Alot of English people are fucking idiots when it comes to non-English football though. Look at the furore in the papers down there when Sunderland were even thinking of paying 8 or 9 million for Gordon, cause Robinson was bought for less than 2 million and even Cech was only 7 million. So many headlines along the lines of "All Scottish goalkeepers are shit, we all know it" or "Keano's really mad this time", fact is they just never rate Scottish players and never will. Even though people who actually watch football know Gordon's one of the best keepers in Britain, maybe not THE best but certainly up there and its hardly inflated since Liverpool paid nearly 10 million for the permanent benchwarmer that is Chris Kirkland. In response to the orignal question, yes i'd pay 2 million for Naismith, especially if we paid that for Whittaker.

An expensive back-up player, I think he will be our new right midfielder and if Hutton gets injured/suspended then he will drop back. i very much doubt that he is a natural RB and Hutton (lets ignore last night) has been excellent. McCulloch has started well in RMF. IMO yet another good player that will be wasted away on the bench. No he's not, he started off as a right mid then was dropped back to right back by Hibs because of their style of play and to accommodate other players in their midfield. He's good going forward but really can't defend to save himself.

No it's not a steal, Naismith scores and has done regularly for an average team 2 seasons running. Adu couldn't even set the MLS alight despite being overated, err i mean "hyped" up for a few years. He's just an American McGeady, a one trick pony who just doesn't have the finishing touch to put in a decent cross or score. He did have a good U-20 world cup, but i'd rather have that Chilean midfield than him.

I watch French football, he's always been chunky, that's just his build. Maybe not as bad as he is now, but he's certainly never been trim. Why does it matter though, if at 32, not fully fit and fat he's still considered pacey?

Yeah, but big Blanco looked amazing against them too and he's 34 and a complete legend. Castillo is a very, very good player, but he's going to be a big money move which rules Rangers out. Hope City get him though.

He has actually, just hasn't scored many goals. No he hasn't, he lumbers about alot in left midfield and makes a few tackles. He hasn't done anything whatsoever for Scotland going forward, yet. (one 30 yard dig right at the keeper i vaguely recall doesn't really cut it)

I've been pleasantly surprised with his pre-season showings so far, not just the goals, but in general play. Shame he's never played anything like that for Scotland.
