  6. I would agree, but I think my profile really sums up Kal. It really is up to him to show what he can acheive sometimes it looks like his attitude can let him down. I believe that is proabably the reason he has been left out of Scotland youth squads in recent times. I did comment that seeing him with the captain's armband last night was a wee bit surreal. At one point last night the three Rangers coaches were shaking their heads in frustration. Hopefully the penny will drop and he will progress and really fulfil his potential.
  7. Yes, fortunately the Rangers game kicks off at 3.30, I won't make the first game.
  8. Report from last night's game at Bonnyrigg now posted. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/
  9. Yes Selkirk are a senior team and play in the East of Scotland League, they finished 2nd bottom of the EOS Premier League last season. In their previous pre-season games, they lost 7-1 to East Fife, 1-0 to Albion Rovers, and 2-1 to Hibs Under 19's. Rangers team last night was with the exception of keeper Scott Gallagher, and one under 19 player (Christiano Kisuka)was made of under 17's and 18's. Abdul Abdulagay was officially a trialist last night, he is from the Glasgow area I think, not sure of his original background. He played a few games as a trialist at the end of last season.
  10. Report on tonight's game now posted http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/
  11. Sounds a bit like the re-election of Kim Jong-il.
  12. Right Back was Ewan McNeil, Left Back was Michael Noble, Left midfield was Dylan McGeough. Chris Scott (for Michael Noble), Kamil Wiktorski (for Andy Mitchell) at half-time. Second half subs Alan Smith (keeper lasted about 5 mins went of injured). Max Wright, Steven Hetherington
  13. Just confirming the sub goalie that lasted about five minutes was Alan Smith.
  14. A brief report can give a perception, because he had a couple of efforts on goal. Without being real stand outs Lemlembe and Gafaiti looked the better of the French players. Sam McMahon looked a real handful and first impressions were very good.
  15. Report now posted http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/
  16. The trialist was a coloured norwegian, had a great first-half. He didn't get involved much after the break.

  18. Exactly the point I was making. Any Rangers manager would get 6 months before they were under pressure to get results. I am not saying this is right, I am just saying it is a fact. Most teams that have had reputautions for producing young players are not under pressure to get results, Crewe in England, Auxerre in France for example. Ajax were a club that managed both in the past, but as I said have now gone 6 years without a title.Looking at their current youth squad, there are about a dozen players Rangers couldn't sign even if they wanted to. Any one taking over at a club like Rangers would never get the time to go down the youth route. Rangers have to do it and keep winning. The season before last Hibs were without doubt the best youth side, only one David Wotherspoon has pushed into the first team, at a club with no where near the pressure of the old firm.
  19. The Ajax thing may have been true in the past. They haven't won the Dutch Championship since 2004. Are the Ajax fans happy with the current setup or would they rather be winning the league ? I know that the messageboards would be in meltdown if Rangers went six years without winning the league. Rangers have to be competing to win the league every year, which makes the introduction of young players a lot more difficult.
  20. Wayne Drummond has been signed to play for the youth team, where i believe he will compete with Gary Inglis for the keeper's jersey. Both Scott Gallagher and Grant Adam will be back up to the first team, with one of them possibly going out on loan.
  21. Can you go along and watch these games? Yes you can go along and watch, but the development teams usually play at Murray Park. At the end of each season there is a;ways a couple of games at Ibrox. The 14's played there a couple of weeks ago, the same day the SPL title was clinched at Easter Road. Yesterday was the turn of 15's and 17's, I believe the very young kids had a games between to Rangers sides late afternoon too. It must be a great boost to the kids, not just the Rangers boys but the Dundee United and St.Mirren lads too.
