  1. Does anyone have more info on this story? It sounds like they are having a meeting to decide whether to punt Jelly, given it is a tad late to be discussing our general strategy for transfers this window.
  2. That wouldn't surprise me, especially if Jelly goes. Would probably end up playing him at RB! However, please god no Diouf.
  3. So, for the 25 EPL squads to be beneficial to us after the window we'd be looking at players who were released only, right? I thought only players without a club could be signed after the deadline day. I'm guessing any players that aren't needed will already be informed, and be available right now, but I'm interested in knowing the rules regarding who we are allowed to sign after the window shuts.
  4. I guess we'll see when we have everyone back. I'm not sure Ally bought Ortiz, Bedoya and McKay to start them all on the bench (I'm not sure where he sees them playing though TBH). It looks to me like he'll play Jig or Edu from now on but not both. The big question is, will he drop both if they are fit.
  5. I don't want us to go down the same route as before - Overspend and suffer for it. However, the main issue I have is that we were told we had £5m to spend (which is a relatively small amount, but better than nothing). Then Whyte came out and said that wasn't enough and he'd give Ally more. With the money that has come in from Boogie and Charlie we are nowhere near that figure. Even without their money we still haven't spent as much as £5m as far as I can see. I do understand those that say we are out of Europe therefore have to tighten our belts, but surely the figures Whyte quoted didn't take CL/EL qualification into account. Perhaps wages makes the difference to £5m or so, but it does send mixed messages when we attempt to buy players for £2m+ then swap to players for about 400k.
  6. Have Arsenal bought a keeper yet? After losing 8-2 (current score) they may be looking for one!
  7. A 'Rangers' fan on claiming that Steve Davis is seriously over-rated. Huge pinch of salt taken.
  8. I could indeed be a jhourno. But I'm not. You could of course be a wind-up merchant...... ;-) Ah well. All will be revealed in the fullness of time one way or the other.
  9. I don't see why it is a stupid question. Have we really spent £3.5m, what with the Boogie and Charlie money coming in? Even if we have, there should still be about £1.5m left. Whyte also said he'd 'front load' the fund if necessary as £5m was not enough. My point is the money promised hasn't been spent yet. And, no, I'm not advocating a protest against Whyte, but we do need to make sure he keeps his promises.
  10. There should be money left for a striker. If there isn't then the £5m Whyte quoted obviously included the £5-£20m or so we'd get from the Europa league/Champions league. Question is, if we have only spent about £350k or so will the fans take Whyte to task?
  11. Aside from no European football, the biggest downside of last night for me is that going through may have helped us attain 4IAR. The european games give the players a welcome diversion, and increase their motivation. Additionally, us going through would have put tremendous pressure on Lennon as they went out at the first hurdle again. His jacket may well have been on a shuggly peg. We've let him off, IMO.
  12. It wasn't just the Healy miss. Had Lafferty let the ball run across him and the keeper we'd have been 1-0 up and going through.
  13. Well, at least Healy is coming on. Probabably taking Jelly off though!
  14. I have absolutely no effin doubt this will end up 1-1, with us sending high, long balls in for the last 10 mins
  15. I purchased here in the UK and it said I wasn't allowed to watch it in the UK. Had to switch VPN on pronto. Still, it buffers so much that I went for one of the free streams even after paying.
  16. Hey guys. All it takes in one goal. Who is going to score it though? I agree that Ortiz looks poor again tonight. Perhaps Sunday was a blip.
