When Walter was appointed I was over the moon with the decision and with him and Ally back at the club I was looking forward to seeing a bit of pride being injected back into the team and seeing players play for the jersey once again. My one and only concern with Walter was his negativity which has shown with both Everton and Scotland and after the result at the weekend has only highlighted this problem. I honestly don't care what sort of response I get from this post but as a season ticket holder I feel I have a right to voice my opinion. Now don’t get my wrong the 4-5-1 formation is a great tool to be used in Europe when we are looking for a point against bigger clubs or even if we are away from home but it should NEVER be used on a domestic level, EVER!!. We should never be playing teams like Motherwell, Hibs and Dundee Utd with only ONE lone striker, it’s an absolute joke. It took us 39 minutes on Sunday to create only one shot on goal, now for a club with our financial status and ambitions that's a total disgrace. There were a few things that bothered me about Sunday’s game: a) Why was Faye in the starting 11 when we have players like Buffel and Gow fully fit ? (Either of these players would have been much better options and would have given us more creativity and attacking style) b) Why replace Faye with Novo when the logical move would have been to replace him with Boyd and went 4-4-2 ? c) Why wait till 82minutes before introducing (our top scorer) Boyd to the game even though we are 2-1 down and in need of goals since the 60th minute? d) Why take of Cousin and replace him Boyd, why not take of a midfielder or defender? (Thomson should have been replaced to give us more options up front, the game was lost anyway) Walter seriously has to think about his tactics as the 4-5-1 formation is far too negative and doesn’t seem suitable for the Scottish game. He has to start giving guys like Buffel, Boyd and Gow thier chance in the team (if they flop then he can drop them) but at least let them have their chance.

I was in full support of Walter when he took over with Ally and Kenny and I think he has layed the foundations to what could be another chapter in Scottish football in which the mighty Gers dominate once again...... However, as amazing as last nights result was we have to look at the bigger picture in terms of where we want our club to be .. Are we happy to reach the last 16 only to go out and the next hurdle ? because on last nights performance that what will happen. It's ok to play like we did last night against the big boys of europe when we only really need a 0-0 draw but over two legs that aint the case we won't be able to allow teams come to Ibrox and have so much of the possesion like Barca did.. When we reach the knockout stages we HAVE to score goals and we HAVE to attack when we are at home, we can't afford to sit so deep and hope that we get a few chances during the game. As much as I was delighted with the result last night at the same time I was a bit disapointed at how deep we were and at the lack of chances we created in the 90 mins. When we reach the last 16 we could be facing teams like Arsenal, Sevilla, Man Utd or Real Madrid all teams who could quite easily turn us over if we allow them the same volumes of possesion we allowed Barca. The point i'm trying to make is that Walters only real fault IMO is that he is FAR too negative at times and this could prove costly when we reach the later stages of the competition, we CAN'T rely on 4-5-1 forever !!

I say we change the team for the game against Dundee Utd on Sunday, lets try something different with Boyd and Naismith up front with Ferguson playing in the centre with Buffel who can play in behind the two strikers !! We have a big squad now and we should be able to rotate...

As much as I hate to say this but Boyd will be sold in the January window !! Smith will continue to play this 4-5-1 formation for the foreseeable future and Boyd is not a player Smith fancies as a lone striker. I reckon he will sell him for £2m - £3m in January to an English side (maybe Premiership) and use the money to strengthen elsewhere in the team. I also think he will be sold, but if we only accept that amount of money for someone who is a prolific goal scorer, with a much better record at both club and country level than Miller I will be furious! Especially as he still has quite a few years left on his contract! I will guarantee that IF Boyd is sold in January (which i'm almost posative he will be) we won't get anymore than £3m for him. Now i'm not saying that £3m is all I think Boyd should be valued at (IMO I wouldnt take any less than £5m) however I can see Walter taking £3m....

i know you never said it was a disgrace but papaguy did basically mate, the gloryhunters have decided to come out for this game and thats why, which i think is awful. if they havent been to any of the games so far, then they should be inelligible for tickets imo. people like kev who has tried to join the ssc wont be able to get a ticket even though he has been to every game except 1. adults are only allowed 2 tickets in the family section as kids need to be accompanied by an adult. but some members will get a second ticket as the remaining tickets are going into a ballot. so for example i have my 1 ticket already but if im successful in the ballot i will get a 2nd ticket but it wnt be next to where am sitting. Define a gloryhunter ??

Maloney looks set to start for Scotland tonight according to the BBC website, as McLeish is going for a more attacking line up.... Maloney is 3/1 to score anytime with William Hill and with him possibly getting the chance at a few free kicks tonight I reckon 3/1 is a great bet ...

4-1-4-1 is just a positive way of saying 4-5-1 FFS, if you play this so called 4-1-4-1 are you NOT playing with 5 midfielders?? Am I wrong ?? a negative way you mean? positive would be 4-4-1-1, damn these numbers! Posative or negative it doesnt really matter what matters is that McLeish will be playing 4-5-1 tonight (against a side who aren't that great) and the most frightening thing about his whole line up will be the inclution Christian "the Carthorse" Dailly.... I don't understand the logic behind this, we are playing with bags of confidence and the Georgians will be playing a 17 year old keeper. A perfect opportunity IMO to get Miller and Boyd up front with McFadden in behind as the playmaker and get this keeper under pressure from the start. To play Dailly at the expense of Boydie is a total joke, the guy hasn't kicked a ball for West Ham in god knows how long, he's finnished !! He hasnt kicked a ball for West Ham in ages because he is currently on loan at Southampton He's still f. ucking mince !!!

Not sure what to make of the new 3rd kit tbh, the colour looks like a jambos top but there is something about it that I like .... Not sure what though ??? (The Scotland badge maybe??)
