Will it be as difficult to get away tickets for our game at Fester Road? If a possibility, may try that as a second option?
-
Cheers for the replies guys, looks like I'll not be getting to see us away any time soon. Just out of interest, who does get away tickets and how?
-
I hope this is the right forum for this, would appreciate a bit of advice. I live down south and usually get to see the Gers at Ibrox once a season, but really fancy going to see us play away at Aberdeen in December, if I can get a ticket. I haven't to an away game for many years. Obviously I haven't got a season ticket, and can't see from the club web site any way I can get a couple of tickets for this match. Any advice? Cheers in advance. UJ

Just listened to Joey Barton's Talksport interview and thought he came over very well. Wasn't sure about his signing, but having listened to him, impressed by his attitude and also intelligence. I think he's going to do really well with us. Welcome Joey to the best club in the world!

Favourite Old Firm Goal
Union Jack replied to Don't b a stranger ...'s topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Got to be 16 yr old Derek Johnstone in Cup Final, League Cup, I think 1970or thereabouts from memory. Sorry working from memory, on train and can't be arsed to look up more accurately. But that was during the lean years and I was kid having lived through their years on top and we were not expected to win. Will never forget the joy and excitement of that win. Actually- I could say the same about big Tam Forsyth's winner in the 1972 I think, Scottish Cup Final. Hard to choose between these two but I think big DJ's goal just edges it for me as that was the very start of our way back IMHO -

From The Sublime To The Ridiculous. Charles and Declan

Fixed that for you! -
Brilliant, thanks for posting. Jeez but that brought back some memories. This was the Rangers team of my youth, I was at most of these games with my pal Robert, his brother big Corkie, and his brother in law wee Ronnie. We used to travel everywhere to see the Gers. Great memories, particularly the John Greig goal at Ibrox when we ran up the park and scored after the Mhanks protesting (they were the same then) after their near miss. Brilliant. To make it even better, I enjoyed listening to it it my new super duper headphones I got from Santa. Yes, I really enjoyed that video. Thanks again.

Dundee United and Rangers in ticket deal
Union Jack replied to LeeWallaceRFC's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I hope none of us goes and the boycott is 100 % successful. As I see it, they haven't got enough of their own fans to fill their midden, so the absence of our large, usually biggest away ticket buying support of the season, will hit them hard in the pocket. Hopefully another nail in the coffin of this bitter and twisted club -
I enjoyed your post too mate, it brought some memories back for me too. I used to drive past Shawfield often in the 70s and early 80s (is iit still standing?), before exile to the deep south. I only ever remember going to a match there once, for a midweek game against Clyde on a sunny evening, probably around 1975. If memory serves, Derek Johnston scored in a one nil win for the Gers. I remember the open feel of the stadium, black cinder dog track, and also that everything was painted white. Crowd went mental when we scored.

Superb! I especially like the honours listing on the stand fascia. Thanks for posting, wish I could have been there. -
Another post showing old Ibrox got me walking down memory lane in my head, and I was remembering the many times I stood at the old Ibrox, or sat in the Centenary Stand when they put in the benches, then of course came the new stands and multicoloured seats.... Anyway, I digress. One of the memories which came to mind is of a midweek game, up in the old Derry. I think we were playing Dunfermline, probably around 1973. Graham Fyfe, was playing. I remember him as a truly skilled player, used to be called Johann Fyfe by the fans. I think he blew a bit hot and cold form wise, but I always thought he never reached his potential at the club, and never, IIRC, held a regular place in the team. I always had the feeling he could have been great.

Sporting Integrity- another brief re-appraisal.
Union Jack replied to OlegKuznetsov's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Good post, very well said. -
I stood on these terraces many times through the seventies. I'd forgotten how far away we were from the pitch at the Rangers end, but funnily enough I don't ever remember thinking anything of it at the time. Great pic, I love to watch the stadium change, and it really takes me down memory lane. I'm glad we got the new stadium though.

Picture of Ibrox taken tonight.
Union Jack replied to ForeverBlue_Since91's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I really wish I could be there today, the last card display match I got to go to was the poppy display one against the sheep last year, which looked fantastic, I still keep the pics on my phone. I managed to get to the Elgin game on Sunday, it was great to be back at Ibrox, but I always think the atmosphere at Sunday games is a bit flat. The stadium is going to be bouncing today! Will somebody please post some pics and footage on the board tonight for those of us not able to go ourselves! -
Unfortunately mate, to change the one word to rebel wouldn't alter the perception of some that the song is sectarian in nature, and would continue to lay us open to damaging criticism. The fact is we are sat with the law as it is. OK, my suggested lyrics might not be great, and let's have some decent suggestions, but the fact is we either change it significantly, or we accept it's lost to us forever. What do you prefer?

I defy anyone to watch that and not crack up laughing! -
There's no doubt that when Hello Hello rings out around the stadium, it makes for one of the loudest, proudest and most intimidating anthems ever, so I would love to see us agree on a version which would let us bring it back, albeit in modified form. Here's my stab at a it: Hello, hello, we are the Billy Boys Hello, hello, we are the Billy Boys We are the Rangers then and now Forever hear our noise For we are the Rangers Billy Boys Thoughts?

You could try Mr Flag.com. I've had a couple of flags from them in the past year, and found them to be very reliable.
