  1. And then the Board decdied to go for the great McInnes ... Would not trust that bunch to get it right this time.
  2. Absolutely. I wasn't at the game,, but was at the first home game after the disaster, against Dundee United. Will never forget the sight of stairway 13 seen through the boards, and the power of the minute's silence that day. Still have the commemorative leaflet distributed instead of the match programme. The testimonies of the fans and family members on the Radio 4 programme were very touching.
  3. Can't do a link for some reason, but on the BBC Radio i-Player - programme called 'Aftermath: Ibrox- the Forgotten Tragedy?'. Sensitive interviews with fans, families, and an emotional Alex Macdonald.
  4. Got these programmes, plus the one from the Rennes game. Was at all the home ties, and will never forget them, especially the Bayern game, until the day I die.
  5. I remember the day he got sent off in a game at Ibrox. His family were just along from us in the main stand, and within 5 minutes of him leaving the field, Mohsni appeared in his track suit and sat down alongside his guests. Guy next to me shouted out 'Hey, Mohsni, what the fuck was that all about?' The big man just smiled back. Remember thinking at the time that the fact that a Rangers player could be sent off, then just appear in the stand within a few minutes seemed to show that there was something not quite right about the management culture ...
  6. Anyone but Hodson. Guy is not a footballer.
  7. Oops - just seen that Harlands Plater covered this earlier ...
  8. Presumably from the same school of thought that has Dembele worth £40 million?
  9. It's March next week, and we are actually having a debate about whether or not it's possible for us to win the title. A long time since we were even able to have that debate in March, so I guess that this is progress of some kind. Without the poor start to the season and the stupid lost points we would be on course for the title, and that's the frustration ...
  10. D Decision could have gone either way, admittedly. What I thought was interesting was the conversation that took place between the ref and the linesman, which could clearly be heard on the TV. They genuinely considered the decision, in a professional fashion. In Scotland we would just have an arrogant incompetent like Thompson or Collum making the wrong decision and strutting around ....
  11. 'A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball is not considered to have gained an advantage' and is therefore not offside. Laws of the Game.
  12. Wasn't offside. Ball came off the defender and this was the point of the discussion between the ref and the linesman.
  13. Compare the cool, calm professionalism from the officials at this game with the panicky amateurism of the Scottish versions.
  14. Nuhiu looks like a guy they found in the pub.
  15. They played in this type of top in the 1960s - it's looks like a 'retro' design.
  16. Tony Currie was some player in his heyday.
  17. Actually think Cummings might do a job for us .... all about opinions. Have a good New Year!
  18. Well, you seemed to doubt that anyone had said he was worth that amount. In the real world he isn't, but the figure has been used on here from time to time! On the McKay performances - respect your view and accept that many fans rate him very highly. Many don't though - he seems to be one of those players who divide opinion. My original post on this topic was a direct response to the highlighted comment in another post about McParland being sacked due to his failed recruitment strategy, that's all.
  19. The £6-8 million figure was being used by some characters before he left us , and if you look carefully at some of today's posts here in the Transfers threads, it is appearing again. Absolute nonsense of course, but it's a figure some seem to believe in. As for the one good game in every six weeks or so - I watched enough of him week in and week out to say that this might even be an exaggeration of how many times he played well for us.
  20. McKay was part of his failed recruitment strategy. I just hope that no one tries to bring wee Barrie back to Ibrox. Show pony who performed once every six weeks or so. He'll be playing in league 1 or 2 down there before too long, I think. Either that, or back up here with the likes of St Mirren. A seriously overrated player (£8m man??)

  22. McParland did though - because of his failed recruitment strategy.
