  1. Kuhn says "Because it relates to contract details, which we agreed not to disclose." It says in the article that future payments will also be delayed ("Die aktuelle Rate von 500.000 Euro soll später kommen als ausgemacht (31.8.), auch spätere sollen sich verschieben.")
  2. McCoist opened his textbook to chapter 2 "Formation for Europe". When forced to make a substitution he reverted to the same personnel (middle to front) in the same constellation that failed so miserably during the first half against Hearts. Unacceptable.
  3. ------------McGregor------------ Whittaker-Bougherra-Weir-Wallace ------------Davis-Edu----------- Naismith------Fleck--------Wylde -------------Jelavic------------
  4. According to yesterday's DR McCulloch is suspended for the Hearts game. http://www.<No links to this website>/football/spl/rangers/2011/07/18/rangers-boss-ally-mccoist-prepares-to-walk-away-from-david-goodwillie-talks-86908-23278832/
  5. From the Herald: McCoist and Whyte also held their own talks yesterday, at which the new manager gave an update on his targets and the new owner provided a similar briefing on budgetary issues. Senior Rangers figures were irritated when it was erroneously claimed Whyte might want to mortgage off the next four years’ worth of Ibrox season-ticket income against a loan. In fact, under the terms of his takeover, Whyte signed documents which guaranteed to the stock exchange that he would do no such thing.
  6. Although it is better than watching a stream that buffers continuously before being taken down, the standard is not up to much for midweek SPL matches not broadcast by ESPN or Sky. Don't be surprised if tonight's game is a single camera broadcast with no replays and annoying commentary.
  7. The 2,8m tax claim was the product of a case relating to another company setting a precedent, thus allowing HMRC to return to a tax issue from 10 years ago.
  8. Goodwillie has extended his contract with Dundee United until the end of the 2012/13 season.
  9. People who get bogged down with the minor details (Eggs Benedict and the like) are nothing but a hindrance to the noble cause they claim to serve. I remember, for example, working in the food outlets inside Ibrox when I was at high school in the 90s and several of their supporters refused to accept their burger in red, white, and blue packaging during a Scottish Cup semi-final. I just found it funny and pathetic. Something else I remember is hearing the Headmaster of a RC school tearing into his football team for losing the Centenary Cup 7-3 against the local "non-demonnational" school I was playing for. What is interesting is that the aforementioned Headmaster was also Chief Steward at Celtic Park (I don't know if he still is). Indeed he was the one in the red jacket who ran onto the pitch after Dallas got hit with the coin in 1999. There is something wrong when ten year old kids organise "Proddies v Catholics" games of football down the park, like we used to do, and it is not the fault of Rangers or Celtic.
  10. I haven't been as impressed as many have been with Diouf's contribution to the team since January but the way he has been treated since his arrival and the way Rangers have allowed it to happen is nothing short of a disgrace.
  11. Judging by Smith's comments it seems certain that Weir will return to the line-up. The logical conclusion to draw from that is we will see a back 5. In itself I don't have a great problem with this (apart from the fact that it is employed to accommodate Weir) as we have by and large looked pretty steady using it thus far. What I do have a problem with is a traditional 4 man midfield allied to the back 5 as it invariably means that we end up, for all intents and purposes, with 2 rights backs and 2 left backs. I fear this is how Smith will seek to nullify the "threat" from their full backs. However, the root of the "threat" is that in the recent games Izaguirre and Wilson have had next to nothing to worry about defensively and could, therefore, saunter up and down the wing as they pleased. I would give Weiss a free role between the midfield and strikers, which would hopefully also give Kayal something to think about. -----------McGregor----------- ----Bougherra Weir Papac--- Whittaker----------------Wylde ----------Davis Fleck---------- -------------Weiss-------------- ---------Healy Jelavic---------
  12. If the line-ups pre-injury to Jelavic are anything to go by, we will play with two up top when he returns to full fitness. I think Goodwillie will play next Tuesday too.
  13. Yes, the league is the priority, but lets not forget who our opponents are in the next round of the cup.
  14. Maybe something will give at the start of next week. Dundee United play their Scottish Cup replay against Ross County next Tuesday (18th). If Goodwillie plays he will be cup-tied should he move to Ibrox during the current transfer window.
  15. I live in Germany and ordered the Unirea (a) game last season and it was a Sky Sports UK broadcast. It looks as if the set-up is the same this season. If you click on it through the Uefa website you will probably be redirected to the Sky Sports website. Try it and see what happens.
  16. It is the same one that I would be paying 19 Euro for i.e. Sky Sports.
  17. Just like last season, you are unable to watch Champions League games live through Rangers.TV overseas. I was planning on watching it online via Sky Sports at a rip-off 19 Euro only to find out that you cannot view it on a Mac. Fingers crossed for a good stream, which remains online for 90 minutes.
  18. McGregor Broadfoot Papac Weir Bougherra McCulloch Edu Davis Whittaker Naismith Miller So the question is, which of the following will be employed? 1) Whittaker / Davis / Edu / Naismith 2) Naismith / Davis / Edu / Whittaker 3) Davis / Naismith / Edu / Whittaker I hope it is Naismith / Davis / Edu / Whittaker. Disappointing line-up. Smith had 2 decisions to make. The decision not to play Weiss is even more frustrating when you see the Man Utd starting XI.
  19. If Whittaker is playing in midfield, then it has to be on the left to protect Papac against Nani or Valencia. Neither Lafferty or Naismith are the correct option for left midfield, because our ability to nullify the threat down the right will be key to our chances. If Papac doesn't get the necessary protection we will be in trouble. On the other hand, whether Giggs or Park play on the left, neither will be the main threat to Broadfoot, as both cut inside to allow Evra to bomb up the left flank. Therefore, playing Weiss at right midfield will give us an out and hopefully allow us to take advantage of Evra's attack-mindedness. I am not against an extra defensive-minded player in midfield if it is balanced with creativity in the form of Weiss. Weiss will, however, spend too much time and energy chasing back if he plays on the left, as like I mentioned in my previous post, Man Utd attack primarily down the right hand side. We have to remember we are playing Man Utd away and we will have to stop them playing if we are to have any success, but we also need an attacking outlet.
  20. Given Manchester United's tendency to attack down the right, I think Whittaker will be employed in the left midfield role to help out Papac, with Broadfoot at right back and Weiss right midfield. The spine of the team is a given.
