  1. I've never been convinced about Ally as a manager and he definitely overspent on fringe players last summer. However, find it difficult to be too critical considering the circumstances he had to contend with in August 2012. Hearts didn't have to pull a team together from next to nothing in a month with a fan base demanding they hit the ground running and win their league. In these circumstances, it is little wonder we had to pay way over the odds to get a few experienced campaigners in our team. Although, his reluctance to play young players is an issue, to suggest we have missed some sort of golden opportunity to build a team full of youngsters totally ignores the fact that we probably have 4 or 5 at most of the required standard. Our fan base has many great qualities but having patience and giving support to young players struggling to find their feet in the first team is not one of them.
  2. Think we will win it comfortably, providing we get decent ch in to replace jig and Templeton stays fit. Don't think we are great but can't see any big threat coming from others teams.
  3. Ally's robot Ally's 'Tardelli' at Tynecastle Gazza at Parkhead - crowd reaction
  4. He should have given some of the younger players an opportunity over the last half a dozen games, no reason not to.
  5. Miller ok providing short term deal & sensible wages. Boyd no, unless we can ship out Daly to balance books.
  6. Find it hard to get worked up about U20s, etc not winning games / trophies even when it's against them. IMO the sole purpose of these levels is to develop players so they can be introduced to the first team. If we can get 1 or 2 good prospects each year making the step up, surely that is of far more importance than winning anything at this level. Unfortunately, whether it's the lack of talent or more likely Ally's reluctance to play young players, we seem far away as ever from this goal.
  7. Wonder what wages Brian Laudrup would come back for?
  8. Wasn't impressed to begin with but seemed to be coming on to a game before he got injured. Hard to judge him after that after that. Should be given at least another season or two to prove his worth. Ally should be well aware of how difficult it is for a young striker to settle in at Ibrox - took him well over a year to kick a ball for us.
  9. Best CH we have got at the moment, I'm afraid.
  10. More disappointed that we gave few opportunities to our younger players over the season and in particular over the last 7 or 8 games. Really short-sighted management from Ally.
  11. Never met Sandy but had the pleasure of watching him from the terraces break into the first team as a teenager and then develop into one of the finest players I have seen where the blue jersey. He was a class act, intelligent and skilful who could have taught the modern day players a thing or to about dedication to their trade. Memories - one of the best games I saw him play was the 74 Drybrough Final. Sandy played in the middle of the park that day and was immense. Due to an experiment with removal of the offside law the game was stretched and the midfielders were required to put in a real shift. Sandy was more than up for the task, I still have visions of the numerous lung-bursting runs he had through the middle of the park, opposition players trailing in his wake. There was also a memorable melee where I recall Sandy crashing the ball against the underside of the bar. The frame had hardly stopped shaking before he repeated the act. Although we eventually lost on penalties that day, the match was a bell-weather for the season to follow when the bers with Sandy to the fore reclaimed the title after years of disappointment. Thanks for the memories Sandy. You were and will always be a Rangers great.
  12. Despite the club squandering cash over the last 2 years, no ordinary fan who simply wants to go and watch the team on the park has actually lost any money. This could be about to change with Mr King's high risk proposals. Fans like myself that renew their ST have a high chance of losing their money as the club is forced into admin. Fans who deposit their money in Mr King's trust are also likely to end up out of pocket IMO. We really need the brinkmanship and posturing to end and both groups to start talking and agree a way forward for the good of the fans and the club. I fear for the future of the club if we don't end the infighting now.
