  1. No, it has to come from everyone. And it has to be widespread. Read any forum such as on the Rhebel website and all you see is the "sevco", "new club" "yous died" crap. Until this is countered by all of us, not just the Club, but all of us then nothing really changes. If we flood their forum with what we know, they will see, bit-by-bit, that it does matter. But at the moment, those who run the rhebel and moderate the forum are seeing mostly anti-Rangers garbage and they are there to keep their customers happy. If we fill it with the Truth, maybe they will start to write the Truth. It's time to stop waiting for the Club to do something. They're not, so why should we give up?
  2. We all need to read this, share this and use this in a growing narrative of the events surrounding the 2012 fiasco. It needs to be thrown in the face of the "you are sevco", "only 2 years old", "new club, Rangers died" bunch who constantly push their (very flawed) version of events. By pulling together the whole story, we can show how Rangers were horrendously treated and then go after those guilty of such unjust actions. When we move from defending our club to going on the offense against those who tried to destroy our club then we will truly get somewhere. Well done VBs for getting the ball rolling in such a strong way.
  3. You may not like Diouf but he proved himself a man when he refused to lower himself to retaliating when Broon got in his face trying to wind him up.
  4. All the evidence shows that Ally can grind out results (usually). It looks as if confidence and development is not happening very well for many players. He does not look as if he will be able to compete at the peak of Scottish football, never mind in Europe. But he got us through the darkest time in our history. He was the focal point. And he visibly aged with the pressure. But he did not fold. For that he deserves our respect. Too often the attitude towards our manager is completely counter-productive. Shouting abuse through a key board is never going to be anything other than ignored. And he does not deserve it. For now he remains manager. Perhaps it's through loyalty from the Board (for whatever reason, that's another issue) or maybe it's their inertia (as in at a standstill). Or maybe we cannot afford to financially pay him off, balancing this with the damage done if we fail to get promotion. Or maybe there is no one suitable right now to take his place. For now, Ally remains. For good or for bad. Maybe it will all fall into place and he will become a great. We can still hope. For in his dark days of sitting on the bench, game after game, a long time ago, he stayed with us and all worked out well afterwards. He became a 'great'. That's probably what keeps him going right now. But the abuse is just wrong.
  5. We can add to Q3 at the end of the article the large amount of European money that a certain club are hoovering up every season without any competition. That they have no rival that can take the league from them, nor do they have to share the pot, which places them in a very good financial position. (At least that was their theory. Pity that Legia messed up with that sub.)
  6. Keep going, wully, if it makes you feel better. But it'll never make you right.
  7. So this is how we treat one of our own? We can disagree with him, think he should go. We can even say it and explain why. But do we treat a true Ranger in this way? Really?
  8. Sorry, no. Protests against the manager? Not the Rangers way. Leave that kind of behaviour to others. McCoist has won the last two divisions easily but it has not been pretty. He is doing something that has never been asked of anyone else. There is no previous blueprint. A huge club, starting at the bottom with insane restrictions placed on him by the supposed authorities while dealing with a succession of egos fighting over the club. Then the one guy he can utterly depend upon, Sandy Jardine (God rest him), becomes terminally ill. Ally held this club together through the darkest times over the last few years. The darkest time in our history. We may not like the style - or lack - of play. We might wish for someone in the PLG mode without the abrupt failure to implement success. We might wish that we, myself included, could have used our stunning success(!) and deep experience at FM to do things different, given the chance. Could we have managed SPL players against 3rd/4th tier players every week? Think about it. Not like playing a minnow in a cup tie with SPL players playing in a SPL team against SPL opposition every week. On paper, it should be easy. On grass (or plastic!) it's not so straightforward. I agree, it could have been better. I'd love to have Ally's ear for a few hours to make a few "suggestions". But with all that has been going on, it could've been far worse. Ally's job is to return us to the top division, then to win it. Let us allow him to do the first part, for he has been successful so far. I would certainly hope that he or the Board would reconsider his position if it becomes clear that he is out of his depth regarding winning the top division. And if Ally were to walk tomorrow, do we really have a queue of interested candidates? If they see fans protesting against Ally after an unbeaten league season, do you think they'd fancy the job? So let's leave protests to others.
  9. So who'd have seen us through what happened in the next six months to a year as a club?
  10. Yes, he is the right man for the job until someone comes along who can do better AND is willing to take the job. Only then does it become "no".
  11. Just a thought... If Ally was out tomorrow, who would replace him in order to improve things? It would have to be: 1. Someone who could significantly improve using the current squad, with very little money to build with; 2. Someone who would want the pressure of having to win this division this year as well as a cup or two, and be very competitive next season. So lots of pressure and few resources. Who could we get?
  12. What is the connection between our manager and the "news"papers that the club chooses to advertise in? Just wonderin...
  13. The current and the past teams mentioned are all basically the weakest teams for us over the last quarter century. Partly weaker players, partly good players not playing to their potential. Also there is and has been the problem of good players not playing well as a team, lack of motivation and tactical question marks. It's an interesting question in the OP and one that is not so straightforward as all of these teams have lacked confidence at different times. Over ten games you'd expect eck's or plg's to come out on top but I don't think it'd be a walkover. The main thing the current team lacks is consistently good enough opposition to help them gel as a decent team. As individuals, most have plenty of success with SPL clubs but as a team they have not worked together against SPL quality opposition often. Over ten games I'd expect the current team to lose the first two or three then grab a couple of draws and a win or two from the remaining games.
  14. The league is the real necessity. It's arguably the most important league season in our history. It would be disappointing not to win the Petrofac Cup once out of our three attempts. (After the State Aid investigation that, in the interests of sporting integrity, demotes any club receiving unfair assistance from the State, a certain bunch could have more wins in this competition than us one day!) I would hope for a decent showing in the two big cups. If we go out (whenever) then only to teams that are playing well. And I hope to see us playing like we are ready for the last step up and not need major surgery on the team next June/July.
  15. There's criticism, and then there's outright abuse.
  16. The media, who are sitting on the biggest football stories for decades but won't touch them, is the most dangerous. Land deals Tax case leaks & HMRC refusing to let go (as opposed to vodafone, etc.) 5-way agreement Without the media actually being balanced, we can spend too much time dealing with irritating behaviour, such as the BBC calling us a "new club", rather than the real issues above and more. And to wider society, we can look like whingers rather than those who actually seek the truth. The logic for many is that "if there was actually a story, the media would be all over it". Because they are silent, the real issues - and especially the first two above, which are very important to us all and not just for Rangers/football - are being ignored and investigations are not taking place. When will the media seek the truth?
  17. or "What does the term 'sporting integrity' mean to you?" You'll know by the reaction...
  18. Looking at the pattern of the game, Fusion gave us plenty of respect early on. We are clearly the better team but did not attempt to put any more effort in than in a routine training match. We lacked any real enthusiasm for breaking down their defence. Fusion became more involved in the match and grabbed a goal. Their confidence grew and we continued to go through the motions. After they got their second, our heads went down. When Mohsni scored, we started looking hungry again as we were back in with a chance for the draw but then we gave up after their third. Clearly Fusion were up for this and we were not. (Anyone know if this is their close season...a warm-up for them too?) Boyd and Miller both failed with very good chances. Straight after each, Fusion scored. A hungry team will chase opportunities after a near miss but our players lost concentration both times. With a large squad and plenty of options, Ally needs to make it very clear that no one's place is assured, lack of winning mentality in any match is going to lose players their place in the team and we play for the jersey. McCoist knows what it is to play for the jersey and so do a few others in the squad, as does Durrant. Time for Mr Nice Guy to take a backward step. He didn't score all those goals over the years by being nice to everyone. McCoist's ruthless side needs to come out.
  19. What Miller will provide on and off the pitch is highly important this year and next. I don't see a slump in effort coming this season from him like we did with many last season. His enthusiasm to return us to where we were in terms of prestige and character will be really good for the younger players as well as those who could have done better in the last six months (Law, Daly etc).
  20. No quotes, no details. And scotzine is the only other that covers the story at this point on newsnow, 8 and a half hours later. Not giving that garbage a hit so maybe they have more details, probably not. So a non-story at this time.
  21. Good, clear statement. Maybe we can expect, in the interests of balance, a future BBC programme on the land deals that have recently been uncovered. And in being so balanced, I wonder which known and controversial Rangers supporter could be taking the Hagerty role... And who could be Houston with the poor defence...
