If i remember correctly Osasuna had quite a few defenders on there books at the time. I think they changed most of there defence in the 2nd leg against us but looked no worse for it. Be interesting to see how Cuellars form for us is being talked about in the Spanish media.

Eriksson was wrong to take him to the WC. Far too young. It wasnt as if he was unheard of either at the time. He was tearing defences apart for Southampton. Still, hes come on leaps and bounds lately. I wouldnt compare him unfavourably to Rooney, Messi etc. Different players mature at different ages. Not all players who turn out to be world class are wonderkids at 18 years old.
