  1. Great service to the club and stepped up in the hour of need, all the very best Murty
  2. So, not the greatest Rangers player, ie John Greig but the best player ever to play for Rangers in your lifetime, who and why? For me Michael Mols, pre injury he was simply a world beater, the turn, the goals!! Such a shame he was injured so soon into his time at Rangers, never the same afterwards. Won’t go down as the greatest for obvious reasons but in my opinion he’s the best player ever to wear the Rangers shirt (in my lifetime).
  3. Villa no had about 17 managers in the last 10years!!! Hope you’re happy with mediocrity SG!! Onwards n upwards for the most successful club in the world!!
  4. So.. the banners outside Ibrox, they took SG down, have they been replaced?
  5. I know lads that played for him at KH, kept in touch and he’s defo gubbing off about joining the coaching staff!
  6. I wonder if the club has even spoken to anyone else, no real reports or airport sightings, unless UK based. Possible that the club and GVB are just trying to piece the coaching staff together? With the semi final less than a week away surely the club will announce who, whether that be on an interim basis or not, will lead the team this Monday/Tuesday to give the team time to prepare.
  7. McInnes would be a decent no2, however I’d much prefer an established team came in who have worked together previously, understand each others strengths and weaknesses.. I guess that’s what hursts the most about this situ, Rangers backed SG to the hilt, allowed him to create his own setup, it leaves a huge hole to fill/fix. Villa are getting an established team who will hit the ground running. Whilst we may get a decent manager, by the looks of things, we may be creating a coaching setup too.
  8. Happy for the guy, really hope this sees him push on with confidence high…
  9. My mate just called me from Glasgow airport, said he saw who he thought was GVB…
  10. Just don’t get the Lampard hype, other than a respected midfielder his managerial experience looks awful! Lost the dressing room at Chelsea! Rino; as much as there’s part of me wants the firey wee bampot in the dugout, (picture him grabbing Ange by the neck) surely it’s not the stability we need? GVB; Great player, won everything and has done so as a manger in a tough league but he doesn’t seem the most vocal! As mental as that sounds. I can genuinely see the club going for a proven man motivator, like Steve Clark, just no him! Just no sure who that is…
  11. Can’t take last season away from him, cups were awful tho. Covid saved his job the season before… we move on…
  12. Given GVB has been out of football he’s unlikely to have a ready team, it’s more than just a manager we’ve lost!
  13. Patterson maybe Kamara possibly Kent 50/50 absolutely no one else let’s be honest.
  14. Former Hamilton Accies and Preston boss Alex Neil is the current bookies favourite to be the next Rangers manager as current Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard looks set to seal a move to Aston Villa.
  15. Remind SG he’ll NEVER do a Klinsman in a dressing room ever again!!
  16. Such poor timing!! We have little funds to offer a manager to bring in his own players, therefore that eliminates a fair number of candidates… You then gotta be looking at someone with league understanding and get the best out of our current players, bearing in mind that some will likely leave… That list is pretty short tbh… Steve Clarke (I know) Derek McInnes (I know) Robbie Neilson (I know) I can’t think of any others!!!…. OMG!
  17. Oh dear oh dear!! Gotta imagine Beale etc will go as part of his team too… Proper hard one on who will be the next manager tbh!!! Genuinely no clue!! Robbie Neilson has proven track record in our league but would prefer a bigger name! Tough one
  18. I think SG would be better looking at a championship club over a PL club outside of Liverpool… Promotion to PL, then underdog tag wouldn’t be as risky prior to the Liverpool move.
  19. Some great stories! To quote one ‘Rangers was probably the only consistent thing in my life’ Rangers has given us all life experiences of huge highs and sadly some lows. We’ve all experienced these together, but in our own way. It’s amazing how a football club becomes a family, a way of life and, for some, a real commitment. For those who were born into a Rangers family, what’s your first memory of coming to Ibrox? Wee random memory; I went to Ibrox for an interview (for merchant navy!), a few days after Laudrup signed. After the interview I came back down to the ground floor via the lift, which the code is 1928 from memory?? (year the main stand was built) as I’m walking along the corridor there’s Laudrup being interviewed by some journalist, I stopped and listened in for a few minutes, pretty cool for a goofy 16 year old laddie to be part of!
