It was interesting to see Barca adopt the Levein 4-6-0 tactic! It was a good result for Chelsea but it does anger me that we were labelled 'anti-football' for doing the exact same thing, only the gulf in quality between ourselves and Barca is much greater than that of Chelsea and Barca. So you could say that with the resources Chelsea have available to them that our performance against Barca was a better one than theirs!

I think Bayern will edge it tonight. Whether they can hold on to it or not in Madrid is a different matter!

I thought I was putting my reputation on the line when I suggested playing Lee McCulloch up front wouldn't be such a bad idea! You can forget any reputation you had after that statement!!

I'm not suggesting McCulloch will provide what we are missing up front but he will give more than Healy! McCulloch isn't any slower than Healy, is no less mobile than Healy, I can't remember Healy going round a man and yes McCulloch will win more headers, tackles and hold up the ball. I actually think McCulloch could score more goals than Healy as he strikes the ball reasonably well and is decent in the air but I think more than likely the goals would come from runners from midfield when McCulloch is holding the ball up and not necessarily from McCulloch himself. I'm not sure which David Healy you are watching but his link up play is gash and constantly give the ball away. And the goals he scores are tap ins which i'm sure even McCulloch would manage to bundle over the line!

Or by the sounds of some people we could just carry on and hope our defence can deal with the ball constantly coming back at them without any rest!

Stupid fouls? At least he would be gettinng close enough to the opposition defence to make a tackle, i'm sure he'd manage a couple without giving away fouls! Yellow cards? See above! Again his willingness to fight for the ball is something we are lacking up front! Plenty of long shots wide? At least we'd be having a pop at goal and maybe one of them would be lucky enough to hit the target. Healy is offering us nothing what so ever so the choices are continue with Healy and suffer for the rest of the season or try something different! I'm not saying McCulloch is the answer by any stretch of the imagination but he'd give us some bite up front that we are severely lacking!

I've been thinking about this since yesterday and as much as I criticise Lee MCCulloch often I think he would be a better option up front than anyone else we have at the club bar Lafferty, who is injured. I don't want us to start humping long balls for him to scrap for but the defence must be tired with the ball continually coming back at them because Healy can't compete for a header or bring the ball down and hold it up. Also, if Aluko, Wylde, Wallace or anyone else for that matter managed to get wide and into a possition to throw a cross in then we'd at least have someone to aim it at! As long as we got him plenty of support in the form of Aluko, Wylde/Wallace, Celik, Kerkar, Davis and don't leave him isolated 30 yards from the nearest midfielder. Get him to hold the ball up and get runners in behind him. Healy actually gives us nothing, no pace, no energy, no strength, no guile, no aggression, no control, nothing! I would not be against the idea of playing McCulloch as a lone striker for the time being!!

Why don't all three of you come in for a trial today? We probably can't offer all three of you a deal though. However two of you will probably leave of your own accord anyway leaving one lucky starter at CF tomorrow!
