Are Rangers actually close to signing Mendes?

he's not a "very good player" at all. Yes he is. No he's not. He is a decent Centre-back. Cardiff will be laughing all the way to the bank with this 1. Cardiff want to keep him, but much like us with Cuellar he wants to play elsewhere so they have no choice but to sell him. Yet again we miss out on a player who has high financial value and has numerous clubs chasing him and now it will probably be a case of signing a far lesser player for about one third the price. taken from a cardiff fan... No 3 million is a joke from the way you look at it. End of the day he was our number one target and we spent months watching him. We have missed out on him for the sake of £500,000. We now have 17 days to build a opinion/dossier on a new target which isn't enough time and i going to lead to yet another last minute signing that will probably fail. I'am sure they have plenty of info on other players that intrest them plus they'll probably have loads of agents alerting them to players besides just cos we have'nt heard anything dose'nt mean they have'nt enquired about other players. I'am not too worried, plenty of time to bring players in. I think our defence is ok just now anyway considering were not in Europe anymore.

I think we should look at it positivly, this is the kick up the arse this team needs, hopefully they'll react in the right matter against Kaunas. We have to remember that Aalborg awaits us and we more than capable of beating them too, we've been lucky in terms of the draw. Also theres still plenty of time to bring players in, we know Walters now looking to bring in 1 or 2 creative midfielders(judging by his comments the day!) Exactly and it was a friendly, relax folks, if he's still making mistakes over the next couple of games then you should question his place in the first team. McGregor is class!

This has to be the most ludicrous post so far. We have people blaming the Police, the failure of the big screen, English casuals and now C*ltic fans. Who next the CIA? Can we just all accept that like all clubs there is a section of our support who are drunken violent scum and were waiting for an opportunity. If our support, even an element, are such drunken scum, then, why does this not happen at every game? Try to use some perspective The reason was because it was so easy for the ned element among Rangers fans to get to Manchester. It's only something like £3.50 for a megabus ticket for fuck sake. They' re not real fans who go to all the games, they only came cos it was a European final!!!
