  2. Brief report on this afternoon's game now posted. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/
  3. Lots that never made the first team Andrew Caldwell Jim Redpath Ricky McIllvaney Ryan McCann John Douglas Probably another couple I can't remember at the moment. We haven't signed anyone from NI for a while. There has been lots over on trial in recent years.
  4. Haven't seen enough of him yet, he has looked okay so far. He had a good game in last season's Glasgow Cup Final. Now under 18, so would be expected to be pushing for a regular game in the youths. With the preperations for this tournament he has been away since almost the start of the season.
  5. A wee feature on the blog below. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/
  6. Report now posted http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/
  7. To answer a few points on prvious posts. Kane Hemmings came from Tamworth, I don't think he is first team material at present. Kane should be looking to have a good season in the youths and kick on from there, he can still play 19's next season. I like Gordon Dick, he tends to be a sub for the 19's and came on on Saturday. Always seems to do welll when he comes on, will be looking to break into the starting 11 soon. The big Scandanavian Turk is Isa Bagci, he was transferred to Bursapor at the end of the transfer window. The trialist against Stirling Albion was Colin Hendry's son Kyle Hendry, he came on as a late sun on Saturday. As yet still a trialist.
  8. I like Kane, he really works the central defenders and I don't think we look as dangerous when he isn't playing. He has had a couple of knocks this season but has been excellent in the last two games. Although today it was a contrast between an unbelievable first half miss and a stunning second half goal. Wiktorski has got pass mark in all the games I've seen him, but never really stood out in any of them. He has played in midfield apart from a friendly at under 17's against Queen's Park when he was in central defence. I think they see this as his long term position. A giant of a 16 year old, was a wee bit lucky today when the officials didn't spot a petulant retaliation in the first half.
  9. Won 1-0, report now posted http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/
  10. I can only remember three goals, tims & Dundee Utd at Ibrox and away to Kaunus. Its a bit like saying Ugo Ehiogu scored some important goals for us. I'm with broxi51 on this one.
  11. Every time there is a bad result people stop thinking and come out with some ridiculous ideas. If we did what you are suggesting it would not be unreasonable to expect is to lose to Hibs by a record score. The youths have failed to beat Falkirk, Motherwell and Hamilton at youth level this season. So how do you think they would fare against Hibs first team ? Out with the old firm clubs can play youngsters and lose 4/5 games in a row and nobody bothers (with the exception of a couple of thousand of their own fans). Rangers have to be competing to win the league, a single defeat is a crisis, in the media and message boards just like this. So who realistically could come in to the squad , as someone who takes more of an interest in the youths than most, here is my opinion on whats available. Alan Lowing - Out of contact in January, not likely to be considered. Steve Lennon - injured (broken foot), unsuccessful loan spell at Thistle, future lies elswhere Paul Elmslie - On trial at Beveren future lies elsewhere Rory Loy - A possible, even though his loan at Dunfermline was mixed but probably less need for a forward Jordan McMillan - Could come in a full back, but if was going to make it at Rangers would have done it before now Andy Little - Injured (Hamstring) , but I still see him as a striker Thomas Kind Bendiksen - Long term injury hardly played in past year Stephen Stirling - Not quite ready in my opinion, but midfield is becoming short in numbers, so could be a possible Andrew Shinnie - Injured (broken foot), would have featured this season I am sure Youths John Fleck - Will no doubt come in over the next few games, will the support give him a chance to learn ? Danny Wilson - Great prospect will come in sooner or later, but he is 17 and would rather see him coming in to a confident team Jamie Ness - Injured at the moment, but like Wilson will come in some time soon. Gregg Wylde - Not ready for first team still got a lot to learn. Non of the others at youth level are remotely near ready for the first team. So forget the hysterics, realistically with the injuries mentioned, its the first team squad plus John Fleck & Rory Loy with at a push McMillan and Stirling if we really short on numbers, and looking to bring in Wilson at the right time.
  12. It is a tough draw and the team lineups should be interesting. Every team has had mixed results in the youth league this season and it looks the most open for a long time. Both Rangers and Aberdeen have had players promoted to their first team squads, so it will be interesting to see how many revert to the youths for this game.

  21. Under 13's won a youth tournament in Holland this weekend, see todays "Development Teams Round Up" post. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/ More to follow
  22. Don't read too much into this result, yes the Americans were a decent side and had a few players worth looking at. They were on average around 2 years older. If Rangers had to pick an Under 18 "Academy Side" only keeper Inglis and Dylan McGeough would be likely starters from yesterdays team. It was disappointing the way they collapsed when going 0-1 down on the hour mark, up to that point it was an even game and Rangers had look most likely to score.
