  1. It's not nice getting stuffed by 4 but the reality is we're not much worse off. We all know the league has already gone and we're playing for play off promotion. Thing is, we're 2nd and would need a horrific run not to finish in the top 4. It's December and there is plenty of time for a new manager to come in and rebuild this teams motivation and tactical approach. A big step has been taken getting rid of Ally so despite today's result I think we are moving in the right direction. Getting the right man in through the door now will be the most important result, not a 4-0 defeat at Easter Road.
  2. I remember someone at the club criticising Green for his timing of comments and actions ahead of a match it was important to win.... If this is positioning by Ally then it's very hypocritical to do it merely hours before a game we must win if to have any chance of catching Hearts.
  3. Thanks for the advice guys, enjoy the game tomorrow, I'll enjoy it Wednesday. Day behind loyal
  4. Seems like good value to be honest, fiver a month for 5 games in August, pound a match for a decent stream. Why wouldn't you? Do you know if apple TV would mirror it?
  5. Living down south I don't get the chance to get to many games so was considering Rangers TV this season and trying to avoid the result till midnight and watch then. Question is, when you access the channel online can you do it without any visibility of the results? For example, if I go and click on the Hibs game on Monday will the link show up as: Rangers 3 - Hibs 1 Watch now or similar? Or would it be in a list of videos with other images that could give the game away?
  6. He should win the league, win the Ramsden, do as well as he can in the Scottish Cup and leave the club with his head held high at the end of the season that he has guided us through some difficult times. A new manager for the Championship where the level is greater that can prepare us for the top flight. No point in pushing him out right now.
  7. First game I've made it to this season, looking forward to it. 4-1's my prediction...all in the first half!
  8. Great in theory, but these events often get derailed by fans over trivial issues (ie quality of the new shirt). Those that want to avoid tough questions will let it happen too.
  9. The topic has digressed into a rabble, went through all the seasons Gretna in Division 3 with +101 is the record.
  10. In our current division the record is +69 last season followed by +67 the year Gretna went up, not sure about the rest of the leagues. Interesting a +15 goal difference has been enough for a team to win this league in the past so we should be well on the way.
  11. Appears Peralta is hitting the right notes in preseason.
  12. With the league cup draw against Forfar we now have 9 away games in a row between pre season and cup games. Can't remember such a long stretch away from home. Some of our fans are going to crank up some serious mileage.
  13. Ally has done an OK job as manager through difficult times but if you want a step change in terms of style and philosophy then there would have to be some radical changes in personal and that includes the manager. We need a culture change throughout the club from top down with focus on technical ability, nurturing talent and identifying it at a young age with a credible scouting network. Very little of that will be in place for next season. You might see some slight improvement with Ally free to dabble in the transfer market and develop the team but nothing earth shattering. We have to define our ambitions first if we are to get there. If our goal is purely to get back to the SPL and win it, Ally can achieve that with our resources in the next 5 years. If it's stylish football, a fluid passing game and sustainable investment in the transfer market and nurturing of talent I don't think we'll get that from Ally and his team.
  14. To be honest I sometimes doubt how strong UEFAs hand is. All they can do is exclude us from their European tournaments but if our league is effectively a European tournament it may not be a huge loss.... We can all just resign from our effective leagues and set up our own administrative body for the league. UEFA might invite the winners back into the tournament after a few years if there are good players playing in our league they want in their tournaments.
  15. There is a little bear who is currently going for a major operation over Christmas as he suffers from scoliosis and has a 90 degree turn in his spine. He also has type one diabetes and I was wondering if anyone knows anyone connected to the club that might be able to help us do something for him as a wee Xmas present for going into the op. A player visit would made his year but guessing that's unlikely so perhaps a signed shirt or something. Does anyone know what Rangers would normally do or how to make it happen? Any help appreciated.
  16. In this membership stand off what are the negotiables? SPL - TV rights & other financials, Dual contract investigation Rangers - TV rights, surrender of license for old PLC In any negotiation you use what the other wants and doesn't cost you much, in theory the contract investigation should be just that. It only costs the SPL one disgruntled member to let it go in exchange for our agreement on TV rights which are essential to them. I expected the TV rights debate to rumble on but if rumors are to be believed then this is agreed in principle. So why are the supposed dual contracts still an issue? I can only think of 2 possible scenarios: 1) We caved in too quickly on TV rights so the SPL don't feel they have much to loose by pursuing this 2) Someone at Celtic has something on Doncaster or he perceives them to rightly or wrongly. Has Liewell insinuated that he'd push for a vote of no confidence against Doncaster if he doesn't pursue this? It just doesn't add up, I don't subscribe to this "SPL are against us" theory. It's not about us, it's about benefits or threats to others involved or influencing.
  17. Come on, lets not get as bad as them. We're Rangers, always have been, always will be. Same for them. We support a team not a plc.
  18. If you were Charles Green how would you be playing the negotiation with the SPL/SFA/SFL? I'd go for "we're not having titles stripped, a transfer embargo or surrendering any rights....deny us membership if you want....it'll give us a case to take to UEFA to move to a different league (no option of league in own nation)." Possibly risky but they have too much to loose not voting us in. However like any gamble you'd have to be prepared for them to say "fine" and invite Spartans.... How would you play it?
  19. Commonly used word in our game at the moment integrity...what does it mean. Acting honestly, playing fair I'd say. The rules are when a company is liquidated any body applying for its space in the league goes before an SFL panel and argues their case on the basis of safety, ground etc. If the Scottish league had integrity this is exactly what would happen. Rangers, Spartans, Burnt Island Shipyard and whoever should be making the case to the board for admission into division 3. No SPL votes, no sanctions, no backdoor into division 1, no league reconstruction for a deal. How ironic is it that anyone is accusing us of infringing upon integrity, 95% of our fan base want to do what's right and written in the rules.
  20. Surely if we as fans buy up 50% of the club we only need one of CGs investors to sell to us for fan control of the club.....?
  21. I can't seem to understand the glee expressed here that it is possible some SPL teams will go under should we drop to the 3rd division. As it stands we've been in a piss poor league with a declining standard of player and less of a presence in Europe... Can you imagine the state of the SPL when we get back to it, real mickey mouse stuff and we'll be part of it. A strong SPL is in everyones interest including ours, we need the likes of Aberdeen/Dundee Utd to survive despite their attitude towards us. The current SPL fans/teams seem to care more about our demise than their own self interest.....I think many of our fans are guilty of the same accusations.
