  1. Never fully understood this whole green saga He comes in and makes sure the club is still alive and fighting But some rangers don't seem that grateful ?
  2. The Paisley club has informed Ibrox chief executive Charles Green and manager Ally McCoist of their intention ahead of next week's formal vote of all 12 SPL clubs. Six top-flight clubs have already gone public with plans to reject the bid, which requires an 8-4 majority, meaning Green faces the prospect of relaunching the club in the Scottish Football League. Like others, Saints have cited "sporting integrity" for the decision, despite admitting the financial implications could lead to job losses at the club. St Mirren chiefs have also confirmed they are unlikely to sign any new players until the situation surrounding Scottish football becomes clearer. Chairman Stewart Gilmour said in a statement on the club's website: "It should be made clear to all St Mirren supporters that I met with Charles Green, Alistair McCoist and other representatives of Rangers Newco last week. "I made it perfectly clear that our directors' view was that our club would not be voting for a Newco entry to the SPL, directly to the officials of Rangers Newco. "This meeting was held in confidential circumstances to allow both parties to enable the other to see their respective positions. "A very positive meeting was held. However, the position of St Mirren has not changed and our stance of sporting integrity was maintained against the very pressing commercial arguments." He added: "Regrettably, the commercial, and hence financial, impact is still not clear to the club. "We are very hopeful that this aspect will become clearer in the next few days. "This will play a major part in the decision-making for the board of directors as to the way forward for the club in the short term. "We are obviously hoping that our commercial and television partners stay with the league through this very difficult period. "It has been impossible for the clubs to downsize as quickly as we would like due to the contractual obligations of the club. "These are considerable and must be maintained to ensure the club does not slip into the fate of others. "It is possible that major cutbacks may have to be made within the company. "This may well involve people in the club losing their employment - not a good situation - so please accept that the club will be unlikely to be signing any new players until this situation is clear. "Naturally, we hope that if our partners do not invoke exit clauses in their contracts, we would not have to go down this route. "The decision on those matters is outwith the control of the club. "Let us hope that the possible scenarios are not as severe as they could possibly be and that we show those partners our support to convince them to support Scottish football." On the issue of league reconstruction, Gilmour said: "As events unfold this may be an opportunity for real change in Scottish Football. "St Mirren shall throw their weight totally behind a 16-team league structured in a similar way to the Belgium system, with a large number of crossover games at the end of the season to determine relegation, European places and champions."
  3. Just say we go to division 3 - surely green will walk away from us if it happens ?
  4. And yet they did nothing about it - go fuck yourself sfa
  5. Glasgow Rangers have confirmed on their official Twitter feed that they have reported "unacceptable sectarian abuse" of Enniskillen's Andy Little to the police. Little who is a free agent after his contract with the troubled Scottish outfit expired, had received abuse on social network site Twitter and responded on Tuesday via his Twitter account by calling the perpetrator "a vile human being" whom he would not give "the pleasure of having his latest sectarian tweet broadcast to everyone." Northern Ireland international, and former Ballinamallard United player Little was the guest of honour at the Model Primary School's Presentation Night on Tuesday and later that night he tweeted: "Got a good education and learned some manners at that school - pity a couple of people on twitter tonight hadn't done the same!" On their own twitter feed, Rangers stated on Tuesday that: "The club has this evening been made aware of unacceptable sectarian abuse directed at Andrew Little. The matter will be reported to the police." Meanwhile, Little's fellow Fermanagh man Kyle Lafferty has indicated his intention to leave the club. Lafferty is among a group of players who have lodged objections to their transfer to a "newco" Rangers. A statement from lawyer Margaret Gribbon of Bridge Litigation read: "Allan McGregor, Steven Davis, Jamie Ness and Kyle Lafferty have instructed PFA lawyers Bridge Litigation UK to object to their transfer to the Rangers' newco." Charles Green's newco Rangers has submitted an application to be granted entry into the Scottish Premier League and will face a vote by all 12 top-flight clubs on July 4. However, enough clubs have already stated they will be voting against Rangers' application to leave the new club facing the prospect of having to apply for entry to the Scottish Football League.

  13. Since when has having a Newco meant that history gets wiped ? Look at Leeds utd similar newco situation and they kept their history Why shouldnt rangers ?
  14. Hibs have barely any money left so I am guessing they will be in admin within this year. And they will have only themselves to blame
  15. THE player may leave Rangers, but Rangers will never leave the player. Ibrox legend Ian Durrant has believed that all his life. But last night the Ibrox coach revealed his fears that current first-team stars won’t realise it until they have gone. Durrant, 45, played 249 times for the club that’s part of his heart and soul. He only left to join Kilmarnock in 1998 after the club’s historic nine-in-a-row era was over. Now the one-time magical midfielder fears seeing an entire squad quit the club. But he’s promised them they will NEVER replace what they have at Rangers. Durrant told SunSport: “The financial side of things is important, sure, but football is about enjoyment and, for me, growing up a bluenose there was no greater feeling than playing for Glasgow Rangers. “I was lucky enough to be part of a very successful period. “We attracted and kept so many great players like Laudrup, Gascoigne, Gough, Goram, Brown, Albertz. “Before that the club had greats like Cooper and Greig. “When you play for Rangers there’s an affinity you get you don’t get anywhere else. “We’re in dark days right now and there will be dark days ahead, I’m sure there will. “The players are looking at the situation and may believe it’s better for them to leave. “Fine, if that’s what they want, but I’ll tell them they won’t get what they have at Rangers anywhere else. “Once a bluenose, always a bluenose and although you might leave the club the club never leaves you. “Whatever the players choose, they’ll eventually realise their best days ever were at Rangers.” Durrant has watched Rangers players give the club a lot in the last few months. It’s not been success and silverware, it’s been hard cash. But the former Scotland ace insists the Ibrox stars still owe the supporters one thing, and that’s some honesty. Boss Ally McCoist demanded they be truthful about their reasons for quitting the club if and when they walk out the door, and Durrant agrees. He added: “In a coaching sense I’ll be gutted if boys leave. You want to keep your best players. “They may be looking at a situation where they could be asked to drop down a division — missing out on Europe too, which is HUGE. “I don’t think it’s a financial thing, it’s purely about the level of football they’ll be playing at. “But if that’s the way they feel then the manager is right, they need to be up front about it. “Some supporters might accuse them of jumping ship, so be open, tell the punters WHY they’re leaving. “They’re the ones who deserve to know more than anyone. They’ve raised fortunes for the fighting fund and need to know the truth. “To be fair to the gaffer, he’s gone out on a limb to protect everyone in the last few months. “What he’s had to cope with for the last year has been unbelievable. “Football has become secondary with everything that’s gone on and reading between the lines I think all the manager is looking for is honesty. “That’s the key here. The gaffer has been straight with everyone throughout this and all he’s looking for is the same in return.” Durrant has been tight with old team-mate McCoist for almost 25 years and no one knows the Rangers gaffer better. Asked what it’s been like for him Durrant doesn’t need time to think. He says: “Stressful. “I say that, but he’s still been brilliant. It’s like he gets up in the morning and puts on a suit of armour. We’re also all still learning, remember, but by God we’ve had to learn quickly this past year. “But to be fair to the gaffer he’s done magnificently. “Taking over from Walter Smith was never going to be easy, but who could have predicted this? “For three or four months we got the football side of things going, but then all of a sudden all the financial things at the club emerged. “Football became secondary and we had to learn a side of things we knew nothing about. “No one can prepare you for administration and seeing people lose their jobs — and I’m talking about people who’d been at Ibrox for years. “But from the gaffer’s point of view there hasn’t been a board of directors to help him, guide him. “It’s all been on his shoulders and I’m telling you, he’s been brilliant. “He’s been an absolute rock. Ask anyone at the club, his door is always open.” Durrant just can’t believe it’s come to this, his beloved Rangers being knocked from pillar to post. He added: “The whole thing is beyond belief. I’m on holiday right now and usually when I’m away people stop to ask about football, but not this year. “There’s no noise-up, no patter, it’s all serious talk about what’s happening and what’s going to happen. “I look at the situation and find the whole thing unbelievable. “This is Rangers we’re talking about and yet here we are. “Obviously the other SPL clubs are looking after themselves and it looks like most of them are against us in terms of the newco. “But for me those clubs will lose out on a lot of money. “Only time will tell if voting us out of the league is for the best. “I just hope and pray that in time we recover and get back challenging again. “We might face a challenge but we’re used to that. “The club is on its knees right now, but we will be back. Trust me. It’s too big an organisation, too big an institution, not to. “With the fans backing Mr Green and the players who stay, hopefully, we can recover sooner rather than later.”
  16. Naismith is likely to go to everton ..... I guess Whittaker is likely to play for a eastern European team. One bit I don't understand about the video is that they keep saying " lost history " . We still have our history and that will never go away. Someone tell these player that it was the company that changed - NOT the club ?
  17. With all the good players leaving now I really hope mcgregor and Davis stay
  18. Hope the queen washes her hands after shaking it with this murderer
  19. This is the beginning of the end for the spl - Celtic and others rallying against each other until the sitiuation gets worse. While we Rangers fans sit back enjoy and laugh at the karma that bites them
  20. CELTIC fans will rubber-stamp plans to boycott clubs who vote to allow newco Rangers into the SPL at an EGM tomorrow. And it has emerged Hoops diehards will also take action if SPL rivals try to slash Celtic’s income by pushing through new financial rules next month. SPL clubs will vote on proposals to change the majority needed for significant decisions from 11-1 to 9-3 at an AGM on July 16. With newco Rangers now almost certain to be refused entry into the SPL by then, the 11-1 vote needed to carry this motion is likely to be achieved. This could isolate Celtic and give other SPL clubs the power to push through rules to increase their income. But a mass boycott of away grounds could take place if Hoops fans feel SPL sides are guilty of trying to weaken their club. Writing on the Celtic Supporters’ Association website, fans’ chief Joe O’Rourke said: “Why should Celtic suffer for the sins of another club which is now dead? “Celtic and other teams are going to lose revenue because people in power failed to act. “Some Celtic fans won’t renew their season ticket if a newco is allowed into the SPL. “Now we have the added problem of the other ten SPL clubs trying to change the voting system with regards to financial affairs in the SPL. “If changes need to be made they should be done by discussion and mutual agreement.”
