  1. I think he's poor from the technical aspect of the game. Works hard and pops up with a few goals but he's a really poor footballer imo.
  2. Goodwillie, Gomis, Bartley & Weiss. Chose Gomis over Eremenko because we don't need a creative midfielder as badly as we need a defensive one (that's if Ness can sort out his injury problems and Davis can find his consistency, we'd also have Weiss). No Gomis would mean relying on Edu or McCulloch and that's just wrong.
  3. Zhirkov against Hamburg was a beauty. Ronaldinho scored a fucking beast against AC Milan as well. Look at the pass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZa6BFdjn3M 3:08...
  4. Maybe just me but I thought Butt could've done better with that. Great strike though, no denying it. Goalkeeper was suspect though.
  5. Who gives a fuck if he's a Bear or a Tim. Is he better than what we've got? That's the question and the answer is no, imo. I'll pass.
  6. Before tonight, every Real Madrid red card against Barcelona this season was correct. His obsession with Barcelona and Guardiola in particular is embarrassing. He's a hypocritical prick. His treatment of Anders Frisk was embarrassing. He claims Guardiola goes on about referees, he's got a fucking cheek. His sides are always dirty bastards. I'll never forget Essien's "tackle" on Hamann in the Champions League years ago. Never got sent off and Mourinho "never saw it".
  7. I'm unsure. I'd rather Goodwillie and if we got him then no point going for Nugent who'd want a fair wage to sit on the bench every week.
  8. It'll be a shame if he can't sort his fitness issues out. He's clearly got a lot of ability and had established himself as a first team regular. For all of Jelavic's class this year, I still think Ness has scored the best Rangers goal this season.
  9. Good luck to the lad. You've certainly had faith in him for a long time. You've got to be his dad or something, surely...
  10. Good result for us (if we win the league). Don't fancy the risk in having to play a few qualifiers, the first of which there is no Europa parachute if we were to slip up.
  11. Brilliant pass for the Giggs goal. Hitting form at just the right time of the season, something Man United seem to be the masters of.
  12. When did I put words in your mouth?
  13. He's shite, and was shite before he came up here. When he signed people were saying he was one of the best players to play in Scotland. Bollocks, that's an insult to some of our past players! Fair play he gets it right up them but give me a Rangers shirt and I'll do that too whilst offering something on the pitch.
  14. The worst defender in Scotland that doesn't play for Celtic! Ugliest one too.
  15. What's your basis for calling him a horrible cunt? The fact he prefers Celtic? Big wow. Don't even bring up the prostitutes to suit your argument because you know and I know you don't give a fuck about him cheating with hookers. If the seriously strong rumours are true about Ryan Giggs does he suddenly become a horrible cunt and go from the nation's darling to public enemy number one? No, of course not. Funny that, eh? There will be hundreds of footballers who fuck about with prostitutes behind their wife's/girlfriend's backs. Wouldn't even rule out one of our players doing it tbh, it's that common. Would they be a horrible cunt too? Again, of course not. My mistake. Don't worry though, you'll have plenty of back up charging in to the thread in a minute with plenty of " " smileys in hand.
  16. Your arguments are absolutely pathetic and seriously fucking flawed. Ozil got subbed in the Copa Del Rey final and Di Maria didn't therefore Di Maria is better. Brilliant logic. I think fitness comes into it with Ozil and getting subbed, quite clearly. I'll play you at your own game though. Who came off the bench and changed the game in Madrid's favour in the last game at the Bernabeu? That's right, it was Ozil. What did Di Maria do in that game? Nothing at all. That's right. I really don't give a fuck who Jose Mourinho favours. My own personal opinion is that Mesut Ozil is better than Di Maria and you giving me statistics about who lasts longer in a match isn't going to change it. Who performed at the World Cup and who didn't? Swings and roundabouts mate. Onto Rooney... you showing me the average position of him on the pitch won't change my mind on his style for the 09/10 season. It's quite clear that his season was based on goals more than it was his usual game. Of course he's going to play behind Berbatov. It'd be disastrous to play Berbatov behind Rooney considering the style of Berba. Last season his main objective was to get the goals for Man United because he was the only real goalscoring threat. This season he is not and he is back to his regular style. You can't tell me that Rooney, last season, played similar to what he had done for the previous 3 title winning seasons at Man United. And I didn't claim that Fabregas wasn't an AM. I claimed that he and Wilshere regularly swap roles during a match, which they undoubtedly do. There's plenty of matches where it's Wilshere bursting into the box and getting involved in the link up play around the area with Fabregas sitting much deeper. Football would be quite boring and often end up in draws if players never swapped positions to try and break down a stubborn opposition. As for your Raul part. Do you even understand what versatility means. It's nothing to do with him tracking back. I'm pretty sure that part of his game is down to work rate, not his versatility. The fact he's so versatile means you can stick him in numerous positions throughout a match and expect a good return from him. He can play striker, just behind a striker, on the wing and in centre mid and do them all to a very high standard. I'm not doing Raul any injustice by saying he wasn't as good a footballer as Rooney at his best... Raul, at his best, was a very good player and an incredible goalscorer. Rooney at his best is a very good goalscorer and an incredible footballer. See the difference and where I'm coming from? Probably not, because it doesn't suit your agenda. No dig with the Di Maria comment either. I was deadly serious considering how highly you seem to rate the lad. Notice how I never even mentioned Ozil until you hinted at it? So, no, no dig at all, just an observation.
  17. Pathetic tbh. Nobody says Rooney is up there because he's versatile. You know that but you can't resist getting a snide wee jibe in, so fair enough. But when talking about a players' attributes then versatility has to come into the discussion if said player excels in several roles. Franz Beckenbauer was versatile. Could perform to an insanely high level in a number of roles. I don't think he's up there with Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi or Iniesta. Where is the shame in that though? Nobody, in the history of football is as good as Messi in my opinion. My comment was he's in the top 5 in the world and I stand by that. He's no worse than the players you mentioned earlier on. The fact he has more to his game than all of them gives him the edge.
  18. Shite player but doesn't deserve abuse personally from fans. It's the manager who chooses him. Out of order that.
  19. Agreed with this. One of the best passers in the world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9AxooUtsU0 (2:11 in that video )
  20. Simmer down, you. Brilliant player, brilliant person. Love him.
  21. Playstation Network? More like Playstation Notwork!
  22. I did watch him in every game last season. He was excellent in the games you mention from a goalscoring point of view. Which is what his game in 09/10 was based on. This season there's other strikers who're on top form which has given Rooney the freedom to drop deeper into midfield which is what has always come natural to him. Why wouldn't I bring up his "20 minute show" against West Ham? Had any of the players you mentioned as better than him scored a 20 minute hat trick to dig their team out of a huge hole in a title race you'd rightly bring it up, wouldn't you? That's not even mentioning the quality of two of the goals. A fantastic free kick and a fantastic first touch and finish. Other games that he's been great in this season? Probably most games he's played since the 1st of February and they played against Aston Villa. It was a brilliant performance from him and the team. His goalscoring hasn't been as prominent but, like the article states, goals aren't everything. His all round play has been brilliant. His partnership with Hernandez has probably done enough to steer United to the title. He was brilliant in all 3 games against Chelsea so far this season. Raul, even at his best, was never as good a footballer as Rooney. Eto'o too. Better goalscorers, sure. Better finishers, clearly. Better off the ball movement, again yes. Better all round footballers? Not a chance. Would rather have Rooney than Sneijder too. Every bit as good a passer, better work rate, more of a goal threat, more versatile. Surprised you haven't stated that Di Maria is better than him... The fact he's English counts against him. It's sad.
  23. Rooney's all round game last season was poor. He was a poacher for most of the season who relied on Valencia's crossing (as proven by the amount of headers he scored). His all round game this season on the other hand has been much better but his goalscoring not so much. He's found his touch and passing range again. His "performances" were only more important because there was no Hernandez to bag double figures in goals. There wasn't an on form Dimitar Berbatov. There was Wayne Rooney and Antonio Valencia. United's season went to shit when Rooney got injured against Bayern. If he got injured tonight against Schalke and didn't play again I still think they'd comfortably win the league and reach the Champions League final. I think you're being incredibly harsh by saying he isn't even in the top 10 in the world. Who's better? Name 10 players who are better.
