  1. Don't think many would disagree, but sadly a player has to be on the pitch to score goals
  2. Certainly one way of looking at it. OTOH, winning the league is much more lucrative and his wages could have been spent on a striker who might make more of a contribution
  3. Given the quality of the squad and the amount of injuries he's had to contend with, it's superb.
  4. So should we be offering one of our former players a pearl handled revolver a couple of days before the OF game? A true Rangers man would step up, I'm sure
  5. I'd still rather have more players available for the final than less, however poor he's been. Never for a moment thought it would be overturned - looked a red to me
  6. Way ahead of our other CM options at the moment. Which says a lot about the quality of our squad, I'm afraid.
  7. Main thing is I take from this match is that PC knows what he is doing. This is not a good squad of players but they look motivated and appear to know what each of them is supposed to do. There's nothing PC can do about those missed chances
  8. We are so short of central midfielders it makes our attacking options look like Man City
  9. Wouldn't mind seeing Sima in the centre with Matondo on the left
  10. I had hoped that was the idea on Sunday with just Lundstram holding and Lawrence pushing forward. Didn't really work as Lawrence was poor - if Cifuentes or Lammers had played some of those passes people would have been howling for him to be hooked. The difference, of course, is that we know Lawrence is capable of much better
  11. McCausland is a right winger, but I know what you mean - in terms of signing policy, it's just been ignored
  12. If he pulled Cantwell off to make the point that the players follow his instructions or don't play, then he couldn't really take Lammers off at that point. That said, I doubt his instructions to Lammers were "play really shite" so you could argue he wasn't following instructions either
  13. Must admit his first half performance was one of the worst I have ever seen from a CM at Ibrox. And he wasn't really any better in the 2nd
  14. Not giving up on him yet. Most of the criticism on here is justified, do they do basic coaching in the MLS? BUT - he does occasionally look as if he could do that thing Arfield used to do. You know - actually run beyond the strikers from deep. I don't see Lundstram, Jack or Raskin doing that. I'll wait and see whether Clement can make anything of him. I admit I was looking forward to hearing "Ecuador" by SASH every time he scored when we signed him, so this may be influencing my opinion
  15. To be fair to Cantwell, he has been injured and I'm not sure wide right is really his position. What these stats do show (as if we didn't know) is that there's no way Dessers should be playing in front of Danilo, who has had far less game time And as this topic is about Lammers - one assist for someone playing in number 10 position is really poor, considering the amount of game time he has had
  16. Wrong decision. But VAR was supposed to overturn obvious referring mistakes. I don't think this would come into that category.
  17. I think people are missing the point that a manager always has to have a player that he appears to favour, despite the support being convinced he's hopeless. It's the football law
  18. We made quite a few chances in the first half and Clark made several good saves. I suspect Beale's half time talk would have been to carry on with what we were doing. Clement, on the other hand, clearly wasn't happy and changed it....
  19. He's a far more clinical finisher than Sakala, though. That said, watching today, I was thinking how much better we would have been with Sakala on the right and Colak in the centre
  20. I feel sorry for him as well, but the reality is that he is simply too slow to be playing at the level we need to be at. In addition, he isn't particularly technical to make up for the lack of pace
