  1. For someone who posts under 100 posts? Explain the significance of that comment. Quality over quantity and all that!!! Being called a 'moron' by you? Haha...Listen, I have an opinion that you shouldn't be a Director on this Forum, now as someone who respects other peoples opinion, and calls for his own to be respected, I'm sure you will allow me that 'opinion'.
  2. He is 100% correct, you are not fit to be in any position on this Forum.
  3. who are you to tell anyone to 'man up'? 'Man up' being what exactly? GFG is being perfectly reasonable, it could be argued that he has been come in for a fair bit of abuse whilst doing so. now, define 'man up'?
  4. This is, by far, the worst thing I've read on here. Now, this is what I asked, 'where is this going?'-and here we see where it is going. Time to consider the real motives of some who have contributed to this.
  5. GFG, well said, these two sound like fairly bad. When someone asked what would happen if his son was 'smacked', what was that a euphemism for?- you're not in a Ray Winstone film, so if you meant punched, say punched. Throughout the ages of football hooliganism, the same lame excuses have been used: 'they were on our patch'. Stop the chivalry, the defending of woman, pensioners and young kids, the fact is they don't need mob rule, and no, don't defend me either. And as for the PC comment, was that meant for me? - PC, don't make me laugh, there is only one conformist when it comes to you and me. Also, was that a threat to a fellow fan, on the 'PRW'? - the very fan you make such an excuse to defend? Hmmm.
  6. What World do I live in? The same World you live in, and every other Rangers fan, lives, who was taken apart by an ignorant media all too ready to demonise the Club, like they did by a non event in Romania last year, when they blew it out of proportion. Right, I really need to go now, but you have one fan asking if they would have to 'call the police', no need I expect, if the police wouldn't see Man Utd fans kicking into someone, before such a high profile match, I'd be very surprised, and in Paisley Road West of all places.
  7. I'm sorry, but my lunch-break is over in a minute, so if I don't come back about this, that is the reason. You said that if you saw 'a bunch of Manc fans kicking fuck out of a fellow Bear' in Paisley Road West before a high-profile CL, in fact thee high profile CL match. Now, tell me, where would the police be at this moment, because they swarm Paisley Road West before even a match with St Mirren, never mind a match of this capacity
  8. I'm saying nothing of the kind, so don't put words in my mouth. I'm saying that there is a dangerous undercurrent developing here. I actually believe the stories I'm reading, there is a recurrent theme that designates an element of truth to them, but again, I ask, 'where is this going?' We need to be careful how we navigate both matches, and I'm talking about off the park matters, the Club's reputation comes first. If Man Utd fans are involved in violent behaviour then that should be brought to the attention of the Authorities.
  9. Obviously, that is the case, my argument is that Miller could be doing this better- I'll hazard a guess that the Rangers offer(First or Second) will not place the long-term welfare of Kenny's 'young family' in jeopardy.
  10. Where is all this going, I wonder? There is far too much fighting talk from some people, which is the last thing the Club needs at this present time. I think some fans are playing the media's game here, and I find that concerning. I think this Forum should be focused on the match, rather than the claims that woman and kids are being punched in Paisley Road West. If that is the case, and woman and children are being assaulted, they have recourse to take it to the Law, no? But, it would be nice, when reading about our forthcoming CL fixtures, if the football was the predominant issue.
  11. The Story is not 'nothing'. Often, I read fans ask where the quotes are, that isn't always the pre-requisite to a story having leverage or not; things are said off the record all the time, and the off the record comments will often dictate the narrative a story will take. I think that is the case here when it says that 'Miller opened his heart to The Record', and when 'he admits that will a "young" family to think of', often that gives the journalist the lead. This story isn't irrelevant to Miller's negotiating strategy, he is obviously playing the media, along with his agent, and either hoping to extract an even higher offer from the Club or engineer a bigger offer elsewhere. All this is fine, to a degree, but 'opening his heart up' about whether to take one megabucks offer over another is a plight that many fans will find it hard to shed tears over. A Cowdenbeath player complaining about the welfare of his 'young family, might just find a degree of sympathy with the working man and woman of Scotland, not a multi-millionaire footballer. Sorry Miller, you are playing this one wrongly. Be straight, if you want to go, then go, if you are having problems with wanting more, fine, but less of the victim-speak, most fans ain't buying it.
  12. As far as I'm concerned Kenny Miller has gone beyond the mark today, with his comments to the Daily Record. We have the 'I have the family to consider' line, and the indignity of the reporting suggesting that 'if Rangers can "scrape" enough money together...etc'. One thing fans will in no way abide is the rich footballer playing the victim to supplement any greedy demands. Martin Bain came out publicly and stated the Club had gone another mile to meet Miller's demands- I take it the player would have been offered something, if not the same, then better than what Lee McCulloch was happy to accept. I supported Miller, and asked my fellow fans to back him, when he came back, as far as I'm concerned the Club has gone as far as it can, and we should seriously consider whether he has a future, or not, at this club. The Club is bigger than any player, if Miller leaves then the only way is down. I'm grateful for his commitment during his time here, but any player who goes public with the Club, in the way Miller has done today, is not a player I have any great support for- it is not the Rangers way.
  13. Glad to read this post: I have chatted to Man United fans from time to time and never met one that had a special fondness for Celtic, possibly this is a myth perpetuated by TGFITW, who 'everybody loves'. Anyway, I hope this type of article won't the standard one up to the match; let's emjoy the match, and remember every fan of Rangers is a true ambassador of the Club, when we play away or at home, let's make friends where possible.
  14. yeah, too true. I'm not old enough to have seen him, but would love to have him around now
  15. What does the phrase 'sums up Smith' allude to exactly? Does Laudrup 'sum up Smith', or Gascoigne, Albertz, Cuellar, Bougherra, or Davis...do these 'sum up Smith' at all? Grow up, as an earlier point what was made: were you there at the negotiating table? And who is the manager of Rangers, you or 'Smith'? - yes, exactly...and why might that be? Walter Smith has never let Rangers down, so why not just give his signings a chance, all of them, including Foster.
  16. Being Scottish, and playing for Rangers, shouldn't be an impediment to be a great player, it should be a by-product. Look at the guile of the man, the Scottish attitude. Where are they now? Oh, to have another one like him!
  17. I wouldn't want us having anything to do with playing in England. Look at Everton, Aston villa, and Liverpool- it isn't exactly trouble free. Rangers is a Scottish club, yes, we are British, but we belong to the Scottish league system, and I hope that's the way it stays. You do have to wonder at the timing of all this though and the inconsistencies in Dermott Desmond's statement, particularly in regard to a Wage/Revenue/Debt ratio. His Club are spending at quite a high proportion of revenue, wages that far exceed any other, ours included, in the our League. So, it makes you wonder, is there trouble 'at mill'?! There is nothing that would appall me more, as a fan of this great Club(The Rangers), than for Rupert Murdoch to be determining the destiny it takes in the next few years.
  18. Kenny Miller was going nowhere fast till Walter became Scotland manager, and he and Ally worked on his confidence and so on; if he goes, he goes. The Club gave him an improved offer, and if that's not good enough, then that's not good enough, but we should not offer him another penny- the Club has gone as far it can, take it or leave it Miller.
  19. if he goes, he goes. I'm a Rangers fan, period; the players only mean something if they either play for the club, or were legends in the club's history. so, I will not be kneeling at Kenny Miller's feet begging him to stay- this is Rangers, not Montrose, and yet fans get hysterical at the thought of him leaving. If Kenny Miller goes tomorrow or the next day, fine, but Rangers will still be here.
  20. This journalist plays with the story a little- The Herald being rather more conservative(Levein stating 'any' player being free to leave the base)with it, but, still, you have to wonder if this is KM leaving. Hope not.
  21. http://www.<No links to this website>/football/scotland/news/2010/08/31/levein-i-ll-let-kenny-miller-leave-scotland-camp-to-complete-deadline-day-transfer-if-it-means-he-s-focused-for-lithuania-86908-22525745/ Losing Kenny Miller will be quite a mistake, depending on what he is asking for and what we are prepared to offer.
  22. Apart from the Ibrox Disaster, when it comes to football, without doubt, the Souness story. I was quite young at the time, but you could tell this was something major happening.
  23. An immature question, which fails to realise and appreciate the relationship with those we love etc, and a Football Club. Does loving our partners/girlfriends diminish what feel for, in this case, Rangers?-of course not, but it puts Rangers in a materialistic facet, which betrays the role the Club should really mean. Rangers is special, probably to everyone who has signed up to this Forum, the extent to which it is special is not diminished because we have greater love for the people in our lives.
  24. My abiding memory of Derek is when Advocaat asked him to do a job on the wing against PSV, and, typically, he did it, after rarely getting a game in that team. Never played the victim, unlike some. So, he wanted to win today, so what.
  25. I've always liked Derek, did ok when he came to us, at a time when it was hard for many players to get into our side. He has always lived like a professional, looking after himself etc.
