twilight of his career for a lot of his time with us, but if you were to compare the players with only your eyes, you'd have to have been sniffing glue to think Dessers was anywhere near the quality of Prso. I understand that you're trying to be glass-half-full with Dessers and to give the benefit of the doubt to him, his sample size for Rangers is far too small to have an accurate comparison, but the problem is that when you watch him, he looks every bit the player we were all worried he'd be. He may still come good, but I severely doubt it.
  7. Just seen your bit about getting the stats from Transfermarkt. Went on there to check and I have Boyd at 117.08 minutes per goal and that includes his horrid season when he came back in the Championship. He's on a goal every 104.85 minutes if you just account for his first spell so Boyd (as expected) blows Dessers out the water for stats. (Unless I've made a blunder here)
  8. Those stats are a bit dubious mate. Are you sure they're accurate? Did you obtain the minutes played for each player or have you just multiplied their games played by 90 minutes, because if that's the case then you wouldn't have accounted for sub appearances.
  9. Extremely sad news. Rest easy mate.
  10. Probably looking at it with the rose-tinted honeymoon glasses, but we look so much better today. A lot more forward passing and trying to force an attack. Sideways passing at a minimum.
  11. Fully believe a good manager gets a tune out of these players (except Dessers). Hopefully Clement is the man. I think January will see a big improvement. I'd imagine a couple of wingers in the door. Don't even have to be spectacular players, just something to give us a bit of width.
  12. Yassss. A manager that has a chance of still being here post Christmas 2024.
  13. I think Danilo will eventually join the list of pass marks. Lammers is some way off and will probably not ever work out for us. Dessers is disgracefully bad and we should be looking to move him on in some form at the earliest opportunity.
  14. Lovelace can definitely play at this level. Beale even said so himself. Then the cunt never played him. Masterclass.
  15. Think bringing Lovelace in will prove to be a great choice. Youth players like him will be absolutely chomping at the bit to displace some of the losers ahead of them in the team. A bit of energy and drive that's been non-existent.
  16. At this stage, handing the armband to someone else will make not a jot of difference to anything. I do think that the first thing our new manager should bring in at the earliest opportunity is an actual natural leader for the squad (hopefully also a CB).
  17. Absolutely nowhere near the root cause of our defensive woes. Questionable mentality sure, but that stems from having no natural leaders in the squad whatsoever. Our biggest issue when it comes to defending comes from the fullbacks and lack of a decent midfield unit. Barisic defends like a deer in headlights and Tavernier is too interested in getting himself into the box to try and pump his attacking stats up. We don't have anyone capable of operating as an effective number 6 who can take the ball from the defense and get things going, instead relying on a 60-yard long ball from Goldson every 10 minutes. The midfield in front of the defense are a disjointed mess. Jack can barely keep himself fit and Lundstram seems as though he can only be arsed about 10% of the time. I don't know who the board will appoint, but he has an absolute shitfest on his hands whoever it is. I fear that Beale has set us back years with the money he's pissed up against the wall. It was an absolute dereliction of duty not spending money on a better CB option and only bringing Balogun back.
  18. Didn't meet Beale's 'useless prick' signing policy.
  19. Strongly disagree in regards to quality, but they definitely shouldn't be the pinnacle of leadership within our squad. We could definitely do with a few stronger heads to guide the squad.
  20. The new defending is dreadful. If you miss a tackle your player feels like they get stun locked.
