  1. I'd be surprised if we just let him go, but I'm equally surprised if we're going to keep him that his contract hasn't been renewed yet. Although that might have happened behind the scenes for all I know.
  2. I HATE his name But I could put up with it if he's a decent player I guess.
  3. He should be signed as a player-coach. He'd be a great role model for younger centre-backs coming through the ranks, and I think he still has a part to play on the pitch as well (although if he does play on I imagine he'll be given games less often as the season goes on). We do need to replace him at some point, but it would be nice to have him as a backup, and he'd make a great coach IMO.
  4. He scored 20 goals this season despite not being a regular. That says it all really. Why he hasn't played more is beyond me.
  5. Well that explains why you think he's the best passer in the country
  6. I don't know, East Stirlingshire seem to consistently win the third division in recent versions of FM...
  7. In fairness to Neil, who has done a good job, he knows that he was brought in as backup and I'm sure he knows that he'll likely be back on the bench when McGregor is fit.
  8. That's the problem, we've got loads of guys who run about like headless chickens half the time. They put in the effort, certainly, but their footballing ability leaves a lot to be desired. You can never have too much passion but it needs to be backed up with ability. Can you have too much passion to the point where it starts to make you do silly things though? Or do you mean a team as whole can never have too much passion? Well, to a point I guess, we've all seen passion get in the way as well and end up with stupid sendings off etc. Anyway the main point is we need a balance of the two. We need the passion element there, but we've got a real lack of ability and flair in the team just now.
  9. I'll reserve judgement until things actually start happening. I don't want to criticise when criticism is not yet due (in terms of next season at least).
  10. Kirk Broadfoot. I hear he's 6 foot 3
  11. I'm Stranraer. My goalkeeper just scored from a goal kick

  13. Gutted, Newcastle are my team down south, would have liked this to go ahead.
  14. What we need is a balance. We need guys in with quality and flair, but we also need to balance that with players who will run their legs off, maybe show the foreign lads what Rangers means. Although I think it depends on position as well. In defensive players I'd want to see the passion, last ditch tackles etc, as you go further forward I want to see more creative play and talent in midfield and up front. We can all dream
  15. No player is bigger than the club. More and more this season I've been feeling like he's giving absolutely nothing to the team, yet his name is the first name on the team sheet. He's the club captain, he's a rangers man, he's spent almost his whole career here, but at the end of the day, he's not bigger than Rangers, and if he's not contributing then that needs to be addressed. The problem I have is that I know there's a great player in Ferguson, the problem is he only shows up for the occasional game.
  16. Walter won't play 2 up front though, I think it will be a lone striker again next season
  17. just maybe, it was through the frustration of being a rangers fan ? That combined with the fact that we were shocking last night.
  18. As a pundit it's his job to be neutral and tell it like it is. I never heard what he said last night, but if he was laying right into us, to be honest, we deserve it. Plenty of folk on the forum here have been ripping into the team, are they not real Rangers men?
  19. First and foremost we need a right back. Playing a weak centre-back in that position is not going to cut it. Left back is okay because I think Papac has done very well, but we might need backup for that position as I think Stevie Smith is out of contract, and Walter hasn't really seen him play due to the injury problems. We'll need a replacement for Davie Weir as he's sadly not going to last forever. I think we need left and right sided midfielders, probably more so on the left. And I think we need a good striker, someone who knows how to play the lone striker role very well (assuming Walter's keeping that system next season). We really need more players that can hold posession well in general. That's been the most frustrating part of this season for me, we can't keep hold of the ball.
  20. It all depends on who Walter buys in the summer. Obviously he shouldn't go, but if he doesn't return our league title to us next season questions will need to be asked. Unfortunately I don't think the tactics will change drastically.
  21. That was said this season. If we dont sign quality this summer then we wont. I didn't say that this season. I said at the start of the season that I wanted to see us at least put up more of a fight for it, win or lose I wanted to see progress. The league's been much closer this year so I see that as progress (obviously I'm totally gutted about losing it at the final hurdle but that could be attributed to many factors). I think we will win it next season now. But Walter has to really bolster the playing squad with some new talent, build on the foundations from this season and get rid of some of the crap (and despite the improvement this season, there is still a lot of crap in our team). This is one area I'm slightly worried about. The players we're being linked with at the moment are nowhere near the standard we should be looking at. Kenny Miller? Come on...
  22. I said at the start of the season that I wanted to see PROGRESS more than anything. I said we might not win the league, but I want to see us put in more of a challenge for it. At the end of the day, we've not only still been in contention for the league at the final game of the season, we've won the CIS cup, reached a UEFA Cup final, and we've still to play in the Scottish cup final. Walter should not go. He's vastly improved us from last season. Next year is Walter's big test. He now has to prove that he can improve us further with new players and turn us into a solid championship winning side next season. Let's see what he does next before calling for his head
