  1. I can see myself having to take a wee walk to the pub if this continues
  2. After humping the Port' last week the scouting problems may be solved
  3. Firstly the wage cuts guaranteed the completion of this years SPL fixtures so it is a different scenario, with the second point being have Duff and Phelps approached the SPL for early payment, if not why would the SPL volunteer it?
  4. I think it was the SPL gave Gretna the money for finishing 12th early to complete their fixtures not the SFA.
  5. If this continues much longer they will end up the major creditor
  6. If the SFA were able to offer assistance to a club (don't know if they can do it legally or afford it financially) it would be to the member clubs who are currently owed money by Rangers ( Dunfermilne, ICT & Dundee United ). Can't see a scenario were we would get help before these debts are settled first, and thin it would only be in a form of a loan.
  7. It may have turned into a public spat now, but Adams legacy to the club can not be questioned unlike SDM's.
  8. It was only repeat once on satellite that I can remember at it was really dated, sad actually.
  9. Not I term I used then or now, but heard it use with local "girls" going to the Holy Loch and coming back with more than a fist full of dollars to the resultant off spring. Darkie was used but N-word was also used. These were the times of the " comedy" classic Love Thy Neighbour so it highlights changes in attitude.
  10. Colonel M I seldom hear it outwith films now.But heard it growing up in the 70's as a kid. My Granny even called brown boot polish "Ni**er brown". She was not racist to the best of my knowledge, was only trying to demonstrate the change in culture and what is acceptable at time moves on. Did not quote who my reply was to.
  11. I agree but it was not the point I was trying to make ( probably did not explain it well) as long as undesirable aspects are seen as the norm and tolerated by the majority there is every likelihood These behaviours will remain. Culture changes over time (the "N" word is a prime example)was all I was tryinging to say, the pace and direction of the change is down to each individual.
  12. Think you may be on to loser for a serious discussion on this one unfortunately, by my initial thoughts. You are focusing on a specific element of "Rangers"culture which some (may or may not) feel is important. Surely it would have been more beneficial to look at all aspects of our culture and the prominace this actually takes when defining what we represent or think we represent as a whole. Ultimately our culture will be displayed by the bahaviours of our fans and these will change over time, the direction of these changes may be influenced by laws banning songs for example, whoever, until they are accepted by the main body of the support the culture will remain.
  13. No administrators have said not to expect payment. If we go to a CVA then it will be pence in the pound like the rest.
  14. Take it that it is to do with the gate money from the Dundee United game. Article from SoS http://m.scotsman.com/scotland-on-sunday/sport/football/rangers-administration-dundee-united-told-not-to-expect-100k-ibrox-cash-1-2166422 They could say until you pay up you can't play.
  15. And the fan groups are contributing how much to the bid?
  16. And Ticketus will be happy to let fan groups see the contract documents? I have been involved with putting together tenders and evaluating bids and I can't see any company agreeing to this, other that a broad outline of proposals. There is too much potential for other bidders to get a commercial advantage for this to take place as suggested. Edit for typo
  17. Hmmmm Paul Murray is going to run confidential contractural arrangements by unaccountable supporters groups when putting a bid together. I'm all for transparency, but this seems far fetched even by Leggo's more and more fanciful observations, what qualifies these representatives to provide a qualified view on the contractural arrangements that are being put in place? What next the power of veto?
  18. Back of the creditors que I'm afraid, I think it has been worked out around £8 mill if liquidated. It's been spoken of before and most did not see it as an investment and appeared to have written it off anyway. Edit for bloody autocorrect
  19. Selling to Whyte was a mistake that has seen HMRC putting us into administration, however, the EBT'S which he used for years is another which he seems to conveniently forget If the FTT goes against us it could ultimately lead to liquidation does he not have an opinion on that except for his "tax advisors are confident we will win this" from previous interviews? Does he not connect the ongoing tax cast and potential £50 mill tax liability for the reason there was no others willing to buy the club? I only hope his advisors are correct and as for this article, spin at it's best (or worst dependant on your point of view) with a you will get your interview on the understanding that ETB's are not discussed. Not the fourth estates finest hour. People will remember the good , but also the price we are now paying for them now when forming a view on SDM's time as castodian of our club.
  20. Surely it is a massive problem, if a tax liability of £9-15 million can send us into administration the potential of a Further £50 million liability is not just a trifling matter to be easily dismissed. If the creditors of which HMRC appear to be one of the largest ( assuming we loss the big tax case) decided to play hardball I think the administrators thoughts on this may change significantly.
