Gio seems like the type not to play someone out of the position he thinks is their best

He sees Sakala as a winger, a backup to Kent mostly. Right hand side was Hagi and Wright, now Diallo & Wright

Strikers are Morelos, Roofe and Itten. More I think about it the more I think he'll start

I agree. Don’t think he’s used Sakala through the middle.

Surely Roofe can manage 60 minutes?

I know someone that teaches at the school he goes to and they rave about him in the school team as well, apparently some player. Sure he came on for the development squad recently as well and is only 15 I think.

Matt scored 5 for his school team today also. 12 goals in 3 matches for his school this season. 9 goals in 2 days, the lad seems to have something about him for sure!

the bookies will be loving this, while they may have paid out on a few big bets, the amount of ante post accys that Leicester have fucked by winning the league will have seen them cover the payouts probably plus they can now rub their hands at the thought of all the folk thinking "Leicester won it at 5000/1 so im going to put on a ridiculous bet for an interest".

There was a bookie on talk sport earlier saying they had already taken in the region of 800 bets for Burnley to win the Premier League next season already! ?

  4. Since we're doing public apologies I'd really like to say sorry to my mate Stevie for shagging his mum when I was 19. He knows I would never intentionally shag her, it just happened. I'll give you a PM later mate, maybe catch you for a beer! ??

I googled it, after getting it wrong to see how many Gers players had over a hunded caps.

    Marvin Andrews 101caps

    Van Bronkhurst  106 caps

    De Boer 112 caps.

De Beasley now has 123 caps.

    Jonatan Johanson 106  as well

    Bocanegra has 110

    Reyna 112

  6. I agree with you there he's nowhere near good enough to get near an all time 11 for us,doesn't mean to say he's overrated though :P

I suppose it depends what you are rating him on. For desire, passion etc I think it would be difficult to overrate him but in terms of footballing ability he was average at best!

  7. Probably right, but Albertz scored so many goals. Actually can't remember what Souness' goal ratio was.

I think I'm right in saying Albertz was up with the top scoring midfielders in Europe, something like 80 odd in 4 seasons. Souness was a completely different type of player and much more defensive midfielder/anchor man who would control the midfield and generally boss anyone he was up against, not forgetting he was an excellent ball player too!

You don't play CM in a five time league winning and three time European Cup winning team without being a pretty special player!

  8. I think it's a tough call between Albertz and Souness tbh.

I loved Albertz but Souness was on a different level than that, plus Albertz couldn't tackle a fish supper!

Maybe the Souness that played for Rangers, at that point in his career then there is a choice to make but over the course of their respective careers it's not even an discussion in my opinion!

  9. I just made a man mess in my pants!

Even when I was picking it I was thinking how fucking amazing that team would be!

We've had so many top players over the years it's impossible to pick.

I kinda feel sorry for some of the younger fans when you see them picking guys like Novo, Jelavic, Hutton etc in an all time Rangers XI. With all due respect to these players who did good jobs for us at the time, they really aren't anywhere near the level of some of the older guys!

  10. I think we'll see a few changes this week as Warburton has spoken about keeping all the players match ready and giving them game time. Maybe the GK and back 4 will remain as it's important to get some consistency at the back when we are playing such an attacking game.

Not sure what he'll start with but I doubt Eustace will be fit enough to start (if eligible) so maybe we'll see Murdoch, Walsh, Clark and Miller in and around the team this week.

Still hoping for a thumping win either way!

  11. Its the only thing i slightly disagree with that hes said or did so far. Im not wanting to sound negative towards the guy because ive been very impressed with him so far, infact im buzzing for the season, but the season doesnt start when the league kicks off, it rarely has for Rangers. In potentially two years time, our most important games could be before the league has started. So hes sort of wrong on that. I take the point though regarding this season, but he said "always starts". Thats wrong imo.

Cant wait for kick off. I expect us to raise a few eyebrows today. Mon the gers

There is no way MW is telling the players the same as he's telling the press. The players will be under no illusion of what is expected of them today. He's taken the pressure off them a little but they'll know today is the time to start producing!
