  1. We are Rangers and no other. We have taken the path of being 'punished' for many 'crimes' that were no fault of the club or the people who are being punished. We have embarked on an adventure through the divisions which will be talked about for decades. When we return to the Champions League it will be a great day in our history. A very long history. But you suggest we should have bought another club, sneaked back in to the CL, left ourselves open to justified accusations of not being the same club, destroying another club and being hated for something we have actually done. No. Just no.
  2. A very welcome statement. Covers a number of issues that have needed to be dealt with. Interesting to see the reactions.
  3. Bring him back, low/sensible wage, great character in the dressing room and on the pitch. Has he done any licences? Maybe this is the opportunity for club and player to mix coaching experience while still playing when needed.
  4. Goram easily Woods or Klos - both very different but cannot choose overall McCloy - my first favourite player Don't know what to make of McGregor - he had the skill to become a great but not the attitude and he walked away. To be a great Rangers keeper, you need more than just the skill
  5. Spending clearly needs to be tightened. That is a given. However, in a few months, we will be halfway back to the top division (whatever it's called) and the path that we're on is to be as prepared as possible for this. Yes, Ally is somewhat inexperienced and we don't always see what he is getting at and, certainly, he gets it wrong at times. His wage is definitely over-inflated for the situation we are in. However, he could have been earning more with his "TV career" instead. He has offered to take a wage-cut and this must be explored, as should all the others outgoings the club is paying. This is the season where we must begin to see the shape of the squad that will enter the top division in a couple of years. Suitable tactics must be developing, key positions must be filled and older players must be clearly supporting the increasing role the younger players have. A player like Daly may not be playing then but Clark must have been prepared well by him for playing top-level football - surely that is why he is there. It is a gamble to pay Ally so much, and hopefully this can be reduced, but to change mid-way through the three-year project would be a bigger gamble.
  6. Can't agree more with the OP. Instead of trying to create a team from a limited source last year, Ally can now mould his team how he wants.
