  1. Has someone taken over your account? You used to post a lot of sensible stuff, but have taken a turn for the bizarre lately. You know as well as I do that he has his own sources within the club, sources that have been right in the past. Dismissing information as false simply because you don't like it does no-one any favours. It's a mistake we have made in the past to our detriment.
  2. Gollum confirms it: http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/23412447 Rangers: Concern over chief executive Craig Mather's salary By Chris McLaughlinSenior Football Reporter, BBC Scotland Rangers chief executive Craig Mather will pick up £500,000 per year at Ibrox - a salary that has angered some within the club, BBC Scotland has learned. Mather was given the role on a permanent basis earlier this month, having initially taken an interim role following Charles Green's departure. Green was on a salary of around £350,000 at Ibrox. And the increase for the new CEO has raised eyebrows with some on the board and some major shareholders. The concern comes as the club, it is understood, continues to lose cash on a monthly basis. Mather invested £1m after Green, who left the club over allegations about his business dealings with former owner Craig Whyte , led a consortium to buy the club's assets following administration and liquidation last year. One source told BBC Scotland: "Given where the club is at the moment, the salary is just bizarre. "It appears to be a premiership salary for a Scottish Second Division chief executive. "It comes at a time when the club continues to cut costs and just sends out the wrong message."
  3. I love it when people come on a forum to tell others that they shouldn't be discussing things. Kind of defeats the purpose.
  4. Disagree. He looked far more of a threat when played up front and allowed for a more natural wide player to play in that position (the games where Little played RM and Hegarty/Faure played RB we effectively had no right flank as Little got lost between the wing and the centre of the pitch and the RB was reluctant to push forward).
  5. League title (with a higher points total than QOS) Ramsdens Cup At least the quarters in the one of the other cups Continued introduction of youth players to the team Vast improvement in the quality of football That would be a successful season. PS: Andy Little being played as a striker would be a welcome bonus as well.
  6. Not like you to miss the point.... You are saying we should automatically trust that the board are running us in a prudent manner, I am saying we have first-hand experience that that is not always the case, therefore we should remain vigilant. Furthermore, it is clear that we were already overspending massively in comparison to the level we were playing in, and we have already added to the wage bill (or at least remained at the same level, given the departure of high earners). Also, we have less than half of the IPO funds remaining and very little to show for it. Is this really a board keeping a tight reign on the finances? Let's say for a second I am right - do you think that sum of money for a 35 year old playing in the second division is viable. If so - why? If not - how much do you think is suitable?
  7. While I generally agree, trusting Rangers to be financially prudent has let us down in the past. I have been told that Jig is paid in the region of £18,000 p/w and have no reason to doubt that, but I can't name the source so I realise there's no reason to believe that.

  9. I thought that - still, RTV is great value for money.
  10. Did the subscription last season get you the live games? I thought you had to pay for them separately.
  11. No harm in saying he did well - agree though that judgement cannot be passed until a higher level of opposition has been tackled.
  12. Jig is on 15-18k p/w - that is not a wage we should be paying in the 2nd division regardless of circumstance. Sentiment should come second to prudence.
  13. Bench. Better options upfront, and he's not good enough in defence.
  14. Central defence of course - he only started playing in other positions when Southend went through an injury crisis.
  15. No one is arguing, I simply made the point that Ally (in my opinion) sees something in certain players (*cough* Little *cough*) when played in positions other than the one they have shown that they are best suited to.
  16. I think the difference here, when compared to other 'versatile' players we have had, is that he has performed well in other positions whereas some of our players who McCoist considers 'versatile' have not.
  17. Worth noting that although he is a defender, he has played as a winger and a striker for Southend (and done well in all three positions).
  18. Conscious of those on mobiles - much easier to read it here than on the official website.
  19. http://rangers.co.uk...looks-at-mohsni RANGERS manager Ally McCoist will take a look at French-Tunisian defender Bilel Mohsni during the club’s northern tour over the next few days. The 25-year-old played most recently with English outfit Southend United, making 80 appearances for them since going there from Sainte-Genevieve Sports in 2010. Mohsni trained at Murray Park this morning and McCoist will assess the free agent while his squad is based in the Highlands for friendlies with Brora and Elgin City. No talks about any potential deal have taken place and the arrangement is simply a trial as things stand. Gers manager McCoist confirmed his interest in both Christophe Berra and Boris Pandza earlier this week. In casting his eye over Mohsni as well, he is keeping his options open as he looks to tighten up a back line which conceded some sloppy goals last season. Paris-born Mohsni, who spent part of last term on loan at Ipswich Town, was the subject of a bid from Premiership side West Ham last year. His final appearance for Southend came in April as his team lost the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final 2-0 to Crewe at Wembley. Mods/Admin, feel free to move this to the transfer section, posted it in here by mistake.
  20. I think Little would thrive at the top of a 4-2-3-1, but with Daly and Clark present I think we will be seeing Little from the right (which is really irritating - it is clear that up top is where he belongs).
  21. Like the 3-5-2 but would probably have Law instead of Peralta, even if would unbalance the midfield a bit.
  22. Good to see AlBear's usual constructive input into the match thread..... Anyway: :Bell: If McKay is still unfit replace with
  23. Who says everyone will be on the internet during games? I'd imagine most people will use it pre-match and at HT.
