STEVEN NAISMITH has been rewarded for his goal in Nuremberg at the weekend with a start against SC Wiedenbruck tonight. The 22-year-old was impressive in the second half of the 2-0 win at the Frankenstadion as he found the net for the first time in well over a year. And he starts on the left side of a four-man midfield on a glorious evening in Germany as the Light Blues bring their tour to an end. Naismith represents the only change to the team which started against Bundesliga outfit Nuremberg two days ago. With that said, it is expected there will be plenty of changes at half-time as Walter Smith gives some of his fringe players an opportunity to shine too. Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller start up front as the formation changes from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 and Charlie Adam, Pedro Mendes and Steven Davis are in midfield. Neil Alexander starts in goal with Steven Whittaker, Madjid Bougherra, David Weir and Sasa Papac are in front of him in defence. It is a glorious evening and the balmy conditions will be a test for Gers as they prepare for their weekend trip to the Emirates Tournament in London. I would have liked to see a couple of players drafted in but the squad was too big and needed trimmed , although i would still like to see the back of players like Adam and McCulloch i think we are more than capable of retaining the title but as for Europe well thats another matter !!!

It really does beggar belief but yes i do think Walter will still use him when injury occurs or maybe even as marc RFC said in old firm games just to add a bit of dig and Rangers mentality as he is certainly not the most skillfull player !!!

I am a great believer of "your captain should lead from the back" so i would give it to big Madjid Bougherra although Davie Weir is captain he is more captain caveman and as much as i respect the big man i fear that he no longer has the pace to cope !!!
