  1. Nah. Some things in life are worth more than money.
  2. first seven pages and an eight-page pull out in the centre showcasing other problems with gers fans such as forcing the motherwell fans to defend themselves from a nearby area a few months ago...
  3. If any player wants to move on and not play for us any more then let him. We don't want players who don't want to play for us! Then get as much money as we can for him.
  4. Should have been chalked off for lacking in sporting integrity and being highly disrespectful.
  5. About a year should tell us who's gelled in this squad and who needs replacing. A replacement or two can then be made along with an upgrade or two. Then we'll be ready for a season in the top league. If we don't win it, we'll be thereabouts as we'll be the ones with the momentum.
  6. Several celtc players not so long ago but Sutton in particular, using that backing-into-the-defender-then-collapsing trick that they pulled usually just outside the box. Refs fooled on way too many occasions.
  7. At the cost of about 50k to the club? And how soon would the EGM be? Hopefully(!) we'll have some solution within a few days so the EGM would be pointless and out of date.
  8. 'Remember that tour of the Blue Room we took every day of the week... remember how I asked you if you deserve to be wearing the shirt... remember how I told you to compare yourselves to those who have gone before, who have made this the most successful club in the world... now go and prove that you deserve to be a Rangers player next week, never mind next season.'
  9. There are some Rangers fans who support the club, including financially; some of these are fine with the board, others not. But they support the club. Others, who do not support the club financially and do not support the board, are attacking the club by withholding revenue and support, using the Press to attack those who run the club and promote an agenda that could ruin the club unless they have their preference of who is in charge of the club. In other words, there are those who support Rangers and those who support King. Everyone needs to decide which is more important... Rangers or King. That is the only division in the support.
  10. First, who let slip what? Is it confirmed? Is it the full story? Second, why would they calculate what? His compensation? Is it hard to calculate it? Third, what connection has that to what I've written? Fourth, would "letting slip" the amount suddenly put the idea of leaving into Ally's head when nothing else could have? And getting back to my point, is it possible that the Board do not want Ally to leave/resign/be sacked right now? Possible, not definite.
  11. As you probably don't have a hotline to anyone on the Board, your guess is as good as mine. Just because you have decided we are better off without Ally, the Board might not agree at this point. There is enough to do in the near future at that level and the last thing they need is an upheaval in the dressing room. Maybe this is what Ally is taking advantage of, maybe not. But with an upcoming AGM, Board overhauling, dealing with the SFA and their problems with Ashley, finding enough money to see out the season, find the right Board members and stabilising the club, it's fairly possible that the last thing they need right now is a change of manager! So if you try not to jump to any conclusions or make any presumptions, it is possible to get the idea that McCoist's resignation might not be welcome at Board level.
  12. And you're jumping to the conclusion that the Board want rid of Ally at this time. Maybe they don't.
  13. Mike Ashley, iirc, had lots of problems as he got rid of a certain well-known manager when he bought over Newcastle. Maybe, just maybe, he is trying to avoid a repeat. This is just speculation on my part. It would be good if others can speculate rather than judge McCoist guilty on no evidence of what is actually going on. Unless you have some secret source that leads you to make the conclusion you've made...
  14. Is McCoist actually able to cancel his contract? Has he offered to cancel it and the Board have refused for whatever reason? If he just walked away he would be in breach of contract. So maybe he himself is stuck in a contract he'd like to get rid of but cannot. There's a lot of blaming him but we really don't know what has happened.
  15. The key word 'maybe' is included in what I wrote. I am not claiming to know what is going on and what I wrote is only a possibility. But it seems you are far more certain of what is going on. Care to share your source?
  16. I would expect McCoist to be quite aware that the Board are unable to pay off his contract, which is his legal entitlement, regardless of the 'walk away for the club's sake!' that some are saying. Clearly many are unhappy about the on-the-park performance and it is easy to see this as the only reason for Ally's decision to hand in his resignation. However, it is very possible that there are far more fundamental issues, regarding the future of the club as a whole, that he is attempting to make the board face. Yes, the team, the results, even the division this season are deeply important. But if the manager is witnessing the stripping of the club of its people, its ethos and its future then this is quite probably his only card left to play. That is not to say that McCoist is correct in what he is doing at whatever level. But maybe he is following his conscience in doing all that he can. It is easy to judge him on the future of this season's football, or even on his pay-off, but these pale into significance if he is offering his resignation in order to (at least in his understanding) save the club. The memoirs, one day, will be interesting.
  17. Lots of information. Lots of different stories. Bit of a poor soap opera really. Whose leaking this and that info anyway? And if he goes now/soon, it'll be interesting to see the attendances!
  18. Who's footing the bill for the decoration editing?
  19. All the CL money guaranteed each season (if only they actually get there), overpriced players going out, practically guaranteed league titles... And no money? Are the Kelly bunch back?!
