  1. Inverness 1 vs. 1 Rangers Written by Bazza Sunday, 10 December 2010 Inverness 1 : 1 Rangers From Turkey to Inverness, The Rangers were certainly on their travels but this time it was for crucial SPL points and not the Champions League monies. The chance was there for Rangers to pull a good gap ahead of Celtc on the same games played and you would have thought that would have been a huge incentive, in fact the only incentive the team would need. Walter shuffled the pack to negate the need for the youngsters to be on the park with Naismith slipping in to Centre midfield for Hutton and Foster going to right back for Cole. The return of Papac was a big boost as well but the 4-1-4-1 looked a negative set up from the off and so it proved as Caley got at us from te off and we really struggled to string any sort of passes together. Rangers slowly grew into the game but were still lacking any sort of cutting edge, in fact it was Inverness who were the more threatening and took a deserved lead half an hour into the game with a shot that no one could do anything about. Rangers, again, needed the kick up the rear end to get them started and looked more dangerous and controlled more of the ball once behind. They couldn’t force the matter though and went in at half time 1-0 down. There must have been sparks flying in the half time dressing room as Rangers came out looking like a completely different team. Weiss was hooked and Beattie replaced him and did more in his first few touches than the Slovak did in the whole first half. Ranegrs pressed their opponents relentlessly and it came as no surprise when Davis fed the ball to Miller who drilled a low shot off the post and into the bottom corner. A second was looking likely as Rangers tried to hammer home their advantage but things just weren’t quite coming off. Then, on 80 minutes, Rangers got their lifeline as Beattie won a penalty after terrific, dogged work by Davis. Miller stepped up to take it, but something just wasn’t right. Was his last missed penalty on his mind or did he have too much time to think about it? No matter, he took the safe option and drilled it down the middle only for the standing leg of the keeper jus manage to deflect the ball up and out. Rangers kept pressing but you just knew that this game was destined for the draw. Three points is still a good advantage with the same games played but five would have been so much sweeter. RM’s verdict: McGregor – 9 Could do nothing about the goal but was outstanding outwith that. A terrific save in the first half and a cracking double stop in the second allowed Rangers to press for a win. Foster – 6 Didn’t do enough in the first half to press the ball and also drive forward. His passing was also a let down. Bougherra - 6 Hasn’t been the same player of late, defensively, but did cause some problems getting forward. Weir – 5 Was troubled, especially first half by the maurading Caley. Wasn’t given much to do in the second as Rangers pressed forward. Papac – 6 Decent return to the team from Papac as he looked fairly comfortable. Wasn’t helped in his task by the lack of tracking back by Weiss. Whittaker – 6 His first half passing was woeful and good have easily been hooked instead of Weiss. A better second half display as he moved into a central midfield role. Davis – 7 One of the few plus points from Rangers perspective. The only man to dig in and be creative at the same time. McCulloch – 5 Annonymous in the first half in the holding role, even when we were under the cosh. Again slightly better in the second as he wasn’t under the same pressure. Naismith – 6 Didn’t have his shooting boots on and missed a glorious chance in the second half to win the game. Typical effort and work rate though. Weiss – 3 I really don’t know where to go with him at present. He does have ability but hasn’t showed it at all in recent times. I’d be tempted to save the wages and return him to City in the window. Wylde did tens times as much in his sub role. Miller – 6 Hero one minute and villian the next. Took his goal really well but missed some absolute sitters which could have won the game. Subs – Beattie – 5 Decent half, won his fair share of headers and held the ball up. Intelligent play for the penalty. Wylde - 4 Looked to take his man on down the wing which Weiss failed to do. Also didn’t mind tracking back. Rangers: 01 McGregor, 03 Weir, 05 Papac, 12 Foster (Wylde 79), 16 Whittaker, 24 Bougherra, 06 McCulloch, 08 Davis, 20 Weiss (Beattie 46), 09 Miller, 14 Naismith. 2. Bursaspor 1 vs. 1 Rangers Written by Bazza Tuesday, 07 December 2010 Bursaspor 1 : 1 Rangers It feels like forever since the Gers last took to the field so their could be no excuses of tiredness and fatigue from any of the team on their Champions League 2010 swansong. Rangers were still suffering from a few injury problems and although Bougherra was welcomed back into the side there was still signs of the squad size with the inclusion of Hutton again in midfield and young Dare Cole who was to make his debut at the right of the back five. The game may have been meaningless in terms of points and position but there was, firstly, a huge financial incentive to win the game and secondly the points co-efficient that would ensure Rangers a seeded spot in the draw for the knock out stages of the Europa League. We knew what to expect in this game with Walter putting his tried and trusted European formation and tactics into practice and a night of little possession and counter attacks was the most we could hope for. A couple of early chances came Rangers way and when Whittaker and Naismith combined down the let flank, Whittaker dragged a cross low across the box and Miller pounced to fire home an emphatic strike. At that stage of the game Rangers looked by far the superior team with a goal or two more in it. Half time was to change the game for the worse however as Bursaspor shuffled the pack and made a couple of changes to the playing staff and tactics. They seemed to have the more passion and drive and took the game to Rangers. The Right Back slot was the main focus of their attacks and young Cole in particular and after a sustained period, the effort paid off with an equalising goal and a share of the points late in the game. A disappointing night for Rangers who looked as though they had more than enough to take the Turks but at the end they deserved, at least, their draw. RM’s verdict: McGregor – 6 Hardly had a touch of the ball despite the opposition possession and had little chance at the point blank effort that was their goal. Cole – 5 Would have hoped for a better debut as first half he looked good, got forward and fired in a couple of crosses but second half was targeted and struggled a bit. Bougherra - 5 Not the best night from Bougherra and looked as though he’d been out for a while. Got caught in possession too many times while driving forward. Weir – 6 The linchpin of the back three and stood up well to the challenge until the late equaliser. Whittaker – 7 Looked a lot more comfortable driving forward than staying back and did well to provide the cross for the Goal. Was culpable for missing his clearance for the equaliser. Foster – 5 Didn’t do enough and, if honest, looked slightly out his depth. As a wingback he should have been a bit of a release ball to get width in the team but looked extremely reluctant to offer himself. Whittaker powered forward more often. Davis – 7 Tried hard and kept possession well enough but all too often had nowhere to go and no one to pass to when he found some space. Hutton – 5 Was on the periphery of the game tonight and just couldn’t get involved. Passing was a bit askew as well. McCulloch – 6 Provided a bit of dig but was overrun all too often. We needed to keep hold of the ball more and look to the holding midfielders to do that. Naismith – 7 A lively spark early on and made a couple of chances. Was involved in the build up to the goal but faded and was replaced in the second half. Miller – 6 Ended his goal drought with a beautifully taken effort. Was caught offside a bit easy but worked his socks off up top. Subs – Beattie – 5 Long balls followed his introduction but kept the ball fairly well. Weiss - 3 A disappointment when he was introduced and never got to utilise his pace. McMillan - 4 Another youngster to get his chance and tackled hard to try and shore up the problem right slot. Rangers: 01 McGregor, 03 Weir, 12 Foster, 16 Whittaker, 24 Bougherra, 45 Cole (McMillan 82), 06 McCulloch, 08 Davis, 09 Miller (Beattie 63), Naismith (Weiss 71), 41 Hutton Subs: 25 Alexander, 23 McMillan, 36 Perry, 39 Wylde, 20 Weiss, 10 Fleck, 19 Beattie. Goals: Miller 19 Booked: Beattie Bursaspor: 01 Ozkan, 02 Aziz (Erdogan 46), 03 Wederson, 23 Keceli, 55 Stepanov, 05 Cimsir (Batalla 46), 06 Has, 07 Insua, 20 Ipek, 09 Yildirim, 29 Nunez (Bahadir 62) Subs: 27 Ikanov, 04 Erdogan, 11 Kirita, 17 Batalla, 25 Ergic, 35 Odabasi, 22 Bahadir. 3. I'd be surprised but happy to see him given a run but with Foster needing games as well, I just can't see it.
  4. Haha, quality Out with the old, in with the new...
  5. I thought we sold him on to Newcastle
  6. Unlocked the MPL submachine gun yesterday and thought I'd give it a run out. I used the grip and rapid fire with it and the CZ75 fully auto as a secondary. Frag, Flash and Claymore as equip and Ghost Pro, Warlord and Ninja Pro as perks. Killstreaks were Spy Plane, Blackbird and Dogs. I have started playing a bit of domination and fired into a game on Hanoi and ended up with a good win and 34-3 ratio. The dogs are immense and really raked up some Kills. Defo my best game so far on black ops.
  7. 33 Soderberg,14 Perch,28 Kadar,17 Smith,11 Lovenkrands, 20 Best, 30 RangerNewcastle Subs bench today. You think he's trying to tell us something?
  8. I see their was a massive 35000 (allegedly) fans turned up to support their new ref team.
  9. Aberdeen just got shafted with a dodgy penalty too. Another bitter tim getting his come uppance.
  10. The big problem may be getting a Ref to inspect it!!
  11. According to Radio Scotland. What a pile of shite this weekend has become.
  12. Wonder who the other five are that are going with him...
  13. Quality flag mate! It's not too bad as far as the unlocks go as you don't lose them when you prestige.

    Favourite Game Type

Was Sabotage in MW2 or S&D which i used to prestige in Black OP's. Since then I've played pretty much all Demolition, really enjoying it. Played HC HQ last night for the first time, cheers for the invite lads , and pretty much sucked.
  15. Wonder if it has anything to do with Machinima Respawn doing a 24/7 assault on 15th prestige.
  16. Take a pic with your phone mate and fire it up. I have shamelessly stolen ScottBogles brilliant 1690 one from earlier in this thread and added a couple of bits to it. It was to good to not use.
  17. Big game for the him if this happens. Best of luck to him.
  18. Every fan has a right to be aggrieved at refereeing desicions or question their loyalties and be able to make their feelings known whether on messageboards or in the pub. Taking things to the press, releasing statements and brandishing the word cheat about, taking things to a whole new level, is what has made the Ref's revert to this and those responsible should be hammered by the SFA.
  19. Kilmarnock 2 vs. 3 Rangers Written by Bazza Saturday, 20th November 2010 Kilmarnock 2 vs. 3 Rangers Dick Turpin used to have the decency to wear a mask, or so they say anyway. This wasn’t quite daylight robbery but it’s as close as it gets. Walter wouldn’t have been thinking, or hoping for that matter, that this would be as physical and close a game, especially with such a huge game coming up in midweek. Kilmarnock though are on a good run of form and weren’t ready to give it up without a fight. Rangers, on paper, looked good from middle to front but one look at our back line and there was plenty to be concerned about. With Bougherra and Papac both out through injury, Foster came in at right back, Broadfoot went into the centre alongside Weir and Whittaker became the makeshift Left back. Dodgy looking and dodgy it proved. Rangers, as per usual, started the game in cruise mode and never really lifted out of it at any stage today. Miller had a reasonable chip that had the Killie keeper worried but other than that Bell had very little to do and when they did break forward they always looked a threat. The threat became a reality when Killie came down the Rangers right and although their path was blocked they managed to get a good ball out to the opposite side of the box where Rangers were vastly out numbered. Lafferty was caught on his heels and Whittaker ball watching as the ball fell to the feet on the onrushing forward whose shot was well saved by McGregor but dropped straight into the path of Sammon who had the easiest of tap ins for 1-0. Truth be told, most Gers were looking for the half time whistle so we could get in and re-group but it was a rather good job that it didn’t. Bell was to start on a nightmare spell that let Rangers back into the game. A very slack pass out put his defence under pressure and Miller latched onto the loose pass back. Sissoko had little option but to pull down the Gers striker and concede a penalty. He grabbed the ball with the authority of a man with a point to prove after last weeks miss and duly drilled the ball down the middle and sent Rangers into the break at a very relieved 1-1. The second half quality didn’t show any improvement from Rangers until Lafferty decided to have a go at the Killie defence. He skipped delightfully past the full back and into the box, he was bearing down on goal but was hauled back by the shirt and Referee was on the spot to give the second penalty of the game and also a second yellow card to Sissoko who headed for an early bath. Who else was to step up but Miller to fire home number 2. Miller was then given the chance to finish the game off when Davis played a lovely ball into the striker’s feet but his subsequent shot was sclaffed wide. Rangers were to rue this chance as Killie never gave up and once more tore the Rangers defence wide open down the right and this time the drilled cross fell once more to Sammon who grabbed his and Killies second to tie the game up once more. Rangers looked a little shell shocked but with a little touch of stubbornness and a bit of skill, Whittaker flicked the ball past the Full back and drove to the by line, his cross was perfect for Miller who took a touch to control and a second to grab his hat trick. 3-2 and game over? Well it should have been as Killie looked for another equaliser, Rangers stole the ball and broke quickly with Lafferty putting Miller through on goal. He sped forward and bore down on goal. A slight lift of the head would have seen Lafferty unmarked and ready to tap in the game clincher but Miller went for goal and his shot was easily saved. Rangers were to have a tense last 5 minutes but stuck to their task to see out a difficult day and a bad performance. Three points from these games though are ones that define titles. ________________________________________ RM’s verdict: McGregor – 8 Conceded Two goals that he could do nothing about but kept Rangers in the game with some good saves. Foster – 5 Looked rusty after his long stretch out of the first team and couldn’t quite get to grips with the game. Weir – 5 Tried his best to gel a very weak looking Rangers back line and couldn’t quite manage the task. Broadfoot –5 Makeshift centre back and it showed. Looked slightly lost at times as the ball was played around him. Not his ideal position. Whittaker –4 I hate to give him a hard time but he was bordering on useless today, well until he fired the perfect cross for Miller anyway. Was getting torn a new one down the left and was switched to the right at half time where he wasn’t much better. Naismith – 5 Anonymous for large parts of the game. I wasn’t sure at times if he was a right midfielder, a central midfielder or a striker. Never seemed to hold down a position and left gaps behind him. Davis – 5 Given his more creative central role but couldn’t get on the ball enough to influence the play. McCulloch –5 Tasked with giving cover to the defensive line but was unsuccessful when you look at the score. Fleck –4 Had a ten minute period in the first half where he looked dangerous, was moved out left in the second half where I don’t think he touched the ball. Lafferty – 6 Given pass marks for some of the decent driving runs and won the second penalty. Miller – 6 Probably the worst performance to gain a hat trick I have seen. Took both penalties really well and finished his third with aplomb. Had some woeful misses though and showed a touch of greed when the game could have been wrapped up. Subs – Weiss – 4 Fresh legs to take over from Fleck for the last 20 minutes. Rangers: 01 McGregor, 03 Weir, 04 Broadfoot, 12 Foster, 16 Whittaker, 06 McCulloch, 08 Davis, 09 Miller, 10 Fleck (Weiss 69), 11 Lafferty, 14 Naismith.
