To be fair, compared with the SPL, in terms of standards Norwich and Sion are fucking lightyears ahead. Bottom line as I said in another thread, your anger should be directed at Green if you think the club has been "robbed" because he did absolutely fuck all to keep them other than threaten and antagonise them in the media.

Well I'd have sat them down and worked out any deal that would have made the club money. Even if it meant giving them 50% of the transfer fee or whatever, 50% of something is still better than 50% of nothing. All Green did was pop up in the media and say "we've already transfered the players contracts and they dont have a say in the matter, it's legally binding" which we now know is bollocks. Green could have covered the cost of buying the club selling those players so dont tell me he was too busy to make money, that doesn't wash at all.

Because he made zero attempt to keep them I can only assume that it did suit him. I don't know how it suited him, maybe the money would have seized for debts to the old club or something and it wouldn't have been worth his while, I don't know. You're not answering the question, if its obvious to you that we could have made money selling them why wasn't it obvious to Green? Why did he do all his talking through the media laying down the law 'the players have been transfered and there's nothing they can do about it' was all we heard.

People have this notion that players should have some sort of loyalty to football teams. Those days are long gone, footballers are guns for hire. And yes badge kissing and all that shite I don't agree with. But tell me this...what happens to a player if his form is shite? He gets dropped and if it continues he gets sold. Teams don't play players out of loyalty and players don't play for teams out of loyalty.

Newsflash for you, players are young guys who shag dolly birds, drive fast cars and like having loads of money. If you don't like it then there are plenty of pub teams to go and watch. We can't afford their wages anyway so I don't know what you are all complaining about.

Green will be keeping his options open and going for whatever will make the most money. I doubt we'll ever get into the english leagues but ultimately we'd be far more profitable for Green to sell if we did so can't totally rule it out.

Its not in the players best interests to be sold under value and I doubt CG was all that interested in paying pre-admin rate wages to them either.

You say that but ultimately they do what their agents tell them to do. Their agents would have told them to get the fuck out of dodge. Were the players themselves not saying no one from the club contacted them regarding their future? They are off the wage bill now and would we even have been able to sell them on using sevco? You can't blame the players for doing what's right for them, they never asked for any of this either.

Under normal circumstances you'd get a good few million for them. But ultimately any team coming to buy them will offer way below the asking price because the state the club is in.

A lot of bears are up in arms about the players who are jumping ship, but in reality is CG that bothered? Either way you cut it, we'll be in SPL with heavy sanctions, div 1/spl 2 with sanctions or div 3. We have no opportunity for europe for 3 seasons either. So if these players did transfer their contracts presumably they'd be on the same wages and how on earth can we afford that for the next few years? As for them coming across and being sold to give the club money, bottom line is no club would pay top dollar for them, it would be bargain basement time because they know Rangers aren't in a position to negotiate. The players let's face it are thick as pig shit, and they hire agents to look after them and the agents will be telling them there's no value in getting transfered for 100k and no gaurentee that a club you'd want to play for would even come in for you. As free agents they can tart themselves about and get the deal that's best for them, end up at a bigger club by going on trial or something. We were told to balence the books that Rangers needed to save 1 million a month which came majority from the players wage cuts. Do we really believe CG wants to pay and honour existing contracts out of his own pocket when the clubs revenue streams are all cut off?

Why don't we, petition Walter, McCoist, Brown whoever to start a new team and play wherever. There's a mexican standoff right now and ultimately we'll end up getting shafted because Greens desire to make money outweighs any sanction the SPL can throw at us. We are the club, without us it doesn't exist and yet we have no power. So why don't we start our own club?
