The worrying thing is that I can't see those four scoring that many.
Probably not, not individually at least.
He is the spearhead of our attack when he plays, I don't think anyone can doubt that. I'd be interested to see how Lafferty/Naismith reacted to being given that role and that trust.
Again, not saying that he ONLY SCORES PENALTIES before someone else accuses me of, but they make up between 5-8 goals per season for him as well, so if another striker was given the responsibility, who knows.
I'd also like to see how the team reacted to not having a recognised goalscorer in the line up.
You'll probably find out on Tuesday.
We've seen it before with all our European games under Smith.
I don't know if I'm looking for a reason to get Boyd out, but I think of 2-0 Bremen at home, 2-0 away to Sporting, 3-0 away to Lyon, 0-0 at home to Barca, even the 4-2 away to the scum.
Guess the common denominator?
True but then he also didn't feature in any of the European games that we got humped in therefore it's a moot point.
Having said that I think we've looked better this season when we've been 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 whatever you wanna call it .... and that obviously means no place for Boyd.
