Merging is a ridiculous thing to suggest. They should make the leagues bigger, reduce the number of them, open up more spots for promotion and relegation. That would allow more money to filter down the pyramid and means that those ‘pointless’ teams have time and resources to grow.

Him being reluctant to stay would explain rumours of going big on a striker. Surely to god there’s someone a bit more prolific than the guy we’ve been linked with though, especially at that price.
