  1. Wi-fi in my work is brilliant too. Doing a nightshift in NZ, watching the game.
  2. Not racial streotyping, just national sterotyping. The sooner we get that nailed the better so we can also get "Irish" removed as a race and returned to it's proper status as a nationality.
  3. Dutchy, have you seen the Roman technique for laying large mosaics with fine tesserae? They drew the pattern on a piece of fine material so that they could see the pattern on the reverse. Using a water soluble glue, the fine tesserae were glued to the pattern on the reverse of the material. This allowed them to move the pattern about until they were happy with it. Only then did they set it in mortar and they removed the material with water once the mortar set.
  4. If she has been charged and the case is not brought to court they have broken the law on two counts. Count 1: No defendent under 18 may be named unless special dispensation is given by the court. Count 2: Between charging and the case proceeding, the case is sub-judice and the name of all defendents is suppressed in the interest of not prejudicing their case. Her defence now have an instant get out of jail free card and the BBC a contempt of court charge.
  5. These are consecutive league wins but there are losses in other competitions during these league runs. We are looking at consecutive wins across all competitions.
  6. Quite right. We can only play what we have in front of us.
  7. Technically, New Zealander, normally referred to as Kiwi especially in marketing. (100% Kiwi owned and operated).
  8. Why don't you improve the gene pool and play Russian Roulette with an automatic pistol.
  9. Thanks Jon. Good work there. Thanks for the steer. The Scums "record" doesn't count as there were defeats or draws in other competitions during that run.
  10. I am looking at consecutive wins across all competitions. Given that the record from Coritiba is 24 win everything to East Fife on 11th Jan for the record outright.
  11. WTF? Someone get this eejit a brain implant. It'll have to be an implant, not a transplant as there isn't one in situ just now.
  12. I have contacted the Guinness Book of Records as I haven't been able to get the answer online to "What is the highest number of consecutive winds in league football(soccer)?" They told me World Cup (15) and Champions League (5) but I pointed out the 18 League and 4 cup wins of 1898/99 and asked them to carry out furhter research. We may have another World Record already to rub into the Scums faces.
  13. I would like us to win with flair and elan every game but there are times when that will just not be possible e.g. teams playing eleven man defence with an added dose of "clog 'em as they try to get past you" and we have seen that this season. I expect us to win the league at a canter but what I want is the record of a perfect league season. It doesn't matter who you are playing because to pull off thirty-six league wins in ANY league is a true achievement.
  14. If we get to 18 League wins on the trot then we have matched the record of the 1899 season. 36 will be pushing it but what a target that would be. We can but live in hope.
  15. And if you are of a slightly older generation it is indelibly linked with the Damian series of films.
  16. Spotted you, CHCH. Couple of my workmates popped into the office after the All Whites game and said it was a cracker but given they know naff all about football, I took it with a pinch, ok a large handful, of salt. Porirua is WGTNs equivalent of the crappier areas of the East End and would only be improved by burning down the NZH estates and rehousing their inhabitants 200 km west in the Abel without a boat.
  17. Why don't do something a little more sensible than your suggestion, like playing on a pogo stick in a minefield?
  18. My condolences to you and your family.
  19. I wish I could vote. I lost the right to vote in this farce when I moved to NZ but I can still vote in UK elections. Stitch up anyone?
  20. IN NZ and Australia, the major act of commemoration is on 25th April, ANZAC Day, at dawn no matter which day of the week it is. I live in Wellington. Get up at 0415, taxi 0500, arrive 0510, fall in, march to the cenotaph, service, speeches then: Sunrise, 2 minutes silence. Laying of wreaths. March off with Pipes and Drums to the local Marae (Maori tribal house) for gunfire and biscuits. At 11am the politicians do their political stuff at the grave of the unknown soldier in the National War Memorial, but you can note the veterans point of view. Their absence is telling.
  21. Thanks- got all the stuff. I've had a couple of Wellingtonians ask me what the WATP on my hoodie means.
  22. I worked it out for my own thread. Mar 18th at home to Dunfemline.
  23. By my calculations, 18 more League wins until the title is mathematically won. Still 15th March Dunfermline at home.
  24. Time to burst the bubble and it is in Scotland too. Brora Rangers, played 9 won 9 so far in the Highland League. I only found this out as I clicked on the Highland League Table by accident last week.
