  1. Have heard both Wallace and Smith miss out. What I'd like to see... Simonsen Faure, McGregor, Zaliukas, Foster Black, McCulloch Aird, McLeod, Clark Miller What I think McCoist will play... Simonsen McGregor, Mohsni, McCulloch, Foster Aird, Black, Law, McLeod Miller, Boyd There's also a little part of me that thinks McCoist might play Miller wide instead of Aird then put Daly up with Boyd...
  2. I'd love it if McCoist had the balls NOT to mention the red card. However, I doubt it... Hearts won, they're 9 points clear. Our great club is in a very sorry state. I desperately hope someone steps up at boardroom level and takes the necessary steps to sort this out
  3. I think most of us are in agreement that our playing style is dull, stagnated, slow and predictable. We need a new emphasis.... Formation 4-2-3-1 Team (when all fit) BELL SINNAMON, McGREGOR, ZALIUKAS, WALLACE BLACK, MacLEOD SHIELS, MILLER, TEMPLETON CLARK
  4. Robinson Foster, McGregor, McCulloch, Wallace Aird, Black, Law, MacLeod Miller, Boyd Subs: Kelly, Zaliuskas, Smith, Shiels, Templeton, Clark, Daly
  5. Somehow managing and inspiring a depleted side featuring Andy Dibble, a half fit Ian Durrant and a 36 year old Mark Hateley to a 1-0 victory over Celtic in 1997 on the way to 9 in a row. Then over a decade later, practically singlehandedly beating Celtic in the 2011 League Cup final by patrolling the touch line and marshalling the troops like the legend he was. Above all else, he was a winner. Winning was the most important thing. And, whilst I do not believe McCoist to be on the same level as a manager, I just have this little feeling that deep down there, he can make us winners again. Yes, we have lost to Hearts and Hibs. Yes, we were expected to stroll Division 3 and League One. Yes, the football has been absolutely dire but we are on course to get back where we belong and I want to be there when a Rangers side led by McCoist beats Celtic and reminds the whole of Scottish football that, quite simply, we are the greatest football club in the world.
  6. I'd drop Black and Law... Robinson Foster, McGregor, Zaliukas, Wallace Shiels, McCulloch, McLeod, Templeton Clark, Boyd
  7. Has he forgotten what club we are. Finishing anything other than first in this division is totally and utterly unacceptable. Is there a single fan left that is still backing him!?!? Home defeats to Hibs and Hearts this early in the season: unacceptable A squad packed with players that have badly regressed under Ally: unacceptable A team devoid of hunger or fight: unacceptable A team without firm leadership or direction: unacceptable A shambolic defence with no organisation, a flat midfield with no ideas or inspiration and a frontline with no creativity or invention: unacceptable A striker at centre back, a centre back at right back, a centre mid at right mid, a left back at left mid and a goal poacher with absolutely nothing to poach A manager with no strategic sense, with no leadership, with embarrassingly low expectations of a squad with the 2nd highest wage bill in the country and a club that should have the highest standards in the land Unacceptable. Unacceptable. Unacceptable
  8. "There's no need worrying about it, I think it gives you an edge to your game." Still waiting to see any evidence of that "edge"
  9. Just have a horrible feeling McCoist will replace the injured Aird by shoehorning Black in. I can envisage a horrible scenario with Law wide left, McLeod on the right and the BlackJig combo in the middle. Hope I'm wrong. Probably be Templeton in... be a nice surprise if McKay or Gallagher starts
  10. Just my opinion, so feel free to disagree... I think our biggest issue in the central midfield pairing. Over my time watching Rangers, we've had McCall and Ferguson Gascoigne and Gattuso Barry Ferguson and Van Bronckhorst Mendes and Davis We have always had great combinations in there that can dictate play and provide the ammunition to the attack by creating from the heart of the midfield. Now, I know we are in the Championship and cannot expect to have the level we have had before, but we need much better than we have. Whether this is down to personnel, management or a bit of both, I am not certain. However, my suggestion (as I know many others would also have) would be to move MacLeod into the middle and to partner him with a new signing. I am not convinced any of the current squad are up to the standard, except MacLeod. I see Lewis as the main creative central midfielder, capable of box to box play. I feel we need a solid, holding midfielder next to him, but obviously to a higher standard than Black or Hutton, neither of whom is good enough in my opinion. We need someone with energy and bite in there beside MacLeod and this should have been a signing priority of McCoist's. It's not to late to make this change but I fear, along with many others, that we have a season of Law and Black ahead of us… On current form, that is a complete and utter disaster and Boyd and Miller will not score that many goals with those two in the heart of the midfield. Signing Boyd and Miller yet providing Black and Law as ammunition for them would be like buying a nice, quick, powerful car without a key to get it started.
  11. Also Dave McPherson and Ally Maxwell in the 94 final against Dundee United. Missed out on the double treble. Though maybe I should blame Goram for missing his flight back for that game!!
  12. Steven Davis A captain of Rangers should never walk away
  13. Advocaat had bought Prodan who was an excellent defender and more in keeping with the style of the team. Prodan, of course, never played due to injury and thus Hendry was signed to partner Amoruso. Craig Moore had been sent to Crystal Palace but was re-signed after one season.
  14. I didn't say that I think it will happen. But I think it should happen.
  15. When the Rangers players refused the wage cut earlier this season, their job was to show that they are worth their wages. Therefore, they had to beat Dundee United. Following the 3-1 defeat, the players should now offer a 50% wage cut. The players tried hard today and gave a much better performance. However, the much lower paid United team won comfortably, 3-1. The Rangers players must now accept that they are not worth their wages. If they have any self respect, they should immediately offer to take a 50% wage cut.
  16. What Ally should have said; "First of all, congratulations to Raith Rovers on their cup win. They were undoubtedly the better team on the day. Unfortunately, our performance had nothing in common with the standards expected of Rangers. The fans once again supported us in their thousands and every single player and coaching staff owes them an apology. I take ultimate responsibility as manager of the club. To say I am disappointed with the players is an understatement. The boys that played today should take the next 48 hours to decide if they are capable of wearing the blue shirt. I too accept that my position is under threat because the fans deserve better. I ask the fans for the opportunity to show what we are capable of next weekend and remain determined to make the changes necessary to get our great football club back where we belong."
  17. If money paid out doesn't mean anything, then why did we do we spend so much?
  18. Second highest wage bill in Scotland, so we should be the favourites for the Scottish Cup However, who in their right mind would bet on us to win it!? Aberdeen, Dundee Utd far stronger than us, St Johnstone a good bit better and Albion unlucky not to beat us today. Either the players are being paid too much, or the management team is garbage or both. I wish Ally would stand up and be counted in a post match interview instead of going on the defensive
  19. Muirheadbear, I think you're spot on but I just wondered if a pacy attack might have more impact against the top teams
  20. I would leave Daly out with the option to bring him on later in the game. I like the idea of three pacey guys full of energy (Little, Shiels, Templeton) running at the Aberdeen backline Regarding Simonsen, I just think he would have the edge for the big occasion
  21. I think Simonsen should get another chance in goals. He was brilliant in the one game he played. And, I've been imagining the scenario where we meet Aberdeen in the Scottish cup and thinking "who would I rather have in goals" For me, Simonsen has the age, experience and presence for a big occasion like that. I think he'd relish it Just my opinion and I totally accept others will prefer Bell My big game team would be... Simonsen Foster, McCulloch, Mohsni, Wallace Black Little, Law, McLeod, Templeton Shiels
  22. Indeed! So many big guns in our squad back then, we could cover injuries. No Ferguson or Durrant but still a midfield with McCall and Trevor Steven. Awesome
  23. Goram, Robertson, Ferguson and McCoist all out injured... And we still pumped them! Durie was a great stand in for McCoist, but Maxwell and Murray were very ordinary players in my opinion. How did we line up formation-wise? Was it as follows; Maxwell Stevens, Pressley, Gough, Brown Murray, Steven, McCall, Milhailitchenko Durie, Hateley
  24. I listed 11 players, six of whom have been capped by Scotland, several of which have played in the English Premier League. And as for your misguided point about McGregor, we signed him when he was 16, three years before Murray Park opened.
  25. McGregor Hutton McMillan Wilson Smith Burke Ness McCabe Adam Wylde McCormack
