  1. I wonder how they would react to the way they are talked about on here.
  2. Both good points. I admit some fans do take it too far.
  3. The idea that you aren't a fan if you're not blissfully happy is nonsense IMO. It's like when Americans say 'we all just need to trust the President.' Personally, I am happy. I think the signings will come in and we'll be as strong as last season, if not stronger. BUT I completely understand how some people can be furious with our conduct in the transfer market this season. I can also understand anger at the sale and release of some of our best players. So long as you support the current crop of players, you are doing your duty as a Rangers fan to voice your concern.
  4. 100% pay cut? Wish Bain could sort out deals like that.
  5. It's a fair point but most other teams can and have wrapped up their signings in a few weeks. If we'd managed the same we would have our targets ready after a week in training to face Killie. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with how things are going. I look forward to seeing Beattie in action. All I am saying is we may be a great team, but we aren't good at thrashing out transfers. We get led about a bit.
  6. The end is surely looming nigh of these sorts of wages. I reckon before the Olympics is over we'll see the first wage caps.
  7. We will sign players yes, but we have to be dissapointed we have left it until after the start of the season. You are risking points for every extra week it takes to blend the squad.
  8. Lay off on calling Big Lee a tool mate, I think he's a pretty useful utility player.
  9. To be honest I've noticed a change in him recently. Even on the touchline agaist Clyde (unfortunately I found myself in the Clyde end so I was right by the dugout), he was taking charge and giving stick where it was due. When Fleck came off he dealt with it well I thought. I have the same concerns raised by the OP, but I also think Ally is making the changes he needs to be a real leader. Also, don't forget that as a manager he won't have any problem getting players to bond. He'll give the players just enough freedom to enjoy their time here and be creative, while still promoting the sense of pride and professionalism necessary to wear the Rangers shirt.
  10. Maybe it was that Jackanory episode where Rick Mayall read the Art of War. Controversial at the time, but well worth it.
  11. To be honest we might just be approaching a lot of players to get the best deal. I reckon chances are we'll get Beattie and Barazite. But I also think 1 striker will leave, I don't count Fleck in there and Little is too....little just now. We'll have a good spread of strikers all hungry to play and score but not an abundance.
  12. He'll come in, score 30+ goals including 4 or 5 in the champs league then earn a shock call up to the England squad as Capello continues to rock the boat .................then I'll wake up and realise we didn't meet his wage demands.
  13. Sorry, but not sure if I believe you on all three statements.
  14. I don't know if this is just rumour or not, but if Welcome has indeed been refused a work permit then I would be furious. We should be entitiled to know on what grounds he was refused and why other players from just as far afield were granted one. With the current Jelavic debauchle and the high likelyhood of us signing a 30+ year old striker, the addition of Welcome for a fair fee would be a great addition of a young striker with plenty of potential.
  15. I'm all for it if the wages are acceptable (preferably a %) and the players are better than the first XI & want to play. Simple as that.
  16. http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=580541 << Some USA folk debating him. I don't like the sound of this "mediocre touch: not sure where his finishing skills top out." Personally I'd say no thanks - I'm sick of being linked to strikers.
  17. are u just judging him over the fact that he has commited a crime in the past, which he paid for ? if u had listened to his interview on sky sports news recentley u would have seen that he is a genuine family man and has only one thing on his mind but to get back into football and establish himself again. Would you be happy with a sex offender on our books? I wouldn't Never stopped Celtic.
  18. Everyone can say what they like for or against this player, but I guarantee if he signs it will be met with indifference by most of the support.
  19. I used to work in the Gers store and was laid off when they got shut down. Apparently we got £10 million lump sum at first and £3million each year after for 9 more years. It was a real shame when they shut down, but I was only part-time so others felt it far worse. Mind you, people like my shop manager fought with the club to get a fair pay-off for staff and they done really well.
