    Dessers proving a lot of us wrong. May not be the most accomplished player but you cannot argue with his minutes to goals stats.

    It's 22m in and he has provided an assist and made some decent runs. I'd say he hasn't done too shabby

    Is he for the long term though? He gave it all the billy big baws about using us as a stepping stone to the prem and then has failed to live up to early promise. He is what 1/3 through his contract currently and on his recent showing he needs to be in the team now and providing value which he simply is nowhere near doing. I hope I am wrong about the lad but i just dont see him as a starter now or in the future. Also in terms of youngsters we have young Rice who performed well when used and has now disappeared.

    The issue with that is after a season and a half here you would be expecting him to be flying, he is out injured fair enough but after a strong start with us last season he has looked bang average this season and doesnt seem to have the attitude or appetite to be a success here. I dont see him anywhere near starting due to other players simply being better than him.

    I think that goes for too many of our players. Lawrence had a chance but took forever in a day to set himself to shoot. For dessers I still think he is trying too hard to impress. But then so would I if every time I scored and looked good I was dropped for the next game 😂

    Miovski is a far better player than shankland imo. On topic I will be happy with any kind of win to pile the pressure on them. I'd also just like to take the time to say what a fucking tremendous job the boss has done. After the mess he walked into at no point could I envisage us sitting top of the league, trophy in the cabinet and still in Europe. Fantastic

    Dessers should be starting before Silva currently imo. Silva needs to do better

    As tidy a player as Silva is he really isn't threatening enough to be leading the line imo.

    Might get pelters but he is nowhere near a 30m player. We looked less threatening when he came on as he drifted about and didn't stay in the box. He also stopped his run mid stride for some reason when wright cut the ball back. He said he has been given freedom here for the first time in his career and I'm wondering if he has been given too much freedom and needs to be leashed a wee bit in terms of where to play for the teams benefit and not his own.

    Tbf if Silva wasn't lazy and didn't shite out his run it was some cutback. I'm not going to criticise him for that. He is however clearly not good enough which we have known for a while. It's more a shame that the other player at rw is equally as average as he is.

    If we are relying on him and Scott wright for the remainder of the season at rw then god help us. Both are extremely limited players. I'd like us to try something else there as these two clearly aren't up to it.

    We as fans are guilty of seeing things as black and white tbh. If a player doesn't score a sitter he is shite. Realistically every striker misses chances. From mccoist to prso and jelavic. If dessers didn't miss chances he would likely be our top goalscorer in a season ever. People need to be realistic. I have seen enough of him to say he is good enough to contribute this season.

    Got to admit he is slowly changing my opinion. He is a clever player who makes very good runs and creates space for himself in packed boxes. We actually looked less threatening when he was replaced with Silva. His minutes to goals ratio is better than the Japanese fella across the city who the media like to have a chug over. Anyway hope he keeps improving. He is no longer the first player I'd be punting in the summer.
