Why did Whyte not Pre-Pack us?
Eastcoast Al replied to mitre_mouldmaster's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
The administration was forced by HMRC after Whyte's announcement that it may happen within 10 days. He had to rush it or risk not having Duff and Phelps in charge (HMRC had DeLoittes Lined up for the administrators role). It might be that he had planned to do so but never had the opportunity. Alternatively it could be it has been his plan for liquidation all along so why waste the time and effort, bit like paying all other bills/taxes of his 9month in charge. Who can second guess this mad man. -
CW is going nowhere without the £30 million he is liable for and if he does indeed hold the secured creditor status I have a horrible feeling of how he is planning to get it. D&P may not have found evidence of this but that does not mean he does not hold it.

All tax cases are on a case by case basis, it was the alleged misuse of them that has got us in trouble. Why should other clubs care unless they misused them in a similar manner? So HMRC are owed 45 million taxes and fines and Rangers take it to appeal. In the mean time we stop paying all other taxes for the hell of it and add another 9 million for good measure. HMRC then accept a CVA for £10 million and rangers continues on debt free. That's sending out the right message for clubs to pay their taxes. If as suggested elsewere we are being made an example of, why not take the £50 mill hit (after all in reality it has now effectively been reduced to £10 mill with a CVA) And refuse to play ball and scare the EPL clubs into paying up the really big bucks. Otherwise what is to stop other clubs following our route out of tax debt?

Newsnow Rangers, Alex Thomson on investigating Rangers.
Eastcoast Al replied to pcbear's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
If we take the unpaid PAYE / VAT at the lower figure of 9 million, to save these jobs it works out at 45k a job and this is assuming the BTC does not go against us. Do you think anyone outwith Rangers would be happy with that level of subsidy given the current financial situation? I don't think that's an argument we should be adopting to gain public support especially with the memory of Bankers fresh in the tax payers mind. -
The transfer one was out of order I will grant you, however, the only admin thing I can remember him commenting on admin was no tickets up front without payment. And since we have been reported as owing them 40k you can hardly blame him for that. Fuck just remembered the don't need Rangers one, he is a dick.

Don't think so he is back next week filming again, he tweeted this "@alextomo: Hoping to be filming in Glasgow Mon/Tue next week"

He is not the only one. Ellis is going after shares from CW. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17667092 More court time for our owner.

Celtic haven't won a legit title in 8 years

This is getting rather embarrassing, there is such a thing as Being a bad loser and unfortunately these qualities are coming to the fore within some of our support. Stop looking for excuses for the evident deficiencies in our own team and move on. -
Rangers going the way of Airdrieonians?
Eastcoast Al replied to mitre_mouldmaster's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Ardrieonians were liquidated and hypothetically any club in the world can go this way. Ardrie United gaining a place by buying another Scottish club (Clydebank) and taking their place in the league after a relocation and name change can never happen. The league rule changed to stop others going down this path. -
NewCo Does Not Mean History Lost
Eastcoast Al replied to mitre_mouldmaster's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
There is an easy answer to all this, 5 stars on the shirt then history remains with NewCo, 0 stars and it has been lost with the liquidated company. -
Probably a bear having a little fun at their expense, it will no doubt be met wil howls of protest and accusations of bias. Alternatively it could be extremely sloppy work by the record, it is not as if they set themselves high standards at that comic.

It must have been a pound note he used to pay SDM

At what point did Whyte's plan unravel if it has?
Eastcoast Al replied to Anchorman's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
The "irrelevance" that is CW is still looking for £30 million for his shares and has two seperate companies after the money from from his lawyers account. Therefore, in answer to your original post his plan will only have unraveled once the D&F's "Mechanisms" or a court actually removes these from him along with his secured creditor status. Not a bad return for a £1 stake. -
No the small tax case was not contested in court by D&F and it was paid in full from the ring fenced monies to the HMRC. The 9-12 million is all new from when CW took over (VAT, PAYE, interest etc.)

As stated, Thatcher stayed in power and the proposed HNS cuts went through, Senile old fucker should be reeping what she sowed just now with her ravaged body and dementia addled mind. But the Devil looks after his own and instead of lying in her own pish for days on end in worst of NHS nursing homes the Cunt has the best of private health care.
-
Not an original idea, the NHS workers arranged something similar for the 1988 cup final to demonstrate against Margret Thatcher. But good effort all the same. Edit for repeating myself
-
I missed the Treasury statement on that one as well, I thought HMRC did not comment on individual cases. Anything realised through newspapers or D&F can also be taken with a pinch of salt until it actually happens.

The verdict is reportedly due next month and if we a liquidated before that we will no longer exist with all assets (stadium, training ground, trademarks (name)) being sold off to pay creditors and all players freed from contracts. There would not be a football club to continue unhindered, we would not finish the season.
-
Since it is court action it is entirely upto the judges( is it three?) to deliver the verdict. There is no timescale but I have read April being likely but with no specific date. But it would be helpful to find out one way or another so we could move on.
