I'm in Wisconsin at the moment for a month, watching the Packers but been to a couple of Bucks games in Milwaukee. They are getting better and are fun to watch. Too bad Jabari Parker got hurt

With great thanks to everyone at the Louden Tavern I shall be selling Poppies for the Royal British Legion as well as centenary badges and a few other bits and bobs. Hopefully outside in the beer garden if the weather is kind ! Come and drop a few coins in the tin !

There are a million ex service personnel in the UK at any one time. As a few of you on here know I do a lot of work for the Royal British Legion (voluntary) the work we do is not just to remember the fallen but to give support and hope to a great number of amazing people that sometimes find it tough to cope after they have served. I'm extremely proud of the work to RBL does and also extremely proud that the club I love honours our armed forces in the way they do. Lest we forget. Oh and if you see me in the Louden before or after the game then buy a poppy badge from me !

It was one of my first games, was great to meet you BTW still working my way through the programmes lol It was an amazing night but with my Yorkshire twang I went unnoticed by the legions of Leeds fans who were raging.

Rangers are generally liked and well respected in Stoke, no hatred here. Quite the opposite in 99% of cases

Well I stayed there last weekend and all the staff were having a late drink and as a regular guest they invited me to join them. Ended up a 5am finish ! The hotel will apparantly reopen in April as a 4 star hotel and will be chain owned, the hotel was doing well and making money but they want there own new staff and a refurb. Most of the staff have got other job, Paul the late batman is at the holiday inn at the airport and nikki the head receptionist is at a hotel in town. If any regulars want to enjoy good rates etc etc then PM me and I'll sort the details out. As for deposits, well the main swallow web site always asked for like a 10% deposit at time of booking where's as websites like booking.com generally didn't unless you booked a non refundable rate. Either way contact them quick if you are outstanding a deposit. Again if you maybe need help with this then PM me and I might have someone who can help Thanks Dan

Just to let fellow bears know this hotel is closing for the forseable future on the 11th September. They are changing ownership and will probably open again April time (apparantly as a 4 star hotel !) Dont want anyone losing deposits/money by booking with them direct etc If you have booked and paid a deposit (as you have to direct with them) I would contact them now for a refund before its too late. Artmedias ground is right in the middle of Petreszalka which is an insanly large tenement stylr housing estate. home to some very "colourful" characters. Slovans ground is the other side of town in the more new town side. The old town in the middle is a great place. I stayed at the crowne plaza which was superb
