I dont expect or think any of our youth will get to the same level as these Ajax guys But anybody who saw any of the tournament they won in Qatar or the 7s tournament before xmas will see a kind of player that is far better technically than what we usually have . I saw an interview with Mullholland a couple of years ago and he was talking about the work they were doing with the young guys that was aimed at getting players ready to make the jump from youths to the adult game . By some accounts the level of young player in Scotland is grtting better and it looks like we have some of the best .. If we can get them to make the jump to first team we will have 2 or 3 really good additions to the squad . Also noticed today that the youths are playing in the hong kong 7s again in may .that will give us another look at them in international club level

Find it hard to disagree with RDB or majority of the posters .Our youth system does appear to be working .But the best of our youth are still under 18 and younger . If the guys continue to develop and kick on then we are still at least a year or 2 from seeing them at first team level . As Ajax are proving if your youths are developed properlly and good enough it's certainly not a gamble
